< Isaiah 45 >

1 Thus hath said the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whom I have taken hold of by his right hand, to subdue nations before him, even the loins of kings will I ungird, to open before him [city-]doors, and gates that they shall not be shut;
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ki heʻene pani, kia Kolesi, ʻaia kuo u puke ki hono nima toʻomataʻu, ke fakavaivai ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga ʻi hono ʻao; pea te u vete ʻae noʻotanga vala ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi, ke fakaava ʻi hono ʻao ʻae ngaahi matapā louua pea ʻe ʻikai tāpuni ʻae ngaahi matapā;
2 I myself will go before thee, and proud eminences will I level: doors of brass will I break in pieces, and bolts of iron will I cut asunder.
“Te u muʻomuʻa ʻiate koe, pea ngaohi ʻae ngaahi potu pikopiko ke totonu: te u laiki ʻae ngaahi matapā palasa, pea tuʻusi ke motu ʻae ngaahi ukamea fakamaʻu:
3 And I will give unto thee the treasures of darkness, and riches hidden in secret places; in order that thou mayest know that I am the Lord, who call thee by thy name, the God of Israel;
Pea te u foaki kiate koe ʻae koloa ʻoe poʻuli, mo e koloa fufū ʻoe ngaahi potu lilo, koeʻuhi ke ke ʻilo ko au, ko Sihova, ʻaia ʻoku ui koe ʻaki ho hingoa, ko au ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli.
4 For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my elect; and I have called thee by thy name: I have designated thee, though thou hast not known me.
Koeʻuhi ko Sēkope ko ʻeku tamaioʻeiki, mo ʻIsileli kuo u fili, kuo u ui ʻaki koe ho hingoa: kuo u fakahingoa koe, ka ʻoku teʻeki te ke ʻilo au.
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, beside me there is no god; I assisted thee, though thou hast not known me.
Ko au ko Sihova, pea ʻoku ʻikai mo ha taha, ʻoku ʻikai ha ʻOtua mo au: naʻaku fakakofuʻi koe, ka ʻoku teʻeki te ke ʻilo au:
6 In order that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from its setting, that there is nothing without me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else;
Koeʻuhi ke nau ʻilo mei he hopoʻangalaʻā, pea mei he lulunga, ʻoku ʻikai ha taha mo au. Ko au ko Sihova, pea ʻoku ʻikai mo ha taha.
7 Forming the light, and creating darkness; making peace, and creating evil: I the Lord do all these things.
Kuo u ngaohi ʻae maama, pea fakatupu mo e poʻuli: ʻoku ou fakahoko ʻae melino, pea fakatupu mo e tau: ko au ko Sihova ʻoku ou fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē.
8 Drop down ye heavens, and let the skies distil blessing; let the earth open and let them [all] be fruitful of prosperity, and let righteousness spring up likewise: I the Lord have created it.
Mapee hifo, ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi langi mei ʻolunga, pea tuku ke lilingi ʻe he ngaahi ʻao ʻae māʻoniʻoni: tuku ke fakamanga ʻae kelekele, pea tuku ke tupu ai ʻae moʻui, pea tuku ke tupu fakataha mo e angatonu; ko au ko Sihova kuo u fakatupu ia.
9 Woe unto him that contendeth with the one who formed him—a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
‌ʻE malaʻia ia ʻaia ʻoku fekuki mo hono Tupuʻanga! Tuku ke fai ʻe he konga ipu maumau mo e ngaahi konga ipu maumau ʻoe kelekele. ʻE pehē ʻe he ʻumea kiate ia ʻoku ne fakafuofua ia, “Ko e hā kuo ke ngaohi?” Pe ko hoʻo ngāue, “ʻOku ʻikai hano nima?”
10 Woe unto him that saith unto [his] father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What bringest thou forth?
‌ʻE malaʻia ia ʻoku pehē ki heʻene tamai, “Ko e hā kuo ke fakatupu?” Pe ki he fefine, “Ko e hā ia kuo ke fanauʻi?”
11 Thus hath said the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and he who hath formed him, About events to come will you ask me? concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands will ye command me?
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, ko e tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻo ʻIsileli, mo hono Tupuʻanga, “Fehuʻi kiate au ʻi he ngaahi meʻa ʻe hoko ʻoku kau ki hoku ngaahi foha, pea ʻi he ngaahi ngāue ʻa hoku nima mou fekau mai kiate au.
12 [When] I myself have made the earth, and created man upon it; [when] I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and I have ordained all their host.
Kuo u ngaohi ʻa māmani, pea fakatupu mo e tangata ʻi ai: ko au, kuo u folahi ʻe hoku nima ʻae ngaahi langi, pea kuo u fekau ki honau tokolahi kotoa pē.
