Isaiah 23
1 The doom of Tyre. Wail, ye ships of Tharshish; for it is laid waste, without house, without entrance: from the land of Kittim hath it been revealed to them.
സോരിനെതിരേയുള്ള പ്രവചനം: തർശീശ് കപ്പലുകളേ, വിലപിക്കുക! ഒരു ഭവനമോ തുറമുഖമോ അവശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം സോർ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. കിത്തീം ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് അവർക്ക് ഇതിനെപ്പറ്റി വിവരം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 Be silent, ye inhabitants of the coast-land: the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea [formerly] filled thee.
ദ്വീപുനിവാസികളേ, സമുദ്രയാനംചെയ്യുന്നവരാൽ സമ്പന്നരാക്കപ്പെട്ട സീദോന്യ വ്യാപാരികളേ, നിശ്ശബ്ദരായിരിക്കുക.
3 And on mighty waters [came] the seed of Shichor, the harvest of the stream, as her revenue; and she became the mart of nations.
സമുദ്രത്തിലൂടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന സീഹോറിലെ ധാന്യവും നൈൽനദീതടത്തിലെ വിളവും ആയിരുന്നല്ലോ സോരിന്റെ വരുമാനമാർഗം, അവൾ ജനതകളുടെ ചന്തസ്ഥലമായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
4 Be ashamed, O Zion; for spoken hath the sea, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I travailed not, nor brought forth children, neither did I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
സീദോനേ, സമുദ്രത്തിലെ കോട്ടയേ, ലജ്ജിക്കുക, “ഞാൻ ഈറ്റുനോവ് അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, പ്രസവിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല; ഞാൻ ബാലന്മാരെ വളർത്തിയിട്ടില്ല, കന്യകകളെ പോറ്റിയിട്ടുമില്ല,” എന്ന് സമുദ്രം പറയുന്നു.
5 As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they tremble at the report of Tyre.
ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ ഈ വാർത്തയെത്തുമ്പോൾ, സോരിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർത്തകേട്ട് അവർ വേദനിക്കും.
6 Pass ye over to Tharshish; wail, ye inhabitants of the coast-land.
ദ്വീപുനിവാസികളേ, മുറയിടുക; തർശീശിലേക്കു കടന്നുചെല്ലുക.
7 Is this your fate, ye of the joyous [city]? she whose antiquity is of ancient days—her own feet shall carry her, afar off to sojourn.
പുരാതനകാലം മുതലേയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ ആഹ്ലാദത്തിമിർപ്പിന്റെ നഗരമോ ഇത്? അവളുടെ കാൽതന്നെ വിദൂരദേശങ്ങളിൽ അധിവസിക്കുന്നതിന് അവളെ വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകും.
8 Who hath resolved this against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the honorable of the earth?
കിരീടമണിയിക്കുന്നവരായ, വ്യാപാരികൾ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ അതിലെ കച്ചവടക്കാർ ഭൂമിയിൽ കീർത്തികേട്ടവരുമായ മഹാനഗരമായ സോരിനെതിരേ ആരാണ് ഈ പദ്ധതി ഒരുക്കിയത്?
9 The Lord hath resolved it, to dishonor the pride of all ornament, to make of light esteem all the honorable of the earth.
അവളുടെ സർവപ്രതാപത്തിന്റെയും ഗർവത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കാനും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലബഹുമാന്യരെയും നിന്ദിതരാക്കാനുംവേണ്ടി സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അതു നിർണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
10 Pass through thy land as a stream, O daughter of Tharshish: there is no more strength.
തർശീശ്പുത്രീ, ഇനി നിന്നെ തടയാൻ ആരുമില്ലായ്കയാൽ ഒരു നദിപോലെ ഒഴുകി ദേശത്തിനു കുറുകെ പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളുക.
11 He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken kingdoms; the Lord hath given a command against Canaan, to subvert its strongholds.
അവിടന്നു തന്റെ കൈ കടലുകൾക്കു മീതേ നീട്ടി, അവിടന്നു രാജ്യങ്ങളെ നടുക്കി. യഹോവ കനാനെക്കുറിച്ച് അതിന്റെ ശക്തികേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ തകർത്തുകളയുന്നതിനു കൽപ്പന കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
12 And he said, Thou shalt no longer rejoice any more, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to the Kittim; also there shalt thou have no rest.
അവിടന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട കന്യകയായ സീദോൻപുത്രീ, നീ ഇനി ആനന്ദിക്കുകയില്ല! “എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, കിത്തീമിലേക്കു കടന്നുചെല്ലുക; അവിടെയും നിനക്കു വിശ്രമം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല.”
13 Behold the land of the Chaldeans—this people which was not, Asshur founded it for the dwellers in the wilderness—they have set up their watchtowers, have overthrown its palaces, have rendered it a heap of ruins.
ഇതാ, ബാബേല്യരുടെ രാജ്യം, അവിടത്തെ ജനം ഒരു പരിഗണനയും അർഹിക്കാത്തവരായി! മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കായി അശ്ശൂർ അതിനെ നിയമിച്ചു; അവർ ഉപരോധഗോപുരങ്ങൾ പണിതു; അതിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ഇടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു അവർ അതിനെ ശൂന്യകൂമ്പാരമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.
14 Wail, ye ships of Tharshish; your stronghold is laid waste.
തർശീശ് കപ്പലുകളേ, വിലപിക്കുക; നിങ്ങളുടെ ശക്തികേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 And it shall come to pass on that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, like the days of one king: at the end of seventy years shall it happen to Tyre as in the song of the harlot.
അന്ന്, ഒരു രാജാവിന്റെ കാലമായ, എഴുപതു വർഷത്തേക്കു സോർ വിസ്മൃതിയിലാണ്ടുപോകും. എന്നാൽ ആ എഴുപതു വർഷത്തിനുശേഷം വേശ്യയുടെ പാട്ടുപോലെതന്നെ സോരിനു സംഭവിക്കും.
16 “Take the harp, go round about the city, thou forgotten harlot; make sweet music, sing many songs, in order that thou mayest be remembered.”
“വിസ്മൃതിയിലാണ്ടുപോയ വേശ്യയേ, നിന്റെ വീണയുമെടുത്തുകൊണ്ട്, നഗരത്തിൽ ചുറ്റിനടക്കുക; അതു നന്നായി മീട്ടുക, നീ ഓർമിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്, അനവധി ഗാനങ്ങൾ ആലപിക്കുക.”
17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the Lord will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall have commerce with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
ആ എഴുപതു വർഷങ്ങൾക്കുശേഷം യഹോവ സോരിനെ സന്ദർശിക്കും. അവൾ തന്റെ വേശ്യാവൃത്തിയുടെ പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കാൻ തിരിച്ചുപോയി. ഭൂമുഖത്തുള്ള എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളോടും അവൾ ലാഭംകൊയ്യുന്ന വേശ്യാവൃത്തിയിൽ ഏർപ്പെടും.
18 And her gain and her hire shall be holy to the Lord: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; but for those that dwell before the Lord shall her gain be, to eat to fulness, and for magnificent clothing.
എന്നാൽ അവളുടെ ലാഭവും സമ്പാദ്യവും യഹോവയ്ക്കായി വേർതിരിക്കപ്പെടും; അതു ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുകയോ പൂഴ്ത്തിവെക്കപ്പെടുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല. അവളുടെ ലാഭമെല്ലാം യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് വേണ്ടുവോളം ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനും നല്ല വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുന്നതിനും ഉപയുക്തമാക്കും.
