< Hosea 6 >

1 “Come, and let us return unto the Lord; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind up our wounds.
I NA kakou e hoi hou aku ia Iehova, No ka mea, ua haehae mai kela, a e hoola mai ia ia kakou; Ua hahau mai ia, a e hoola mai no oia ia kakou.
2 He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his presence.
Mahope o na la elua e hoola mai ia ia kakou: I ke kolu o ka la e hooku mai ia ia kakou iluna, A e ola kakou imua ona.
3 And let us feel it, that we may strive to know the Lord; bright as the morning-dawn is his rising; and he will come as the rain unto us, as the latter rain that maketh fruitful the earth.”
Alaila e ike kakou, ke hahai kakou e ike ia Iehova; Ua makaukau kona hele ana'ku, e like me ka wanaao: A e hele mai ia ia kakou e like me ka ua; E like me ke kuaua mua, a me ke kuaua hope maluna o ka honua.
4 What shall I do unto thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do unto thee, O Judah? for your piety is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away.
E Eperaima, heaha ka'u e hana aku ai ia oe? E Iuda, heaha ka'u e hana aku ai ia oe? No ka mea, o ka oukou pono, na like me ke ao kakahiaka, A ua like me ka hau e nalo koke ana.
5 Therefore did I hew [them] down by means of the prophets; I slew them by the words of my mouth: and thy punishments go forth like the light.
No ia mea, ua kalai aku au ia lakou ma na kaula; Ua pepehi aku au ia lakou ma na olelo a kuu waha: A e puka aku kou hoohewaia e like me ka malamalama.
6 For piety I desired, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God, more than burnt-offerings.
No ka mea, o ke aloha ko'u makemake, aole ka mohai; A o ka ike i ke Akua mamua o na mohaikuni.
7 But they, like an ordinary man, have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
Aka, e like me kanaka, ua hai ia lakou ka berita: Ilaila ua hana hoopunipuni mai lakou ia'u.
8 Gil'ad is become a city of workers of wickedness, is full of traces of blood.
O Gileada ke kulanakauhale o ka poe hana hewa, i hahiia i na kapuwai koko.
9 And as troops that lie in wait for a man, so is the band of priests, they murder on the way in unison; for they commit scandalous deeds.
E like me ka poe hao wale e hoohalua ana i ke kanaka; Pela no ka poe kahuna i pepehi wale ma ke ala o Sekema; No ka mea, ke hana nei lakou i ka mea ino.
10 On the house of Israel have I seen a horrible thing: there is lewdness in Ephraim, Israel is become defiled.
Maloko o ka ohana a Iseraela ua ike au i ka mea weliweli; Malaila ka moe kolohe o Eperaima, Ua haumia ka Iseraela:
11 Also for thee, O Judah, will a harvest be prepared, when I bring back the captivity of my people.
Nou hoi, e ka Iuda, ua makaukau ka ohi ai ana.