13 I myself have waked him up in righteousness, and all his ways will I make straight: he shall build my city, and my exiles shall he dismiss free, not for purchase-money nor for presents, saith the Lord of hosts.
14 Thus hath said the Lord, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of high stature, shall pass over unto thee, and thine shall they be: behind thee shall they walk; in chains shall they pass along, and unto thee shall they bow, unto thee shall they pray, [saying] Yea, only among thee is God; and there is no one else beside God.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE haʻu kiate koe ʻae ngāue ʻa ʻIsipite, mo e koloa ʻa ʻItiopea, pea mo e kakai Sipa, ko e kau tangata lalahi, pea ʻe ʻaʻau ʻakinautolu: te nau muimui ʻiate koe; ʻi he ukamea fihifihi te nau aʻu mai, pea te nau tō ki lalo kiate koe, te nau kole kiate koe, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻae ʻOtua; pea ʻoku ʻikai mo ha tokotaha, ʻoku ʻikai mo ha ʻOtua.’”
15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
Ko e moʻoni ko koe ko e ʻOtua ʻoku ke fufū koe, ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli, ko e Fakamoʻui.”
16 They are ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: together shall they go to confusion that are makers of idols.
Te nau mā, pea puputuʻu, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē: ʻe tutuku fakataha ʻi he maveuveu ʻakinautolu ʻoku ngaohi tamapua.
17 [But] Israel shall be helped by the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed and not be confounded unto all eternity.
Ka e fakamoʻui ʻa ʻIsileli ʻia Sihova ʻaki ʻae moʻui taʻengata: ʻe ʻikai te mou mā pe puputuʻu ʻo lauikuonga pea taʻengata.
18 For thus hath said the Lord the creator of the heavens; he, the God that formed the earth and made it; he that hath established it, —not for naught did he create it, to be inhabited did he form it: I am the Lord; and there is no one else.
19 Not on a secret spot have I spoken, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me for naught; [but] I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
Naʻe ʻikai te u lea ʻi he lilo, ʻi ha potu fakapoʻuli ʻo māmani: naʻe ʻikai te u pehē taʻeʻaonga ki he hako ʻo Sēkope, ‘Kumi kiate au:’ Ko au ko Sihova ʻoku ou lea ʻaki ʻae māʻoniʻoni, ʻoku ou fakahā ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻoku totonu.”
20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye escaped fugitives of the nations! They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
“Fakataha ʻakimoutolu pea haʻu; ʻunuʻunu mai ke ofi ʻakimoutolu kuo hao ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga: ʻoku ʻikai ha ʻilo ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku fokotuʻu ʻae ʻakau ʻo ʻenau tamapua kuo tongi, pea hū ki he ʻotua ʻoku ʻikai faʻa fakamoʻui.
21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this in ancient times? told it from the beginning? is it not I the Lord? and there is no other god without me, a just god and a saviour; there is none beside me.
Mou tala, pea ʻomi ke ofi ʻakinautolu, ʻio, tuku ke nau fakakaukau fakataha: ko hai kuo ne fakahā ʻae meʻa ni mei he kuonga ʻi muʻa? Ko hai kuo ne tala ia mei he kuonga ko ia? ʻIkai ko au ko Sihova? Pea ʻoku ʻikai mo ha ʻOtua mo au; ko e ʻOtua angatonu pea ko e Fakamoʻui; ʻoku ʻikai ha taha mo au.
22 Turn unto me, so that ye may be helped, all ye ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else.
“Sio mai kiate au pea mou moʻui ai, ʻae ngaahi ngataʻanga kotoa pē ʻo māmani: he ko au pe ko e ʻOtua, pea ʻoku ʻikai mo ha taha.
23 By myself have I sworn, righteousness is gone out of my mouth, a word [which] shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bend, every tongue shall swear.
Kuo u fuakava ʻiate au pe, kuo ʻalu atu ʻae folofola ʻi hoku fofonga ʻi he māʻoniʻoni, pea ʻe ʻikai foki ia, ʻE peluki ʻae tui kotoa pē kiate au, ʻe fuakava mo e ʻelelo kotoa pē.
24 Only in the Lord, —shall men say of me, —there are righteousness and strength. Unto him shall come and be ashamed all that are incensed against him.
Ko e moʻoni, ʻe pehē ʻe ha tokotaha, ‘ʻOku ou maʻu ʻae māʻoniʻoni mo e mālohi ʻia Sihova:’” ʻio, ʻe haʻu kiate ia ʻae kakai; pea ko kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻita kiate ia ʻe mā.
25 In the Lord shall be justified, and shall glory themselves all the seed of Israel.
‌ʻE tonuhia ʻia Sihova ʻae hako kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli, pea te nau vikiviki ai.
