< Isaiah 17 >

1 The doom of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is deprived of being a city, and it shall become decaying ruins.
Ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ tí ó kan Damasku: “Kíyèsi i, Damasku kò ní jẹ́ ìlú mọ́ ṣùgbọ́n yóò padà di ààtàn.
2 Forsaken are the cities of 'Aro'er: they shall be [given up] to flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
Àwọn ìlú Aroeri ni a ó kọ̀sílẹ̀ fún àwọn agbo ẹran tí yóò máa sùn síbẹ̀, láìsí ẹni tí yóò dẹ́rùbà wọ́n.
3 And there shall cease the fortress from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: like the glory of the children of Israel shall they be, saith the Lord of hosts.
Ìlú olódi ni yóò pòórá kúrò ní Efraimu, àti agbára ọba kúrò ní Damasku; àwọn àṣẹ́kù Aramu yóò dá gẹ́gẹ́ bí ògo ti àwọn Israẹli,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
4 And it shall come to pass on that day, that the glory of Jacob shall vanish, and the fatness of his flesh shall become lean.
“Ní ọjọ́ náà ni ògo Jakọbu yóò sá; ọ̀rá ara rẹ̀ yóò ṣòfò dànù.
5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the standing-corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as when one gleaneth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
Yóò sì dàbí ìgbà tí olùkórè kó àwọn irúgbìn tí ó dúró jọ tí ó sì ń kórè irúgbìn pẹ̀lú apá rẹ̀— àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìgbà tí ènìyàn pa ọkà ní àfonífojì ti Refaimu.
6 And there shall be left on it gleaning-fruit, as one shaketh an olive-tree, two or three berries on the top of the uppermost bough, four or five on the outmost branches of a fruitful tree, saith the Lord the God of Israel.
Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ irúgbìn díẹ̀ yóò ṣẹ́kù, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìgbà tí a gbọn igi olifi, tí èso olifi méjì tàbí mẹ́ta ṣẹ́kù sórí ẹ̀ka tí ó ga jùlọ, mẹ́rin tàbí márùn-ún lórí ẹ̀ka tí ó so jù,” ni Olúwa wí, àní Ọlọ́run Israẹli.
7 On that day shall a man turn his regard up to his Maker, and his eyes shall look toward the Holy One of Israel.
Ní ọjọ́ náà, àwọn ènìyàn yóò gbójú sókè sí Ẹlẹ́dàá wọn, wọn yóò sì síjú wo Ẹni Mímọ́ Israẹli.
8 And he shall not turn his regard to the altars, the work of his hands; and he shall not look at what his fingers have made, both the groves and the sun-images.
Wọn kò ní wo àwọn pẹpẹ mọ́, èyí tí í ṣe iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ wọn, wọn kò sì ní kọbi ara sí ère Aṣerah mọ́ tàbí pẹpẹ tùràrí tí ìka ọwọ́ wọn ti ṣe.
9 On that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken ruin in a forest, and on a mountain-peak, which they left because of the children of Israel: and the land shall be desolate.
Ní ọjọ́ náà àwọn ìlú alágbára rẹ̀, yóò dàbí ẹ̀ka ìkọ̀sílẹ̀, àti ẹ̀ka téńté òkè tí wọ́n fi sílẹ̀ nítorí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli. Gbogbo wọn yóò sì di ahoro.
10 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and the rock of thy strength thou hast not remembered; therefore wouldst thou plant luxuriant plantings, and wouldst set out the shoots of the stranger therein.
Nítorí ìwọ ti gbàgbé Ọlọ́run ìgbàlà rẹ; tí ìwọ kò sì náání àpáta ìgbàlà rẹ̀, nítorí náà ni ìwọ ti gbin ọ̀gbìn dáradára ìwọ sì tọ́ àjèjì ẹ̀ka sínú rẹ̀.
11 [Already] on the day that thou plantedst thou causedst to grow, and in the morning thou madest thy seed to blossom; but now fleeth the harvest on the day of disease and of incurable pain.
Nítorí náà, bí ẹ tilẹ̀ mú àṣàyàn igi tí ẹ sì gbin àjàrà tí ó ti òkèrè wá, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ọjọ́ tí ẹ kó wọn jáde ẹ mú wọn hù jáde, àti ní òwúrọ̀ tí ẹ gbìn wọ́n ẹ mú kí wọ́n rúdí, síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ ìkórè kò ní mú nǹkan wá ní ọjọ́ ààrùn àti ìrora tí kò gbóògùn.
12 Woe to the raging of many people, who rage like the raging of the seas; and to the noise of nations, that make a noise like the roar of mighty waters!
Kíyèsi i, ìrunú àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè— wọ́n ń runú bí ìgbì Òkun! Kíyèsi i, rògbòdìyàn tí ogunlọ́gọ̀ ènìyàn wọ́n bú ramúramù gẹ́gẹ́ bí ariwo odò ńlá!
13 The nations will make a noise like the roaring of many waters; but He will rebuke it, and it shall flee afar off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and as thistle-down before the tempest.
Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé àwọn ènìyàn ń bú ramúramù gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìrúmi odò, nígbà tí ó bá wọn wí wọ́n sálọ jìnnà réré, a tì wọ́n lọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìyàngbò ní orí òkè, àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí ewéko níwájú ìjì líle.
14 At eveningtide, behold, there is trouble; before yet it is morning it is no more. This is the portion of our spoilers, and the lot of those that plunder us.
Ní aginjù, ìpayà òjijì! Kí ó tó di òwúrọ̀, a ò rí wọn mọ́! Èyí ni ìpín àwọn tí ó jí wa lẹ́rù, àti ìpín àwọn tí ó fi ogun kó wa.
