Hosea 14
1 Return, O Israel, even unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast stumbled through thy iniquity.
Kehre um, o Israel, zu dem HERRN, deinem Gott! Denn du bist gefallen durch deine eigene Schuld.
2 Take with you swords, and return to the Lord: say unto him, “Pardon all [our] iniquity, and accept [our return to] good; and let us repay the steers [of sacrifice] with [the prayer of] our lips.
Nehmet Worte mit euch und kehret um zum HERRN! Sprechet: «Vergib alle Schuld und nimm es gut auf, daß wir dir als Dankopfer die Farren unserer Lippen bringen!
3 Asshur shall not help us; upon horses will we not ride: and we will no more say, Ye are our gods, to the work of our hands; for in thee alone the fatherless obtaineth mercy.”
Assur soll uns nicht mehr helfen; wir wollen nicht mehr auf Rossen reiten und das Werk unserer Hände nicht mehr unsere Götter nennen, denn bei dir findet das Waislein Barmherzigkeit!»
4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.
Ich will ihre Abtrünnigkeit heilen, gerne will ich sie lieben; denn mein Zorn hat sich von ihnen abgewandt!
5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall bloom as the lily; and he shall strike his roots as [the forests of] Lebanon.
Ich will für Israel sein wie der Tau; es soll blühen wie eine Lilie und Wurzel schlagen wie der Libanon.
6 His suckers shall spread out, and his beauty shall be as that of the olive-tree, and his smell as that of the Lebanon.
Seine Schößlinge sollen sich ausbreiten; es soll so schön werden wie ein Ölbaum und so guten Geruch geben wie der Libanon.
7 They shall return that sat under his shade; they shall revive as corn, and bloom as the vine: the scent of which shall be as that of the wine of Lebanon.
Die unter seinem Schatten wohnen, werden wieder aufleben wie das Getreide und blühen wie der Weinstock und so berühmt werden wie der Wein vom Libanon.
8 Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will observe him; I will be [to him] like a green fir-tree; through me is thy fruit found.
Ephraim [sagt: ] Was sollen mir weiter die Götzen? Ich, ich will ihn erhören und zu ihm sehen. Ich, ich bin wie eine grünende Zypresse; es soll sich zeigen, daß deine Frucht von mir kommt!
9 Who is wise, that he may understand these things? intelligent, that he may know them? for righteous are the ways of the Lord; and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors will stumble through them.
Wer ist so weise, daß er das einsehe, und so klug, daß er das verstehe? Die Wege des HERRN sind richtig, und die Gerechten wandeln darauf; aber die Übertreter kommen auf ihnen zu Fall.
