Isaiah 22
1 The doom of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the roofs?
La carga del valle de la visión. ¿Qué os aflige ahora, que todos habéis subido a los tejados?
2 O noiseful, tumultuous city, joyous town? thy slain ones are not slain with the sword, and not those that die in battle.
Tú que estás llena de gritos, ciudad tumultuosa, pueblo alegre, tus muertos no son muertos a espada, ni son muertos en la batalla.
3 All thy rulers are fled together, they are made prisoners by the bowmen: all that are found in thee are made prisoners together, who have run away from afar.
Todos tus gobernantes huyeron juntos. Fueron atados por los arqueros. Todos los que fueron encontrados por ti fueron atados juntos. Huyeron lejos.
4 Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly; be not urgent to comfort me, because of the wasting of the daughter of my people.
Por eso dije: “Mira lejos de mí. Lloraré amargamente. No te esfuerces en consolarme por la destrucción de la hija de mi pueblo.
5 For a day of confusion, and of treading down, and of perplexity hath the Lord Eternal of hosts in the valley of vision; walls are broken, and crying is heard against the mountain.
Porque es un día de confusión, de pisoteo y de perplejidad de parte del Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, en el valle de la visión, de derrumbe de los muros y de clamor a los montes”.
6 And 'Elam beareth the quiver, [cometh] with men in chariots and horsemen, and Kir uncovereth the shield.
Elam llevaba su carcaj, con carros de hombres y jinetes, y Kir descubría el escudo.
7 And it is so, that thy choicest valleys are full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array against the gate.
Sus valles más selectos se llenaron de carros, y los jinetes se dispusieron en la puerta.
8 And he laid open the covering of Judah; and thou didst look on that day toward the armor of the house of the forest.
Quitó la cubierta de Judá; y miraste en aquel día la armadura en la casa del bosque.
9 And the breaches of the city of David have ye seen, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
Viste las brechas de la ciudad de David, que eran muchas; y recogiste las aguas del estanque inferior.
10 And the houses of Jerusalem have ye numbered, and ye have pulled down the houses to fortify the wall.
Contaste las casas de Jerusalén, y derribaste las casas para fortificar la muralla.
11 And a tank have ye made between the two walls for the water of the old pool; but ye have not looked at the Maker thereof, him that fashioned it in distant times have ye not regarded.
También hiciste un depósito entre las dos murallas para el agua del estanque viejo. Pero no miraste al que había hecho esto, ni tuviste respeto por el que lo había planeado hace tiempo.
12 And the Lord Eternal of hosts called on that day for weeping, and for mourning, and for baldness, and for girding with sackcloth.
En aquel día, el Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, llamó al llanto, al luto, a la calvicie y a vestirse de cilicio;
13 And behold [there are] gladness and joy, slaying of oxen, and killing of sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we must die.”
y he aquí que hay alegría y gozo, matando ganado y matando ovejas, comiendo carne y bebiendo vino: “Comamos y bebamos, porque mañana moriremos.”
14 And it was revealed in my ears by the Lord of hosts: Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven unto you until ye die, said the Lord the Eternal of hosts.
El Señor de los Ejércitos se reveló a mis oídos: “Ciertamente esta iniquidad no te será perdonada hasta que mueras”, dice el Señor, el Señor de los Ejércitos.
15 Thus hath said the Lord, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, who is [superintendent] over the house;
El Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, dice: “Ve, acude a este tesorero, a Sebna, que está al frente de la casa, y dile:
16 What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewn out for thyself here a sepulchre, [the man] that hath hewn out on high his sepulchre, that holloweth out in the rock a habitation for himself?
‘¿Qué haces aquí? ¿Quién te tiene aquí, que has cavado una tumba aquí?’ Se está cavando una tumba en lo alto, cincelando una morada para sí mismo en la roca!”
17 Behold, the Lord will thrust thee about with a mighty throw, O man! and will lay fast hold of thee;
He aquí que el Señor te vencerá y te arrojará con violencia. Sí, te sujetará con firmeza.
18 He will roll thee up as a bundle, and [toss thee] like a ball into a country of ample space: there shalt thou die, and there shall [remain] the chariots of thy glory, thou disgrace of the house of thy lord.
Seguramente te hará dar vueltas y vueltas, y te arrojará como una pelota a un gran país. Allí morirás, y allí estarán los carros de tu gloria, tú, desgracia de la casa de tu señor.
19 And I will cast thee out from thy station, and from thy post shall he pull thee down.
Te expulsaré de tu cargo. Serás derribado de tu puesto.
20 And it shall come to pass on that day, that I will call my servant, for Elyakim the son of Chilkiyahu.
Sucederá en ese día que llamaré a mi siervo Eliaquim, hijo de Hilcías,
21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and thy girdle will I fasten around him, and thy government will I place into his hand: and he shall be as a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
y lo vestiré con tu túnica, y lo fortaleceré con tu cinturón. Pondré tu gobierno en sus manos, y será un padre para los habitantes de Jerusalén y para la casa de Judá.
22 And I will lay the key of the house of David upon his shoulder; so that he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
Pondré la llave de la casa de David sobre su hombro. Él abrirá, y nadie cerrará. El cerrará, y nadie abrirá.
23 And I will fasten him as a tent-nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a chair of honor to his father's house.
Lo fijaré como un clavo en un lugar seguro. Será para la casa de su padre un trono de gloria.
24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the shoots and offshoots, all the small vessels, from the vessels of basins, even to all the vessels of flagons.
De él colgarán toda la gloria de la casa de su padre, la descendencia y el caudal, toda vasija pequeña, desde las copas hasta todos los cántaros.
25 On that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall be removed the nail that is fastened in the sure place, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that is upon it shall be cut off; for the Lord hath spoken it.
“En aquel día — dice el Señor de los Ejércitos — el clavo que estaba fijado en un lugar seguro cederá. Será cortado y caerá. La carga que llevaba será cortada, porque Yahvé lo ha dicho”.
