Isaiah 38
1 In those days Hezekiah fell sick unto death; and there came unto him Isaiah the son of Amoz, the prophet, and said unto him, Thus hath said the Lord, Give thy charge to thy house; for thou shalt die, and not live.
Κατ' εκείνας ημέρας ηρρώστησεν ο Εζεκίας εις θάνατον· και ήλθε προς αυτόν Ησαΐας ο προφήτης ο υιός του Αμώς και είπε προς αυτόν, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Διάταξον περί του οίκου σου· επειδή αποθνήσκεις και δεν θέλεις ζήσει.
2 Then did Hezekiah turn his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord.
Τότε έστρεψεν ο Εζεκίας το πρόσωπον αυτού προς τον τοίχον και προσηυχήθη εις τον Κύριον,
3 And he said, O Lord, I beseech thee remember now that I have walked before thee in truth, and with an undivided heart, and have done what is good in thy eyes. And Hezekiah wept aloud.
και είπε, Δέομαι, Κύριε, ενθυμήθητι τώρα πως περιεπάτησα ενώπιόν σου εν αληθεία και εν καρδία τελεία και έπραξα το αρεστόν ενώπιόν σου. Και έκλαυσεν ο Εζεκίας κλαυθμόν μέγαν.
4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
Τότε έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς τον Ησαΐαν λέγων,
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus hath said the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
Ύπαγε και ειπέ προς τον Εζεκίαν, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός του Δαβίδ του πατρός σου· Ήκουσα την προσευχήν σου, είδον τα δάκρυά σου· ιδού, θέλω προσθέσει εις τας ημέρας σου δεκαπέντε έτη·
6 And out of the hand of the king of Assyria will I deliver thee and this city; and I will shield this city.
και θέλω ελευθερώσει σε και την πόλιν ταύτην εκ της χειρός του βασιλέως της Ασσυρίας και θέλω υπερασπισθή την πόλιν ταύτην·
7 And this shall be unto thee the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which he hath spoken:
και τούτο θέλει είσθαι εις σε το σημείον παρά Κυρίου ότι θέλει κάμει ο Κύριος το πράγμα τούτο, το οποίον ελάλησεν·
8 Behold, I will cause the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down on the dial of Achaz by the sun, to return backward ten degrees. So the sun returned ten degrees, by the degrees which he was gone down.
ιδού, θέλω στρέψει οπίσω δέκα βαθμούς την σκιάν των βαθμών, τους οποίους κατέβη εις το ηλιακόν ώρολόγιον του Άχαζ. Και εστράφη ο ήλιος δέκα βαθμούς, διά των οποίων είχε καταβή.
9 The writing of Hezekiah the king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
Ταύτα είναι τα γραφέντα υπό Εζεκίου βασιλέως του Ιούδα, ότε ηρρώστησε και ανέλαβεν εκ της αρρωστίας αυτού·
10 I had said, In the midst of my days, must I enter the gates of the nether world; I am deprived of the residue of my years. (Sheol h7585)
Εγώ είπα, Εν τη μεσημβρία των ημερών μου θέλω υπάγει εις τας πύλας του τάφου· εστερήθην το υπόλοιπον των ετών μου. (Sheol h7585)
11 I had said, I shall not see the Lord, the Lord, in the land of the living: I shall not behold man any more among the inhabitants of the regions of death.
Είπα, δεν θέλω ιδεί πλέον τον Κύριον, τον Κύριον, εν γη ζώντων· δεν θέλω ιδεί πλέον άνθρωπον μετά των κατοίκων του κόσμου.
12 My dwelling is broken down, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off, like a weaver, my life; with pining sickness will he snatch me away: from day until night wilt thou make an end of me.
Η ζωή μου έφυγε και μετετοπίσθη απ' εμού ως ποιμένος σκηνή· εκόπη η ζωή μου ως υπό υφαντού· από του στημονίου θέλει με κόψει· από πρωΐας έως εσπέρας θέλεις με τελειώσει.
13 I waited [with patience] till morning, [whether] as a lion, so would he break all my bones: from day until night wilt thou make an end of me.
Εστοχαζόμην έως πρωΐας, ως λέων θέλει συντρίψει πάντα τα οστά μου· από πρωΐας έως εσπέρας θέλεις με τελειώσει.
14 Like a swallow or a crane, so did I chirp; I did moan like a dove; my eyes were lifted up on high: O Lord, I am oppressed; grant me ease.
Ως γερανός, ως χελιδών, ούτω εψέλλιζον· ωδυρόμην ως τρυγών· οι οφθαλμοί μου απέκαμον ατενίζοντες εις τα άνω. Καταθλίβομαι, Κύριε· ανακούφισόν με.
15 What shall I speak? he hath promised it unto me, and he hath also accomplished it; I will make pilgrimages [to God's house] all my years because of the bitterness of my soul.
Τι να είπω; αυτός και είπε προς εμέ και εξετέλεσε· θέλω διάγει πάντα τα έτη μου εν τη πικρία της ψυχής μου.
16 O Lord, by these [things men] will live, and in all these [things] is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou give me health, and cause me to live.
Εν τούτοις, Κύριε, ζώσιν οι άνθρωποι, και εν πάσι τούτοις υπάρχει ζωή του πνεύματός μου· συ βεβαίως με θεραπεύεις και με αναζωοποιείς.
17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness; but thou hast, in loving my soul, delivered it from the pit of corruption; for thou hast cast behind thy back all my sins.
Ιδού, αντί ειρήνης επήλθεν επ' εμέ μεγάλη πικρία· αλλά συ, δι' αγάπην της ψυχής μου, ελύτρωσας αυτήν από του λάκκου της φθοράς· διότι έρριψας οπίσω των νώτων σου πάσας τας αμαρτίας μου.
18 For the nether world will not thank thee, death will not praise thee: they that go down into the pit will not hope for thy truth. (Sheol h7585)
Διότι ο τάφος δεν θέλει σε υμνήσει· ο θάνατος δεν θέλει σε δοξολογήσει· οι καταβαίνοντες εις τον λάκκον δεν θέλουσιν ελπίζει επί την αλήθειάν σου. (Sheol h7585)
19 The living, the living alone shall thank thee, like me this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
Ο ζων, ο ζων, αυτός θέλει σε υμνεί, καθώς εγώ ταύτην την ημέραν· ο πατήρ θέλει εις τα τέκνα γνωστοποιήσει την αλήθειάν σου.
20 The Lord is there to help me; therefore we will play my hymns all the days of our life in the house of the Lord.
Ο Κύριος ήλθε να με σώση· διά τούτο θέλομεν ψάλλει το άσμά μου επί εντεταμένων οργάνων πάσας τας ημέρας της ζωής ημών εν τω οίκω του Κυρίου.
21 And Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaster upon the inflammation, and he shall recover.
Διότι ο Ησαΐας είχεν ειπεί, Ας λάβωσι παλάθην σύκων και ας βάλωσιν αυτήν ως έμπλαστρον επί το έλκος και θέλει ιατρευθή.
22 And Hezekiah had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord?
Και ο Εζεκίας είχεν ειπεί, Τι είναι το σημείον ότι εγώ θέλω αναβή εις τον οίκον του Κυρίου;
