Isaiah 41

1 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let nations acquire new strength: let them approach, then let them speak, together let us come near to judgment.

“Pamatia ako sa hilom, kamong mga kabaybayonan; tugoti nga bag-ohon sa mga kanasoran ang ilang kusog; tugoti sila nga moanhi ug mosulti; managtigom kita aron mahusay ang atong gilantugian.

2 Who waked up from the east the man whom righteousness met in his steps? he giveth up nations before him, and maketh him rule over kings; that his sword may render them as the dust, as driven stubble, his bow.

Kinsa man ang mipatungha kaniya gikan sa sidlakan, ug nag-ingon nga matarong ang iyang binuhatan? Gigunitan niya ang mga nasod ug gitabangan nga mabuntog niya ang mga hari. Gihimo niya sila nga abog pinaagi sa iyang espada, sama sa tahop nga gipalid sa iyang pana.

3 He pursueth them, passeth along in safety, by a path which his feet have not gone over before.

Gigukod niya sila ug luwas nga nakalatas, pinaagi sa kusog niyang pagdagan nga daw wala magtunob sa dalan ang iyang mga tiil.

4 Who hath wrought and done it? he who called the generations from the beginning; I the Lord, [who am] the first, and with the latest I am the same.

Kinsa man ang nagbuhat ug nagtapos niini nga mga buluhaton? Kinsa man ang nagpatawag sa mga kaliwatan gikan pa sa sinugdan? Ako, si Yahweh, ang nahiuna, ug ang ulahi, Ako mao siya.

5 The isles saw it, and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come.

Nakakita ang mga Isla ug nangahadlok; nangurog ang kinatumyan sa kalibotan; miabot sila ug nanuol.

6 They help one another; and each one saith to his brother, Be strong!

Mitabang ang matag-usa sa iyang silingan, ug miingon ang matag-usa ngadto sa uban, 'Pagmalig-on.'

7 So the smith encouraged the melter, he that smootheth with the hammer him that striketh on the anvil; saying of the solder, It is good; and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

Busa gidasig sa tigpanday ang tiggama sa bulawan, ug siya nga nagtrabaho gamit ang maso nagdasig kaniya nga naggamit sa pandayan, ug miingon sa tigsumpay sa puthaw, 'Maayo kini.' Gilansangan nila kini busa dili na kini mahagsa.

8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend;

Apan ikaw, Israel, akong sulugoon, si Jacob nga akong gipili, ang kaliwat ni Abraham nga akong higala,

9 Thou, whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the midst of its chiefs, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

pagadad-on ko ikaw gikan sa kinatumyan sa kalibotan, ug ikaw nga akong gitawag gikan sa lagyong mga dapit, ako moingon, 'Ikaw akong sulugoon;' gipili ko ikaw ug wala gisalikway.

10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I strengthen thee, yea, I help thee, yea, I uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Ayaw kahadlok, kay magauban ako kanimo. Ayaw kabalaka, kay ako ang imong Dios. Lig-onon ko ikaw ug tabangan, ituboy ko ikaw pinaagi sa tuo ug matarong kong kamot.

11 Behold, ashamed and confounded shall be all that were incensed against thee; they shall be as naught and perish—the men that strive with thee.

Tan-awa, maulawan sila ug mawad-ag dungog, ang tanan nga nasuko kanimo; mahimong walay mga pulos ug mangahanaw, tanan niadtong nakigbatok kanimo.

12 Thou wilt seek them, and shalt not find them, the men that contend with thee; they shall be as naught and as nothing, the men that make war against thee.

Mangita ka ug dili makaplagan kadtong nakigbatok kanimo; mangahanaw kadtong makig-away batok kanimo, sa pagkatibuod mahanaw gayod.

13 For I the Lord thy God lay hold of thy right hand; [I am he] who saith unto thee, Fear not, I help thee.

Tungod kay ako, si Yahweh ang imong Dios, magagunit sa tuo mong kamot, ug moingon kanimo, 'Ayaw kahadlok; tabangan ko ikaw.'

14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye few men of Israel: I myself help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

Ayaw kahadlok, ikaw Jacob nga usa ka ulod, ug kamong katawhan sa Israel; tabangan ko kamo—mao kini ang gipamulong ni Yahweh, ingon nga inyong manluluwas, ang Labing Balaan sa Israel.

15 Behold, I have rendered thee a threshing instrument, sharp, new, having many teeth: thou shalt thresh mountains, and beat them small, and shalt render the hills as chaff.

Tan-awa, himoon ko ikaw nga sama sa hait nga giukanan, bag-o ug duhay-sulab; giukon mo ang mga kabukiran ug dugmokon kini; himoon mo ang mga kabungtoran nga sama sa uhot.

