Isaiah 35
1 The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad thereat; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the lily.
Korvet ja erämaat pitää iloitseman, ja autio sia pitää iloinen oleman, ja niinkuin kukkanen kukoistaman.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice, yea, with joy and singing; the glory of the Lebanon shall be given unto it, the elegance of Carmel and Sharon; they indeed shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
Hän on kasvain vihoittava ja seisova riemuisna kaikessa ilossa ja riemussa; sillä Libanonin kunnia annetaan hänelle, Karmelin ja Saronin kaunistus; ja he näkevät Herran kunnian ja meidän Jumalan kauneuden.
3 Strengthen ye weak hands, and stumbling knees make ye firm.
Vahvistakaat väsyneet kädet, ja tuetkaat nääntyneet polvet.
4 Say to the timid of heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God, [with] vengeance will he come, with God's recompense; it is he who will come and save you.
Sanokaat heikkomielisille: olkaat turvassa ja älkäät peljätkö; katso, teidän Jumalanne tulee kostamaan, Jumala, joka maksaa, hän tulee ja vapahtaa teidät.
5 Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Silloin avataan sokiain silmät, ja kuuroin korvat aukenevat.
6 Then shall the lame leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and brooks in the desert.
Silloin rammat hyppäävät niinkuin peurat, ja mykkäin kieli pakahtuu kiitokseen; sillä korvessa pitää vedet vuotaman, ja virrat erämaassa.
7 And the sandy waste shall be changed into a pool, and the thirsty land into springs of water: in the habitation of monsters, where each one used to lie, shall be a court for reeds and rushes.
Ja karkia paikka pitää järveksi tuleman, ja kuiva maa kuohuvaksi vedeksi; ja kuopassa, jossa kärme makasi, pitää heinän, ruovon ja kaislan oleman.
8 And there shall be a highway and a way, and The holy way, shall it be called; no unclean one shall pass over it; but it shall be [only] theirs; the wayfaring man, and those unacquainted [therewith], shall not go astray.
Siinä myös pitää matka ja tie oleman, joka pitää pyhäksi tieksi kutsuttaman, ettei kenkään saastainen sitä vaeltaisi, ja se pitää heidän edessänsä oleman; jota käydään, niin ettei tyhmäkään eksy.
9 No lion shall be there, and no ravenous beast shall go up thereon, shall not be found there; but there shall walk the redeemed:
Ei siellä jalopeura oleman pidä, eikä joku julma peto mene sitä myöten, eli sieltä löydetä; vaan lunastetut sitä vaeltavat.
10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with song, with everlasting joy upon their head; gladness and joy shall they obtain, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Herran lunastetut palajavat ja tulevat sen kautta riemulla Zioniin, ja ijankaikkinen ilo on oleva heidän päänsä päällä. Ilon ja riemun he käsittävät, ja murhe ja huokaus pitää pakeneman.
