Hosea 14
1 Return, O Israel, even unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast stumbled through thy iniquity.
Ισραήλ, επίστρεψον προς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου, διότι έπεσας διά της ανομίας σου.
2 Take with you swords, and return to the Lord: say unto him, “Pardon all [our] iniquity, and accept [our return to] good; and let us repay the steers [of sacrifice] with [the prayer of] our lips.
Λάβετε μεθ' εαυτών λόγους και επιστρέψατε προς τον Κύριον· είπατε προς αυτόν, Αφαίρεσον πάσαν ανομίαν ημών και δέχθητι ημάς ευμενώς, και θέλομεν αποδώσει τον καρπόν των χειλέων ημών·
3 Asshur shall not help us; upon horses will we not ride: and we will no more say, Ye are our gods, to the work of our hands; for in thee alone the fatherless obtaineth mercy.”
ο Ασσούρ δεν θέλει μας σώσει· δεν θέλομεν αναβή εφ' ίππους· και δεν θέλομεν ειπεί πλέον προς το έργον των χειρών ημών, Είσθε θεοί ημών· διότι εν σοι θέλει ελεηθή ο ορφανός.
4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.
Θέλω ιατρεύσει την αποστασίαν αυτών, θέλω αγαπήσει αυτούς εγκαρδίως· διότι ο θυμός μου απεστράφη απ' αυτού.
5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall bloom as the lily; and he shall strike his roots as [the forests of] Lebanon.
Θέλω είσθαι ως δρόσος εις τον Ισραήλ· ως κρίνον θέλει ανθήσει και θέλει εκτείνει τας ρίζας αυτού ως δένδρον του Λιβάνου.
6 His suckers shall spread out, and his beauty shall be as that of the olive-tree, and his smell as that of the Lebanon.
Οι κλάδοι αυτού θέλουσιν εξαπλωθή και η δόξα αυτού θέλει είσθαι ως ελαίας και η οσμή αυτού ως του Λιβάνου.
7 They shall return that sat under his shade; they shall revive as corn, and bloom as the vine: the scent of which shall be as that of the wine of Lebanon.
Θέλουσιν επιστρέψει και καθήσει υπό την σκιάν αυτού· θέλουσιν αναζήσει ως σίτος και ανθήσει ως άμπελος· η μνήμη αυτού θέλει είσθαι ως οίνος Λιβάνου.
8 Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will observe him; I will be [to him] like a green fir-tree; through me is thy fruit found.
Ο Εφραΐμ θέλει ειπεί, Τι έχω να κάμω πλέον μετά των ειδώλων; Εγώ ήκουσα και θέλω παραφυλάξει αυτόν· εγώ είμαι εις αυτόν ως ελάτη ευθαλής· απ' εμού ο καρπός σου θέλει προέλθει.
9 Who is wise, that he may understand these things? intelligent, that he may know them? for righteous are the ways of the Lord; and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors will stumble through them.
Τις είναι σοφός και θέλει εννοήσει ταύτα, συνετός και θέλει γνωρίσει αυτά; διότι ευθείαι είναι αι οδοί του Κυρίου, και οι δίκαιοι θέλουσι περιπατεί εν αυταίς· οι δε παραβάται θέλουσι πέσει εν αυταίς.
