Isaiah 14
1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will again make choice of Israel, and replace them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined unto them, and they shall attach themselves to the house of Jacob.
Porque o SENHOR terá piedade de Jacó, e ainda escolherá a Israel, e os porá em sua terra; e estrangeiros se juntarão a eles, e se apegarão à casa de Jacó.
2 And nations shall take them, and bring them to their own place; but the house of Israel shall obtain possession of them in the land of the Lord for men-servants and for maid-servants; and they shall take captive their captors, and they shall rule over their oppressors.
E os povos os receberão, e os levarão a seus lugares, e a casa de Israel terá posse deles como servos e servas, na terra do SENHOR; e capturarão aos que tinham lhes capturado, e dominarão sobre seus opressores.
3 And it shall come to pass on the day when the Lord will give thee rest from thy trouble, and from thy vexation, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
E será que, no dia em que o SENHOR te der descanso de teu trabalho e de teu tormento, e da dura escravidão que te escravizaram,
4 That thou wilt take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath ceased the oppressor! ceased the exactress of gold!
Então levantarás estas palavras de escárnio contra o rei da Babilônia, e dirás: [Vede] como foi o fim do opressor, como a cidade dourada se acabou!
5 Broken hath the Lord the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of rulers;
O SENHOR quebrou o bastão dos perversos, o cetro dos que dominavam,
6 He who smote people in wrath, blows without intermission, he that ruled in anger nations, persecuting without restraint.
Que feria aos povos com furor com golpes sem fim, que com ira dominava as nações, perseguindo sem compaixão.
7 At rest, quiet is all the earth; men break forth into loud song.
A terra descansa, já está sossegada; gritam de prazer com alegria.
8 Also, the fir-trees rejoice at thee, the cedars of Lebanon, “Since thou wast laid low, no feller is come up against us.”
Até os pinheiros se alegram por causa de ti, e os cedros do Líbano, dizendo: Desde que caíste, ninguém mais sobe contra nós para nos cortar.
9 The nether world from below is in motion concerning thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the departed for thee, all the chief ones of the earth; it hath caused to rise up from their thrones all the kings of nations. (Sheol h7585)
O Xeol desde as profundezas se agitou por causa de ti, para sair ao teu encontro em tua chegada; por causa de ti ele despertou os mortos, todos os líderes da terra, e fez levantar de seus tronos todos os reis das nações. (Sheol h7585)
10 They all will commence and say unto thee, “Thou—thou also art become weak like us; similar unto us art thou become!”
Todos eles responderão e te dirão: Tu te enfraqueceste como nós, e te tornaste semelhante a nós.
11 Into the nether world is brought down thy pride, the clatter of thy psalteries: beneath thee is spread the worm, and thy cover is the moth. (Sheol h7585)
Tua soberba foi derrubada ao Xeol, assim como o som de tuas harpas; larvas se espalharão por debaixo de ti, e vermes te cobrirão. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O morning-star, son of the dawn! how art thou hewn down to the ground, crusher of nations!
Como caíste do céu, ó “luminoso”, filho do amanhecer! Cortado foste até a terra, tu que enfraquecias as nações!
13 And thou—thou hadst said in thy heart, “Into heaven will I ascend, above the stars of God will I exalt my throne; and I will sit also upon the mount of the assembly, in the farthest end of the north;
E dizias em teu coração: Subirei ao céu; levantarei o meu trono acima das estrelas de Deus, e me sentarei no monte da congregação, nas regiões distantes do norte.
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be equal to the Most High.”
Subirei sobre as alturas das nuvens, e serei semelhante ao Altíssimo!
Porém tu serás derrubado ao Xeol, às profundezas da cova. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee will gaze at thee, will regard thee well, [saying, ] “Is this the man that caused the earth to tremble, that made kingdoms quake?
Os que te olharem prestarão atenção em ti, pensarão, [e dirão]: É este o homem que abalava a terra, e fazia os reinos tremerem?
