Genesis 7
1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy household into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Lalu berkatalah TUHAN kepada Nuh, "Aku melihat bahwa engkau satu-satunya orang yang melakukan kehendak-Ku. Jadi, masuklah ke dalam kapal itu bersama-sama dengan seluruh keluargamu.
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee seven pairs of each, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean two, the male and his female.
Bawalah juga tujuh pasang dari setiap jenis burung dan binatang lainnya yang halal, sedangkan dari yang haram hanya satu pasang saja dari setiap jenis. Lakukanlah itu supaya dari setiap jenis binatang ada yang luput dari kebinasaan dan bisa berkembang biak lagi di bumi.
3 Also of the fowls of the heaven, seven pairs of each, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
4 For after only seven days more, I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights: and I will blot out every living substance that I have made from off the face of the earth.
Tujuh hari lagi Aku akan menurunkan hujan yang tidak akan reda selama empat puluh hari empat puluh malam, supaya makhluk hidup yang telah Kuciptakan itu binasa."
5 And Noah did all just as the Lord had commanded him.
Lalu Nuh melakukan segala yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepadanya.
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
Nuh berumur 600 tahun ketika terjadi banjir di bumi.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
Nuh dan istrinya, dan anak-anaknya beserta istri-istri mereka, masuk ke dalam kapal itu untuk menyelamatkan diri dari banjir.
8 Of the clean beasts, and of the beasts that are not clean, and of the fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
Seekor jantan dan seekor betina dari setiap jenis burung dan binatang lainnya--baik yang halal maupun yang haram--
9 One pair of each went in unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
masuk ke dalam kapal itu bersama-sama dengan Nuh, sesuai dengan perintah Allah.
10 And it came to pass, after the seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
Tujuh hari kemudian banjir datang melanda bumi.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this same day, were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Pada waktu Nuh berumur 600 tahun, pada tanggal tujuh belas bulan dua, pecahlah segala mata air di bawah bumi. Segala pintu air di langit terbuka,
12 And the rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
dan hujan turun selama empat puluh hari empat puluh malam.
13 On that self-same day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
Pada hari itu juga, Nuh dan istrinya masuk ke dalam kapal itu bersama ketiga anaknya, yaitu Sem, Yafet dan Ham beserta istri-istri mereka.
14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after its kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird, every thing that hath wings.
Bersama-sama dengan mereka masuk pula setiap jenis burung dan binatang lainnya, baik yang jinak maupun yang liar, yang besar maupun yang kecil.
15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, one pair of each, of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
Seekor jantan dan seekor betina dari setiap jenis makhluk hidup masuk ke dalam kapal itu bersama-sama dengan Nuh,
16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and then the Lord shut him in.
sesuai dengan perintah Allah kepadanya. Setelah semuanya masuk, TUHAN menutup pintu kapal.
17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth.
Banjir itu terus melanda selama empat puluh hari, dan air menjadi cukup tinggi sehingga kapal itu dapat mengapung.
18 And the waters prevailed, and increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark floated along upon the face of the waters.
Air semakin tinggi, dan kapal itu terapung-apung pada permukaan air.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high mountains that are under the whole heavens were covered.
Air itu terus bertambah tinggi, sehingga tergenanglah gunung-gunung yang paling tinggi.
20 Fifteen cubits above them did the waters prevail; and the mountains were [thus] covered.
Air terus naik sampai mencapai ketinggian tujuh meter di atas puncak-puncak gunung.
21 And all flesh perished that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man.
TUHAN membinasakan segala makhluk yang hidup di bumi ini: Manusia, burung dan binatang darat baik kecil maupun besar. Yang tidak binasa hanyalah Nuh dan semua yang ada bersama-sama dengan dia di dalam kapal itu.
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that were on the dry land, died.
23 And it swept off every living substance which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and creeping things, and fowls of the heaven; and they were swept from the earth; and Noah only was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.
24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.
Air itu tidak kunjung surut selama 150 hari.
