Isaiah 45
1 Thus hath said the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whom I have taken hold of by his right hand, to subdue nations before him, even the loins of kings will I ungird, to open before him [city-]doors, and gates that they shall not be shut;
Näin sanoo Herra voidellullensa Korekselle, jonka oikiaan käteen minä rupeen: minä taivutan pakanat hänen eteensä, ja päästän kuningasten miekat heidän suoliltansa, että ovet avataan hänen eteensä, eikä uksia suljeta.
2 I myself will go before thee, and proud eminences will I level: doors of brass will I break in pieces, and bolts of iron will I cut asunder.
Minä tahdon käydä sinun edelläs, ja tehdä koliat tasaisiksi; minä tahdon rikkoa vaskiovet, ja särkeä rautateljet;
3 And I will give unto thee the treasures of darkness, and riches hidden in secret places; in order that thou mayest know that I am the Lord, who call thee by thy name, the God of Israel;
Ja annan sinulle salatut tavarat ja kätketyt kalliit kalut, että ymmärtäisit minun olevan Herran Israelin Jumalan, joka sinun nimeltäs kutsun,
4 For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my elect; and I have called thee by thy name: I have designated thee, though thou hast not known me.
Jakobin minun palveliani tähden, ja Israelin minun valittuni tähden: minä kutsuin sinun nimeltäs, ja nimitin sinun, kuin et sinä minua vielä tuntenut.
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, beside me there is no god; I assisted thee, though thou hast not known me.
Minä olen Herra, ja ei yksikään muu; paitsi minua ei ole yhtään Jumalaa. Minä varustin sinun, kuin sinä et vielä minua tuntenut,
6 In order that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from its setting, that there is nothing without me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else;
Että sekä idästä ja lännestä ymmärrettäisiin, ettei ilman minua mitään ole. Minä olen Herra, ja ei kenkään muu.
7 Forming the light, and creating darkness; making peace, and creating evil: I the Lord do all these things.
Minä joka teen valkeuden ja luon pimeyden, minä joka annan rauhan ja luon pahan; minä olen Herra, joka kaikki nämät teen.
8 Drop down ye heavens, and let the skies distil blessing; let the earth open and let them [all] be fruitful of prosperity, and let righteousness spring up likewise: I the Lord have created it.
Te taivaat, tiukkukaat ylhäältä, ja pilvet satakoon vanhurskauden; maa avatkoon itsensä ja kantakoon autuuden, ja vanhurskaus kasvakoon myös. Minä Herra luon sen.
9 Woe unto him that contendeth with the one who formed him—a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
Voi sitä, joka riitelee Luojansa kanssa, saviastia savenvalajan kanssa. Sanoneeko savi savenvalajalle: mitäs teet? et sinä osoita kättäs sinun teossas.
10 Woe unto him that saith unto [his] father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What bringest thou forth?
Voi sitä, joka isälle sanoo: miksis minun olet siittänyt? ja vaimolle: miksis minun synnytit?
11 Thus hath said the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and he who hath formed him, About events to come will you ask me? concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands will ye command me?
Näin sanoo Herra, Israelin Pyhä ja tekiä: anokaat minulta tulevaisia merkkejä, neuvokaat lapseni ja kätteni työ minun tyköni.
12 [When] I myself have made the earth, and created man upon it; [when] I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and I have ordained all their host.
Minä olen tehnyt maan, ja luonut ihmisen sen päälle; minä olen se, jonka kädet ovat levittäneet taivaan, ja antanut käskyn kaikelle sen joukolle.
13 I myself have waked him up in righteousness, and all his ways will I make straight: he shall build my city, and my exiles shall he dismiss free, not for purchase-money nor for presents, saith the Lord of hosts.
Minä olen herättänyt hänen vanhurskaudessa, ja minä teen kaikki hänen tiensä tasaiseksi. Hänen pitää rakentaman minun kaupunkini, ja päästämän minun vankini vallallensa, ei rahan eli lahjan tähden, sanoo Hera Zebaot.
