< Isaiah 41 >

1 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let nations acquire new strength: let them approach, then let them speak, together let us come near to judgment.
Nọrọnụ jụụ nʼihu m, unu mba niile mmiri gbara gburugburu! Ka mba niile gbanwee ike ha. Ka ha pụta kwuo okwu. Ka anyị zukọtaa nʼebe ikpe ikpe.
2 Who waked up from the east the man whom righteousness met in his steps? he giveth up nations before him, and maketh him rule over kings; that his sword may render them as the dust, as driven stubble, his bow.
“Onye kpọtere onye a sitere nʼọwụwa anyanwụ na-abịa, onye e sitere nʼezi omume kpọọ ya ije ozi? O weere mba niile nyefee ya nʼaka, meriekwa ndị eze nʼihu ya. O ji mma agha ya tie ha mee ka ha ghọọ uzuzu, jiri ụta ya mee ka ha ghọọkwa igbugbo ọka nke ifufe na-ebugharị.
3 He pursueth them, passeth along in safety, by a path which his feet have not gone over before.
Ọ na-achụ ha ọsọ, ma na-agakwa nʼihu na-enweghị mmerụ ahụ ọbụla. E, ọ na-agbasokwa ụzọ nke ọ na-agabeghị mbụ.
4 Who hath wrought and done it? he who called the generations from the beginning; I the Lord, [who am] the first, and with the latest I am the same.
Ọ bụ onye rụrụ ọrụ dị otu a mezukwa ya, na-akpọ ọgbọ niile site na mmalite? Ọ bụ mụ onwe m, bụ Onyenwe anyị, onye dị siterị na mbido ihe niile, onye ga-adịgidekwa ruo ọgwụgwụ ihe niile. Ọ bụ mụ onwe m bụ onye ahụ.”
5 The isles saw it, and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come.

6 They help one another; and each one saith to his brother, Be strong!

7 So the smith encouraged the melter, he that smootheth with the hammer him that striketh on the anvil; saying of the solder, It is good; and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend;

9 Thou, whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the midst of its chiefs, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I strengthen thee, yea, I help thee, yea, I uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Ya mere, unu atụla egwu nʼihi na anọnyeere m unu. Ka obi ghara ịlọ unu mmiri nʼihi na abụ m Chineke unu. Aga m eme ka unu dịrị ike; aga m enyere unu aka; aga m ejikwa aka nri nke ezi omume m kwagide unu.
11 Behold, ashamed and confounded shall be all that were incensed against thee; they shall be as naught and perish—the men that strive with thee.
“Lee! A ga-etinye ndị niile iwe ha dị ọkụ megide unu nʼọnọdụ ihe ihere, ihere ga-emekwa ha. Ndị niile na-eguzogide unu ga-aghọ ihe efu, bụrụ ndị lara nʼiyi.
12 Thou wilt seek them, and shalt not find them, the men that contend with thee; they shall be as naught and as nothing, the men that make war against thee.
Unu ga-ele anya ha, chọọ ha, ma ọ dịghị onye ọbụla nʼime ha ga-afọdụ ndụ. Ndị a na-ebuso unu agha ga-abụ naanị ihe efu.
13 For I the Lord thy God lay hold of thy right hand; [I am he] who saith unto thee, Fear not, I help thee.
Nʼihi na mụ onwe m, bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị, onye na-ejidesi aka nri gị ike bụ onye na-asị gị, ‘Atụla egwu; aga m enyere gị aka.’
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye few men of Israel: I myself help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
Atụla egwu, gị idide, bụ Jekọb, unu Izrel dị nta, atụla egwu, nʼihi na mụ onwe m ga-enyere gị aka,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara, Onye mgbapụta gị, bụ Onye nsọ nke Izrel.
15 Behold, I have rendered thee a threshing instrument, sharp, new, having many teeth: thou shalt thresh mountains, and beat them small, and shalt render the hills as chaff.
“Lee, aga m eme ka unu ghọọ igwe ọhụrụ eji azọcha mkpụrụ ọka nke dị nkọ, nwekwa ọtụtụ eze. Unu ga-azọcha ugwu niile zọpịa ha, meekwa ka ugwu nta niile dịka igbugbo ọka.
16 Thou shalt scatter them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the storm shall disperse them; but thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, in the Holy One of Israel shalt thou glorify thyself.
Unu ga-ayọgharị, fụchaa ha; ikuku ga-eburu ha bufuo, oke ikuku ga-ekposasị ha. Ma unu ga-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼime Onyenwe anyị, nyaakwa isi nʼime Onye dị nsọ nke Izrel.
17 The poor and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue is dried up with thirst: I the Lord will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
“Mgbe mmiri ọṅụṅụ kọrọ ndị ogbenye na ndị mkpa na-akpa, mgbe ha na-enweghị ike ịchọta mmiri ọṅụṅụ mgbe akpịrị na-akpọ ha nkụ nʼihi agụụ mmiri, mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị ga-aza ha. Mụ onwe m, bụ Chineke nke Izrel, agaghị agbakụta ha azụ.
18 I will open on naked mountain-peaks rivers, and in the midst of valleys fountains; I will change the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into springs of water.
Aga m eme ka mmiri site nʼala kpọrọ nkụ nke ugwu niile na-erudatara ha. Aga m eme ka isi iyi na-asọpụta na ndagwurugwu niile. Aga m eme ka mmiri jupụta nʼọzara, meekwa ka isi iyi mmiri site nʼala kpọrọ nkụ na-asọpụta.
19 I will place in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil-tree; I will set in the desert the fir-tree, the pine and the box-tree together;
Aga m akụ nʼọzara, osisi sida, na osisi akashia, na osisi mietul, na osisi oliv. M ga-eji osisi junipa, na osisi saipres na osisi fịa, kụkọta ha ọnụ nʼala ahụ tọgbọrọ nʼefu,
20 In order that they may see, and know and take [it to heart], and comprehend together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

