Isaiah 45
1 Thus hath said the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whom I have taken hold of by his right hand, to subdue nations before him, even the loins of kings will I ungird, to open before him [city-]doors, and gates that they shall not be shut;
Ovako govori Jahve o Kiru, pomazaniku svome: “Primih ga za desnicu da pred njim oborim narode i raspašem bokove kraljevima, da rastvorim pred njim vratnice, da mu nijedna vrata ne budu zatvorena.
2 I myself will go before thee, and proud eminences will I level: doors of brass will I break in pieces, and bolts of iron will I cut asunder.
Ja ću hoditi pred tobom da poravnam uzvisine, da razbijem mjedene vratnice, da slomim željezne prijevornice.
3 And I will give unto thee the treasures of darkness, and riches hidden in secret places; in order that thou mayest know that I am the Lord, who call thee by thy name, the God of Israel;
Dajem ti tajna blaga i skrivena bogatstva, da bi spoznao da sam ja Jahve koji te zovem po imenu, Bog Izraelov.
4 For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my elect; and I have called thee by thy name: I have designated thee, though thou hast not known me.
Radi sluge svog Jakova i Izraela, svog izabranika, po imenu ja te pozvah, imenovah te premda me znao nisi.
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, beside me there is no god; I assisted thee, though thou hast not known me.
Ja sam Jahve i nema drugoga; osim mene Boga nema. Iako me ne poznaš, naoružah te:
6 In order that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from its setting, that there is nothing without me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else;
nek' se znade od istoka do zapada da izvan mene sve je ništavilo.” Ja sam Jahve i nema drugoga;
7 Forming the light, and creating darkness; making peace, and creating evil: I the Lord do all these things.
ja tvorim svjetlost i stvaram tamu. Ja stvaram sreću i dovodim nesreću, ja, Jahve, činim sve to.
8 Drop down ye heavens, and let the skies distil blessing; let the earth open and let them [all] be fruitful of prosperity, and let righteousness spring up likewise: I the Lord have created it.
Rosite, nebesa, odozgo, i oblaci, daždite pravednošću. Neka se rastvori zemlja da procvjeta spasenje, da proklija izbavljenje! Ja, Jahve, stvaram sve.
9 Woe unto him that contendeth with the one who formed him—a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
Jao onome tko raspravlja s tvorcem svojim, a sud je među glinenim sudovima! Kaže li glina lončaru: “Što radiš?” ili djelo njegovo: “Kljast si!”
10 Woe unto him that saith unto [his] father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What bringest thou forth?
Jao onom koji kaže ocu: “Što si rodio?” Ili ženi: “Što si na svijet dala?”
11 Thus hath said the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and he who hath formed him, About events to come will you ask me? concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands will ye command me?
Ovako govori Jahve, Svetac Izraelov, njegov tvorac: “Zar je vaše da me o mojoj djeci pitate i da mi nad djelom ruku mojih zapovijedate?
12 [When] I myself have made the earth, and created man upon it; [when] I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and I have ordained all their host.
Ja sam načinio zemlju i čovjeka na njoj stvorio; svojim sam rukama razapeo nebesa i zapovijedam svim vojskama njihovim.
13 I myself have waked him up in righteousness, and all his ways will I make straight: he shall build my city, and my exiles shall he dismiss free, not for purchase-money nor for presents, saith the Lord of hosts.
Ja sam ga podigao da pobijedi i poravnao sam mu sve putove. On će obnoviti moj Grad i sužnje moje vratiti bez otkupnine i naknade.” Tako kaže Jahve nad Vojskama.
14 Thus hath said the Lord, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of high stature, shall pass over unto thee, and thine shall they be: behind thee shall they walk; in chains shall they pass along, and unto thee shall they bow, unto thee shall they pray, [saying] Yea, only among thee is God; and there is no one else beside God.
Ovako govori Jahve: “Ratari Egipta i trgovci Kuša, i Sebejci, ljudi rasta visoka, prijeći će tebi i tvoji će biti; za tobom će ići okovani, tebi će se klanjati i molit će ti se: 'Jedino je kod tebe Bog, nema drugoga; ništavni su bogovi.'”
15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
Doista ti si Bog skriveni, Bog Izraelov, Spasitelj.
16 They are ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: together shall they go to confusion that are makers of idols.
Postidjet će se i poniknut će svi zajedno, otići će u ruglu oni koji prave kipove.
17 [But] Israel shall be helped by the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed and not be confounded unto all eternity.
A Jahve će vječnim spasenjem spasit' Izraela. Nećete se postidjeti i nećete poniknuti dovijeka.
18 For thus hath said the Lord the creator of the heavens; he, the God that formed the earth and made it; he that hath established it, —not for naught did he create it, to be inhabited did he form it: I am the Lord; and there is no one else.
Da, ovako govori Jahve, nebesa Stvoritelj - on je Bog - koji je oblikovao i sazdao zemlju, koji ju je učvrstio i nije je stvorio pustu, već ju je uobličio za obitavanje: “Ja sam Jahve i nema drugoga.
19 Not on a secret spot have I spoken, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me for naught; [but] I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
Nisam govorio u tajnosti, u zakutku mračne zemlje. Nisam rekao potomstvu Jakovljevu: 'Tražite me u pustoši.' Ja, Jahve, govorim pravo i naviještam čestito.”
20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye escaped fugitives of the nations! They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
“Saberite se i dođite, pristupite zajedno, svi preživjeli od naroda! Neznalice puke oni su što nose kip izrađen od drveta i mole boga koji ih spasit' ne može.
21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this in ancient times? told it from the beginning? is it not I the Lord? and there is no other god without me, a just god and a saviour; there is none beside me.
Objavite, iznesite svoje dokaze, svjetujte se zajedno: tko je to od davnine navijestio i od tada prorekao? Nisam li ja, Jahve? Nema drugoga boga do mene; Boga pravednog i Spasitelja osim mene nema.
22 Turn unto me, so that ye may be helped, all ye ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else.
Obratite se k meni da se spasite, svi krajevi zemlje, jer ja sam Bog i nema drugoga!
23 By myself have I sworn, righteousness is gone out of my mouth, a word [which] shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bend, every tongue shall swear.
Sobom se samim kunem, iz mojih usta izlazi istina, riječ neopoziva, da će se preda mnom prignuti svako koljeno, mnome će se svaki jezik zaklinjati
24 Only in the Lord, —shall men say of me, —there are righteousness and strength. Unto him shall come and be ashamed all that are incensed against him.
govoreći: 'Jedino je u Jahvi pobjeda i snaga!'” K njemu će doći, postiđeni, svi što na nj su bjesnjeli.
25 In the Lord shall be justified, and shall glory themselves all the seed of Israel.
U Jahvi će pobijediti i proslavit se sve potomstvo Izraelovo!