16 Thou shalt scatter them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the storm shall disperse them; but thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, in the Holy One of Israel shalt thou glorify thyself.

Alig-igon mo sila, ug padparon sila sa hangin palayo; pagakatagon sila sa hangin. Maglipay kamo diha kang Yahweh, magmaya kamo sa Labing Balaan sa Israel.

17 The poor and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue is dried up with thirst: I the Lord will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

Ang mga dinaogdaog ug timawa nangita ug tubig, apan wala makakaplag, ug ang ilang mga dila nauga sa kauhaw; Ako, si Yahweh, motubag sa ilang mga pag-ampo; Ako, ang Dios sa Israel, dili mobiya kanila.

18 I will open on naked mountain-peaks rivers, and in the midst of valleys fountains; I will change the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into springs of water.

Paagason ko ang mga tubod diha sa mga bakilid nila nga yuta, ug mga tubod taliwala sa mga walog; himoon ko nga mapuno ug tubig ang disyerto, ug patubigan ko ang mga nagmala nga yuta.

19 I will place in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil-tree; I will set in the desert the fir-tree, the pine and the box-tree together;

Patuboon ko ang mga sedro sa kamingawan, ang mga akasya, mga mirtol, ug ang mga olibo nga kahoy. Patuboon ko usab ang mga sepros sa patag nga disyerto, ug mga palo de tsina ug uban pang mga kahoy.

20 In order that they may see, and know and take [it to heart], and comprehend together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

Buhaton ko kini aron makita sa katawhan, maila, ug masabtan sa tanan, nga ang kamot ni Yahweh mao ang nagbuhat niini, ang Labing Balaang Dios sa Israel ang naghimo niini.

21 Produce your cause, saith the Lord: bring forward your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.

“Ipadayag ang imong sumbong,” Nag-ingon si Yahweh, “Ipadayag ang imong mga pangatarongan alang sa imong diosdios,” Nag-ingon ang Hari ni Jacob.

22 Let them bring them forward and tell us what shall happen: the former things—what are they?—tell us, that we may take it to heart, and know the result of them; or let us hear the things that are to come.

Tugoti sila nga dalahon ang ilang mga pangatarongan nganhi kanamo; paanhia sila ug pasultiha kung unsa ang mahitabo, aron nga masayran namo kining mga butanga. Pasultiha sila kanamo mahitungod sa ilang unang gipanagna, aron nga mapamalandungnan nato kini aron masayran kung kini natuman.

23 Tell the events that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and see it together.

Pagsultig mga butang mahitungod sa umaabot, aron nga masayran namo kung mga dios ba gayod kamo; pagbuhat kamo ug maayo o daotan, aron nga mahadlok kami ug mahibulong.

24 Behold, ye are less than nothing, and your work less than a breath: [he that is] an abomination [alone] chooseth you.

Tan-awa, walay pulos kamo nga mga diosdios ug ang mga butang nga inyong gibuhat kawang; gikasilagan ang tawo nga nagpili kaninyo.

25 I have waked up one from the north, and he cometh; from the rising of the sun one who will call on my name: and he shall [over-]come princes as mortar, and as the potter treadeth down the clay.

Motuboy ako ug usa gikan sa amihan, ug moabot siya; gipatawag ko siya gikan sa sidlakan nga nagsangpit sa akong ngalan, ug tamakan niya ang mga magmamando sama sa lapok, sama sa magkukulon nga naghimog kulon.

26 Who hath told it from the beginning, that we may know it? and aforetimes, that we may say, “it is right?” but indeed there is none that telleth, indeed there is none that letteth us hear, indeed there is none that heareth your words.

Kinsa man ang nagsulti niini gikan sa sinugdanan, aron nga masayod kami? Sa wala pa kini nga panahon, aron nga makasulti kami, “Husto siya”? Sa pagkatinuod wala gayoy nagmando kanila bahin niini, oo, walay nakadungog kaninyo nga nagsulti sa bisan unsang butang.

27 The first [was I to say] to Zion, Behold, there they are; and to Jerusalem will I give one that bringeth good tidings.

Miingon ako pag-una sa Zion, “Tan-awa anaa sila dinhi;” nagpadala ako ug mensahero sa Jerusalem.

28 And I ever look, and there is no man; and among these there is no counsellor, that they could answer a word.

Sa dihang milan-aw ako, walay bisan usa ang anaa, nga gikan kanila nga mihatag ug maayong tambag, kinsa man, sa dihang nangutana ako, ang nagtubag.

29 Behold, they all are naught; their works are nothing: wind and vanity are their molten images.

Tan-awa, silang tanan wala gayoy pulos, ingon man usab ang ilang binuhatan; ang ilang gipangpurma nga mga hulagway usa lamang ka hangin ug walay bili.