21 Produce your cause, saith the Lord: bring forward your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
“Wepụtanụ mkpesa unu,” ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Doo okwu unu nʼusoro,” ka Eze nke Jekọb na-asịkwa.
22 Let them bring them forward and tell us what shall happen: the former things—what are they?—tell us, that we may take it to heart, and know the result of them; or let us hear the things that are to come.
“Ka ha bubata arụsị ndị a, ma gwa anyị, ihe gaje ime. Ka ha gwa anyị ihe mere nʼoge gara aga, ihe ha pụtara, ka anyị nwee ike tulee ha matakwa ihe ga-abụ ikpeazụ ha. Maọbụ kwupụtara anyị ihe ndị ahụ na-abịa,
23 Tell the events that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and see it together.
gwa anyị ihe ọdịnihu ji, ka anyị mara na unu bụ chi. Meenụ ezi ihe, maọbụ ihe ọjọọ, nke ga-eme ka anya gbagwojuo anyị, ka anyị jupụtakwa nʼegwu.
24 Behold, ye are less than nothing, and your work less than a breath: [he that is] an abomination [alone] chooseth you.
Ma unu dị nta karịa ihe efu. Ọrụ unu niile bụkwa ihe na-abaghị uru. Onye họọrọ unu emeela onwe ya ihe arụ.
25 I have waked up one from the north, and he cometh; from the rising of the sun one who will call on my name: and he shall [over-]come princes as mortar, and as the potter treadeth down the clay.
“Akpọliela m otu onye site nʼakụkụ ugwu, ọ na-abịakwa. Otu onye na-asọpụrụ aha m sikwa nʼọwụwa anyanwụ. Ọ na-azọpịa ndị ọchịchị niile dịka ha bụ ụrọ, ọ ga-azọpịa ha dịka onye na-akpụ ite si azọpịa aja ụrọ.
26 Who hath told it from the beginning, that we may know it? and aforetimes, that we may say, “it is right?” but indeed there is none that telleth, indeed there is none that letteth us hear, indeed there is none that heareth your words.
O kwuru maka nke a site na mmalite, ka anyị nwee ike mara, maọbụ mgbe na o mebeghị, ka anyị nwee ike sị, ‘Ihe o kwuru ziri ezi’? O nweghị onye kwuru ihe banyere nke a, o nweghịkwa onye mere ka amata ya, o nwekwaghị onye si nʼọnụ gị nụ okwu ọbụla.
27 The first [was I to say] to Zion, Behold, there they are; and to Jerusalem will I give one that bringeth good tidings.
Abụ m onye mbụ gwara Zayọn, ‘Lee, nʼebe a ka ha dị!’ Ọ bụ m ziteere Jerusalem onyeozi oziọma.
28 And I ever look, and there is no man; and among these there is no counsellor, that they could answer a word.
Elegharịrị m anya ma o nweghị onye m hụrụ. O nweghị onye nọ nʼetiti chi ha nke nwere ike inye ndụmọdụ; o nweghị onye inye ọsịsa ajụjụ mgbe m jụrụ ha.
29 Behold, they all are naught; their works are nothing: wind and vanity are their molten images.
Lee, ha niile bụ ụgha! Ọrụ ha niile pụtara ihe efu, arụsị ha niile awuru awu bụ naanị ifufe na ọgbaaghara.
