Isaiah 3
1 For, behold, the Lord, the Eternal of hosts, doth remove from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, every stay of bread, and every stay of water.
Maka sesungguhnya Tuhan, TUHAN semesta alam, akan menjauhkan dari Yerusalem dan dari Yehuda setiap orang yang mereka andalkan, segala persediaan makanan dan minuman:
2 The hero, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
pahlawan dan orang perang, hakim dan nabi, petenung dan tua-tua,
3 The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the skilful artificer, and the eloquent orator.
perwira dan orang yang terpandang, penasihat dan ahli sihir, dan orang yang paham mantera.
4 And I will set up boys as their princes, and children shall rule over them.
Aku akan mengangkat pemuda-pemuda menjadi pemimpin mereka, dan anak-anak akan memerintah atas mereka.
5 And so shall the people press man against man, and one against the other: the boy shall demean himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable.
Maka bangsa itu akan desak-mendesak, seorang kepada seorang, yang satu kepada yang lain; orang muda akan membentak-bentak terhadap orang tua, orang hina terhadap orang mulia.
6 When a man will seize hold on his brother in the house of his father, [saying, ] Thou hast a garment, thou shalt be our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
Sehingga apabila seorang memegang saudaranya di rumah ayahnya dan berkata: "Engkau masih mempunyai jubah, jadilah pemimpin kami, dan reruntuhan ini di bawah kuasamu",
7 He will swear on that day, saying, I will not be a chief; and in my house is neither bread nor clothing; you shall not appoint me a ruler of the people.
maka pada waktu itu saudaranya akan menjawab: "Aku tidak mau menjadi tabib; di rumahku tidak ada roti dan tidak ada jubah; janganlah angkat aku menjadi pemimpin bangsa."
8 For Jerusalem is sunk to decay, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to incense the eyes of his glory.
Sungguh, Yerusalem telah runtuh dan Yehuda telah rubuh; sebab perkataan mereka dan perbuatan mereka melawan TUHAN dan mereka menantang kemuliaan hadirat-Nya.
9 The boldness of their face testifieth against them; and like Sodom they tell openly their sin, they conceal it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have prepared evil unto themselves.
Air muka mereka menyatakan kejahatan mereka, dan seperti orang Sodom, mereka dengan terang-terangan menyebut-nyebut dosanya, tidak lagi disembunyikannya. Celakalah orang-orang itu! Sebab mereka mendatangkan malapetaka kepada dirinya sendiri.
10 Say ye to the righteous, that he hath done well; for the fruit of their doings shall they eat.
Katakanlah berbahagia orang benar! Sebab mereka akan memakan hasil pekerjaannya.
11 Woe unto the wicked who doeth evil; for the recompense of his hands shall be bestowed on him.
Celakalah orang fasik! Malapetaka akan menimpanya, sebab mereka akan diperlakukan menurut perbuatannya sendiri.
12 My people! their oppressors are children, and women rule over them. O my people! thy leaders cause thee to err, and the direction of thy paths they corrupt.
Adapun umat-Ku, penguasa mereka ialah anak-anak, dan perempuan-perempuan memerintah atasnya. Hai umat-Ku, pemimpin-pemimpinmu adalah penyesat, dan jalan yang kamu tempuh mereka kacaukan!
13 The Lord is stepped forth to plead, and standeth up to judge the people.
TUHAN mengambil tempat untuk menuntut dan berdiri untuk mengadili bangsa-bangsa.
14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and their princes; but ye—ye have eaten up the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.
TUHAN bertindak sebagai hakim atas tua-tua dan pemimpin-pemimpin umat-Nya: "Kamulah yang memusnahkan kebun anggur itu, barang rampasan dari orang yang tertindas tertumpuk di dalam rumahmu.
15 What mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind down the faces of the poor? saith the Lord the Eternal of hosts.
Mengapa kamu menyiksa umat-Ku dan menganiaya orang-orang yang tertindas?" demikianlah firman Tuhan ALLAH semesta alam.
16 And the Lord said, Forasmuch as the daughters of Zion are proud, and walk with stretched forth necks and casting about their eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
TUHAN berfirman: Oleh karena wanita Sion telah menjadi sombong dan telah berjalan dengan jenjang leher dan dengan main mata, berjalan dengan dibuat-buat langkahnya dan gemerencing dengan giring-giring kakinya,
17 Therefore will the Lord smite with leprosy the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay open their nakedness.
maka Tuhan akan membuat batu kepala wanita Sion penuh kudis dan TUHAN akan mencukur rambut sebelah dahi mereka.
18 On that day will the Lord take away the beauty of their tinkling shoe-buckles, and the hair-nets, and the crescent-shaped ornaments,
Pada waktu itu Tuhan akan menjauhkan segala perhiasan mereka: gelang-gelang kaki, jamang-jamang dan bulan-bulanan;
19 The drops, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
perhiasan-perhiasan telinga, pontoh-pontoh dan kerudung-kerudung;
20 The bonnets, and the foot-chains, and the head-bands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
perhiasan-perhiasan kepala, gelang-gelang rantai kaki, tali-tali pinggang, tempat-tempat wewangian dan jimat-jimat;
21 The finger-rings, and nose-jewels,
cincin meterai dan anting-anting hidung;
22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the pockets.
pakaian-pakaian pesta, jubah-jubah, selendang-selendang dan pundi-pundi;
23 The mirrors, and the chemisettes, and the turbans, and the long vails.
cermin-cermin, baju-baju dalam dari kain lenan, ikat-ikat kepala dan baju-baju luar.
24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be corruption; and instead of a girdle a rope; and instead of curled hair baldness; and instead of a wide garment a girding of sackcloth, a mark of burning instead of beauty.
Maka sebagai ganti rempah-rempah harum akan ada bau busuk, sebagai ganti ikat pinggang seutas tali, sebagai ganti selampit rambut kepala yang gundul, sebagai ganti pakaian hari raya sehelai kain kabung; dan tanda selar sebagai ganti kemolekan.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty ones in the war.
Orang-orangmu akan tewas oleh pedang, dan pahlawan-pahlawanmu oleh perang.
26 And then shall her gates lament and mourn; and stript of all shall she sit upon the ground.
Pintu-pintu gerbang Sion akan mengaduh dan berkabung, dan kota itu akan seperti perempuan bulus yang duduk di bumi.