14 Thus hath said the Lord, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of high stature, shall pass over unto thee, and thine shall they be: behind thee shall they walk; in chains shall they pass along, and unto thee shall they bow, unto thee shall they pray, [saying] Yea, only among thee is God; and there is no one else beside God.
Näin sanoo Herra: Egyptilästen saanto ja Etiopialaisten kauppa, ja se suuri Seban kansa pitää itsensä antaman sinun alles, ja oleman sinun omas; heidän pitää noudattaman sinua, jalkapuissa pitää heidän käymän, ja pitää lankeeman maahan sinun etees, ja rukoileman sinua, sillä Jumala on sinun tykönäs, ja ei ole yhtään muuta Jumalaa.
15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
Totisesti sinä olet salattu Jumala, sinä Jumala, Israelin Vapahtaja.
16 They are ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: together shall they go to confusion that are makers of idols.
Mutta epäjumalain tekiät täytyy kaikki häpiässä ja häväistyksessä pysyä, ja yksi toisensa kanssa häväistynä mennä pois.
17 [But] Israel shall be helped by the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed and not be confounded unto all eternity.
Mutta Israel lunastetaan Herran kautta ijankaikkisella lunastuksella, eikä tule häpiään eli pilkkaan koskaan ijankaikkisesti.
18 For thus hath said the Lord the creator of the heavens; he, the God that formed the earth and made it; he that hath established it, —not for naught did he create it, to be inhabited did he form it: I am the Lord; and there is no one else.
Sillä näin sanoo Herra, joka taivaan luonut on, Jumala, joka maan on valmistanut, ja on sen tehnyt ja vahvistanut sen, ja ei niin sitä tehnyt, että se olis tyhjänä ollut, vaan valmisti sen että siinä asuttaisiin: Minä olen Herra, ja ei kenkään muu.
19 Not on a secret spot have I spoken, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me for naught; [but] I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
En minä ole salaa puhunut, pimiässä paikassa maan päällä, enkä ole Jakobin siemenelle sanonut: etsikäät minua hukkaan; sillä minä olen Herra, joka vanhurskaudesta puhun, ja ilmoitan oikeutta.
20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye escaped fugitives of the nations! They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
Anna pakanain sankarien kokoontua ja tulla yhteen, jotka ei mitään tiedä, ja kantavat epäjumalansa kannot, ja rukoilevat sitä jumalaa, joka ei auttaa taida.
21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this in ancient times? told it from the beginning? is it not I the Lord? and there is no other god without me, a just god and a saviour; there is none beside me.
Ilmoittakaat ja tulkaat tänne, pitäkäät neuvoa keskenänne, kuka näitä alusta kuulutti, ja silloin on sen ilmoittanut? Enkö minä Herra? Ja ei ole ensinkään Jumalaa paitsi minua: hurskas Jumala ja Vapahtaja, ei ole yksikään paitsi minua.
22 Turn unto me, so that ye may be helped, all ye ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else.
Kääntykäät minun tyköni, niin te autuaaksi tulette, kaikki maailman ääret; sillä minä olen Jumala, ja ei kenkään muu.
23 By myself have I sworn, righteousness is gone out of my mouth, a word [which] shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bend, every tongue shall swear.
Minä vannon itse kauttani, ja minun suustani on vanhurskauden sana käyvä ulos, ja sen pitää vahvana pysymän: minulle pitää kaikki polvet kumartaman, ja kaikki kielet vannoman,
24 Only in the Lord, —shall men say of me, —there are righteousness and strength. Unto him shall come and be ashamed all that are incensed against him.
Ja sanoman: Herrassa on minulla vanhurskaus ja väkevyys; senkaltaiset tulevat hänen tykönsä, mutta kaikki, jotka seisovat häntä vastaan, ne häpiään tulevat.
25 In the Lord shall be justified, and shall glory themselves all the seed of Israel.
Sillä Herrassa kaikki Israelin siemen vanhurskautetaan, ja saavat hänestä kerskata.