17 That rendered the world as a wilderness, and pulled down its cities: never opened the prison-house of his prisoners?”
Que fazia do mundo como um deserto, e arruinava suas cidades? Que nunca soltava seus prisioneiros para [suas] casas?
18 All the kings of nations, all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own [eternal] house.
Todos os reis das nações, eles todos, jazem com honra, cada um em sua própria casa.
19 But thou—thou art cast out of thy grave like a discarded offshoot, as a garment of those that are slain, pierced by the sword, that go down to the stones of the pit, as a carcass trodden under foot.
Porém tu és lançado de tua sepultura, como um ramo repugnante, [como] as roupas dos que foram mortos, traspassados à espada; [como] os que descem às pedras da cova, como um corpo pisoteado.
20 Thou shalt not be united with them in burial; because thy land hast thou destroyed, thy people hast thou slain: to eternity shall not be called the seed of evil-doers.
Não se juntará a eles na sepultura, porque destruíste tua terra, [e] mataste a teu povo; a semente dos malignos não será nomeada para sempre.
21 Prepare for his children the slaughter, for the iniquity of their fathers: that they may not rise, and possess the land, and fill the face of the world with enemies [of mankind].
Preparai a matança para seus filhos por causa da maldade de seus pais; para que não se levantem, e tomem posse da terra, e encham a face do mundo de cidades.
22 And I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will cut off from Babylon name, and remnant, and son, and grandson, saith the Lord.
Porque me levantarei contra eles, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos; e cortarei para eliminar da Babilônia o nome e os restantes, o filho e o neto, diz o SENHOR.
23 I will also make it a possession for the hedgehog, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the Lord of hosts.
E eu a porei como propriedade de corujas, e poças d´água; e a varrerei com a vassoura da destruição, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
24 Sworn hath the Lord of hosts, saying, Surely as I have purposed, so doth it come to pass; and as I have resolved, so shall it occur:
O SENHOR dos exércitos jurou, dizendo: Com certeza acontecerá assim como pensei, e será comprido assim como determinei.
25 To break Asshur in my own land, and upon my mountains will I tread him under foot; then shall his yoke be removed from off them, and his burden from off their shoulders.
Quebrarei a Assíria em minha terra, e em minhas montanhas eu a esmagarei; para que seu jugo se afaste deles, e sua carga seja tirada de seus ombros.
26 This is the resolve that is resolved over all the earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.
Este é o plano determinado para toda a terra; e esta é a mão que está estendida sobre todas as nações.
27 For the Lord of hosts hath resolved, and who shall frustrate it? and it is his hand which is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Pois o SENHOR dos exércitos já determinou; quem invalidará? E sua mão já está estendida; quem [a] retrocederá?
28 In the year king Achaz died was this prophecy [given].
No ano em que o rei Acaz morreu, houve esta revelação:
29 Rejoice not, thou entire Palestine, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken; for out of the serpent's root shall come forth an adder, and its fruit shall be a flying dragon.
Não te alegres, ó tu, Filisteia inteira, por ter sido quebrada a vara que te feria; porque da raiz da cobra sairá uma víbora, e seu fruto será uma venenosa serpente voadora.
30 And the first-born of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall rest in safety: and I will kill with famine thy root, and men shall slay thy remnant.
E os mais pobres serão apascentados, e os necessitados deitarão em segurança; porém farei tua raiz morrer de fome, e ela matará teus sobreviventes.
31 Wail, O gate; cry out, O city; thou art dissolved, O thou entire Palestine; for from the north a smoke is coming, and there is no one solitary among those that are bidden to come.
Uiva, ó porta! Grita, ó cidade! Tu, Filisteia inteira, estás a ser derretida; porque do norte vem fumaça, e não há solitário em seus batalhões.
32 And what will each one of the messengers of the nation answer? That the Lord hath founded Zion; and that therein shall find protection the poor of his people.
Que, pois, se responderá aos mensageiros d [aquela] nação? Que o SENHOR fundou a Sião, e que nela os oprimidos de seu povo terão refúgio.
