Isaiah 20

1 In the year that Tharthan came unto Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and fought against Ashdod, and captured it;

El año cuando el Tartán vino a Asdod enviado por Sargón, rey de Asiria, la atacó y la conquistó.

2 At the same time spoke the Lord by means of Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loosen the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy shoe shalt thou pull off from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

En aquel tiempo Yavé habló por medio de Isaías, hijo de Amoz: Vé, despójate de la tela áspera que tienes en la cintura y quita las sandalias de tus pies. Lo hizo así y andaba desnudo y descalzo.

3 And the Lord said, Just as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years as a sign and token for Egypt and for Cush:

Después Yavé dijo: Así como mi esclavo Isaías anduvo desnudo y descalzo tres años como señal y pronóstico contra Egipto y Etiopía,

4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the prisoners of Egypt, and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with uncovered buttocks, to the disgrace of Egypt.

el rey de Asiria conducirá a los cautivos de Egipto y a los desterrados de Etiopía, jóvenes y ancianos, desnudos y descalzos, con las nalgas descubiertas, para vergüenza de Egipto.

5 And they shall be terrified, and ashamed of Cush their trust, and of Egypt their vaunt.

Entonces serán atemorizados y avergonzados por causa de Etiopía, su esperanza, y de Egipto, su jactancia.

6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say on that day, Behold, such is our trust, whither we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we then escape?

Aquel día el habitante de esta costa dirá: ¡Miren! ¡Esto es lo que sucedió a aquellos en los cuales confiábamos y esperábamos, a los cuales huiríamos en busca de auxilio para que nos libraran del rey de Asiria! [Ahora], ¿cómo escaparemos?
