Isaiah 2
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz foresaw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
यहूदिया और येरूशलेम के विषय में आमोज़ के पुत्र यशायाह ने दर्शन देखा:
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be firmly established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and unto it shall flow all the nations.
कि अंत के दिनों में वह पर्वत और पहाड़ जिस पर याहवेह का भवन है; उसे दृढ़ और ऊंचा किया जायेगा, और सब जाति के लोग बहती हुई नदी के समान उस ओर आएंगे.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us of his ways, and we may walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord out of Jerusalem.
और कहेंगे, “आओ, हम याहवेह के पर्वत, याकोब के परमेश्वर के भवन को चलें. कि वह हमें अपने नियम सिखाएं, और हम उनके मार्गों पर चलें.” क्योंकि ज़ियोन से व्यवस्था निकलेगी, और येरूशलेम से याहवेह का वचन आएगा.
4 And he will judge among the nations, and decide for many people; and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-knives: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, and they shall not learn any more war.
परमेश्वर राज्यों के बीच न्याय करेंगे और लोगों की परेशानियां दूर करेंगे. तब वे अपनी तलवारों को पीट-पीटकर हल के फाल तथा अपने भालों को हंसिया बना लेंगे. एक देश दूसरे के विरुद्ध तलवार नहीं उठायेगा, तथा उन्हें फिर कभी लड़ने के लिए तैयार नहीं किया जाएगा.
5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.
याकोब के लोग आओ, हम याहवेह के प्रकाश में चलें.
6 For thou hast abandoned thy people, the house of Jacob, because they are full of [witchcraft] more than the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and with the children of strangers they unite themselves.
याहवेह, ने तो अपनी प्रजा, याकोब के वंश को छोड़ दिया है. क्योंकि वे पूर्णतः पूर्वी लोगों के समान हो गये; और फिलिस्तीनियों के समान उनकी सोच और काम हो गया है.
7 And full became their land of silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures; and full became their land of horses, and there is no end to their chariots;
उनका देश भी सोना और चांदी से भरा है; और उनके पास धन की कमी नहीं. और उनका देश घोड़ों और रथों से भरा है.
8 And full became their land of idols; to the work of their own hands they bow themselves, to what their own fingers have made.
उनका देश मूर्तियों से भरा है; जो अपने हाथों से बनाया हुआ है.
9 And so is bent down the son of earth, and humbled the man; and thou wilt not forgive them.
और मनुष्य उसके सामने झुकते और प्रणाम करते हैं, इसलिये उन्हें माफ नहीं किया जाएगा.
10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, because of the dread of the Lord, and because of the glory of his majesty.
याहवेह के डर तथा उनके प्रताप के तेज के कारण चट्टान में चले जाओ और छिप जाओ!
11 The looks of human pride shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bent down: and exalted shall be the Lord alone on that day.
मनुष्यों का घमंड नीचा करके; याहवेह को ऊंचा किया जायेगा.
12 For there is a day [of judgment] unto the Lord of hosts over every proud and lofty one; and over every exalted one, that he be brought low;
क्योंकि हर घमंडी एवं अहंकारी व्यक्ति के लिए सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह ने दिन ठहराया है, उस दिन उनका घमंड तोड़ दिया जाएगा,
13 And over all the cedars of the Lebanon, the high and exalted, and over all the oaks of Bashan;
और लबानोन के समस्त ऊंचे देवदारों, तथा बाशान के सब बांज वृक्षों पर,
14 And over all the high mountains, and over all the exalted hills;
समस्त ऊंचे पहाडों और ऊंची पहाड़ियों पर,
15 And over every high tower, and over every fortified wall;
समस्त ऊंचे गुम्मटों और सब शहरपनाहों पर और,
16 And over all the ships of Tharshish; and over all desirable palaces.
तरशीश के सब जहाजों तथा सब सुंदर चित्रकारी पर.
17 And the pride of man shall be bent down, and the haughtiness of men shall be humbled: and exalted shall be the Lord alone on that day.
जो मनुष्य का घमंड और अहंकार है दूर किया जाएगा; और केवल याहवेह ही ऊंचे पर विराजमान होगा,
18 And the idols will he utterly abolish.
सब मूर्तियां नष्ट कर दी जाएंगी.
19 And men shall enter into the caverns of rocks, and into the rifts of the earth, because of the dread of the Lord, and because of the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to terrify the earth.
जब याहवेह पृथ्वी को कंपित करने के लिए उठेंगे तब उनके भय तथा प्रताप के तेज के कारण मनुष्य चट्टानों की गुफाओं में तथा भूमि के गड्ढों में जा छिपेंगे.
20 On that day shall a man cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which have been made for him to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
उस दिन मनुष्य अपनी सोने-चांदी की मूर्तियां जिन्हें उन्होंने बनाई थी, उन्हें छछूंदरों और चमगादड़ों के सामने फेंक देंगे.
21 To enter into the clefts of the rocks, and into the hollows of the cliffs, because of the dread of the Lord, and because of the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to terrify the earth.
जब याहवेह पृथ्वी को कंपित करने के लिए उठेंगे तब उनके भय तथा उनके प्रताप के तेज के कारण, मनुष्य चट्टानों की गुफाओं में तथा चट्टानों में जा छिपेंगे.
22 Withdraw yourselves [then] from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; because, for what is he to be esteemed?
तुम मनुष्यों से दूर रहो, जिनका सांस कुछ पल का है. जिनका कोई महत्व नहीं.
