Hosea 3

1 Then said the Lord unto me, Go once more, love a woman beloved of her husband, yet committing adultery; like the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who turn themselves after other gods, and love flagons of wine.

Og Herren sa til mig: Gå atter bort og elsk en kvinne som er elsket av sin venn og allikevel driver hor, likesom Herren elsker Israels barn, men de vender sig til andre guder og elsker rosinkaker!

2 So I bought me such a one for fifteen pieces of silver, and for a chomer of barley, and half a chomer of barley.

Da kjøpte jeg mig en slik kvinne for femten sekel sølv og en homer bygg og en letek bygg.

3 And I said unto her, Many days shalt thou abide [true] for me: thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not belong to any man, and so will I also be toward thee.

Og jeg sa til henne: I mange dager skal du få sitte alene, uten å drive hor og uten å ha med nogen mann å gjøre; og jeg skal bære mig likedan at mot dig.

4 For many days shall the children of Israel abide without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without a standing image, and without an ephod and theraphim.

For i mange dager skal Israels barn sitte uten konge og fyrste, uten offer og billedstøtte, uten livkjortel og husguder.

5 After that will the children of Israel return, and seek for the Lord their God and David their king; and fearing will they hasten to the Lord and to his goodness in the latter days,

Derefter skal Israels barn vende om og søke Herren sin Gud og David sin konge, og bevende skal de søke Herren og hans gaver i de siste dager.
