Isaiah 13
1 The doom of Babylon, which Isaiah Amoz' son foresaw.
La carga de Babilonia que vio Isaías, hijo de Amoz.
2 Upon a high mountain lift ye up a banner, raise high your voice unto them, wave the hand, that they may enter into the gates of the princes.
¡Establece una bandera en la montaña desnuda! ¡Alza tu voz hacia ellos! Agita tu mano, para que entren en las puertas de los nobles.
3 I have charged my prepared ones, I have also called my heroes for my anger, those that rejoice in my highness.
He ordenado a mis consagrados; sí, he llamado a mis valientes para mi ira, a mis orgullosos exaltados.
4 There is a noise of tumult on the mountains, like that of a numerous people; a noise of shouting of kingdoms of nations assembled; the Lord of hosts mustereth a host of battle.
¡El ruido de una multitud está en los montes, como de un gran pueblo; el ruido de un alboroto de los reinos de las naciones reunidos! El Señor de los Ejércitos está reuniendo el ejército para la batalla.
5 They are coming from a far-off country, from the end of the heavens, [here is] the Lord, with the weapons of his indignation, to destroy all the land.
Vienen de un país lejano, del extremo del cielo, Yahvé, y las armas de su indignación, para destruir toda la tierra.
6 Wail ye; for nigh is the day of the Lord; like wasting from the Almighty shall it come.
¡Lloren, porque se acerca el día de Yahvé! Vendrá como una destrucción del Todopoderoso.
7 Therefore all hands shall become weak, and every mortal's heart shall melt;
Por eso todas las manos se debilitarán, y el corazón de todos se derretirá.
8 And they shall be affrighted, pangs and pains shall seize on them; they shall have throes as a woman that travaileth; one at the other shall they look amazed; red like flames shall their faces glow.
Estarán consternados. Se apoderarán de ellos dolores y penas. Tendrán dolores como una mujer de parto. Se mirarán con asombro unos a otros. Sus rostros serán rostros de fuego.
9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, direful, [laden] with wrath and the fierceness of anger, to render the earth desolate: and its sinners will he destroy out of it.
He aquí que viene el día de Yahvé, cruel, con cólera y furor; para hacer de la tierra una desolación, y para destruir de ella a sus pecadores.
10 For the stars of the heavens and their constellations shall not give forth their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not shed abroad her light.
Porque las estrellas del cielo y sus constelaciones no darán su luz. El sol se oscurecerá al salir, y la luna no hará brillar su luz.
11 And I will visit on the world its evil, and on the wicked their iniquity; and I will stop the arrogance of the presumptuous, and the haughtiness of the tyrants will I humble.
Castigaré al mundo por su maldad, y a los impíos por su iniquidad. Haré cesar la arrogancia de los soberbios, y humillaré la prepotencia de los terribles.
12 I will make the mortal more precious than fine gold; and man, more than the valued metal of Ophir.
Haré que las personas sean más raras que el oro fino, que el oro puro de Ofir.
13 Therefore will I shake the heavens, and the earth shall start quaking out of her place, at the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and on the day of his fierce anger.
Por eso haré temblar los cielos, y la tierra será sacudida de su lugar en la ira del Señor de los Ejércitos, y en el día de su furia.
14 And the people shall be as the chased roe, and as flocks which no one gathereth up; every man to his own people shall they turn, and every man into his own land shall they flee.
Sucederá que, como gacela cazada y como oveja que nadie recoge, cada uno se volverá a su pueblo y huirá a su tierra.
15 Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
Todo el que sea encontrado será atravesado. Todo el que sea capturado caerá a espada.
16 And their babes shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes: spoiled shall be their houses, and their wives ravished.
Sus hijos también serán despedazados ante sus ojos. Sus casas serán saqueadas, y sus mujeres violadas.
17 Behold, I will stir up against them the Medes; who will not regard silver, and who will not delight in gold.
He aquí que yo despierto contra ellos a los medos, que no valorarán la plata, y en cuanto al oro, no se deleitarán en él.
18 And their bows will dash young men to pieces; and on the fruit of the womb will they have no mercy; on children their eye will not look with pity.
Sus arcos harán pedazos a los jóvenes, y no tendrán piedad del fruto del vientre. Sus ojos no perdonarán a los niños.
19 And [thus] shall Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the proud ornament of the Chaldeans, become like the overthrow through God of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Babilonia, la gloria de los reinos, la belleza del orgullo de los caldeos, será como cuando Dios derribó a Sodoma y Gomorra.
20 It shall not be inhabited for ever, and it shall not be dwelt in from generation to generation; nor shall the Arabian pitch there his tent; and shepherds shall not let their flocks rest there.
Nunca será habitada, ni se habitará de generación en generación. El árabe no levantará allí una tienda, ni los pastores harán descansar allí sus rebaños.
21 But there shall rest the wild beasts of the desert; and their houses shall be full of owls; and ostriches shall dwell there, and evil spirits shall dance there.
Pero los animales salvajes del desierto se acostarán allí, y sus casas estarán llenas de chacales. Los avestruces habitarán allí, y las cabras salvajes retozarán.
22 And jackals shall howl in her palaces, and monsters in the temples of pleasure; and near to come is her time, and her days shall not be extended.
Las hienas gritarán en sus fortalezas, y los chacales en los palacios agradables. Su tiempo está próximo a llegar, y sus días no se prolongarán.
