Genesis 46
1 And Israel commenced his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.

2 And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for a great nation will I make of thee there:
Rekel je: »Jaz sem Bog, Bog tvojega očeta. Ne boj se iti dol v Egipt, kajti iz tebe bom tam naredil velik narod.
4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thy eyes.
S teboj bom šel dol v Egipt in zagotovo te bom ponovno privedel gor in Jožef bo svojo roko položil na tvoje oči.«
5 And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
Jakob je vstal izpred Beeršébe in Izraelovi sinovi so odvedli svojega očeta Jakoba, svoje malčke in svoje žene v vozove, ki jih je faraon poslal, da ga odpeljejo.
6 And they took their cattle and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt; Jacob, and all his seed with him:

7 His sons, and his son's sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.

8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, that came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: the first-born of Jacob, Reuben.

9 And the sons of Reuben: Chanoch, and Pallu, and Chezron, and Carmi.

10 And the sons of Simeon: Yemuel, and Yamin, and Ohad, and Yachin, and Zochar, and Shaul the son of the Canaanitish woman.
Simeonovi sinovi: Jemuél, Jamín, Ohad, Jahín, Cohar in Šaúl, sin kánaanske ženske.
11 And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
Lévijevi sinovi: Geršón, Kehát in Merarí.
12 And the sons of Judah: 'Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerach; but 'Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Chezron and Chamul.
Judovi sinovi: Er, Onán, Šelá, Parec in Zerah, toda Er in Onán sta umrla v kánaanski deželi. Parecova sinova pa sta bila Hecrón in Hamúl.
13 And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Yob, and Shimron.
Isahárjevi sinovi: Tolá, Puvá, Job in Šimrón.
14 And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Yachleel.
Zábulonovi sinovi: Sered, Elón in Jahleél.
15 These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah his daughter: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
To so Leini sinovi, ki jih je rodila Jakobu v Padan–aramu z njegovo hčerjo Dino. Vseh duš njegovih sinov in njegovih hčera je bilo triintrideset.
16 And the sons of Gad: Ziphyon, and Chaggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, 'Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
Gadovi sinovi: Cifjón, Hagí, Šuní, Ecbón, Erí, Aród in Arelí.
17 And the sons of Asher: Yimnah, and Yishvah, and Yishvi, and Beriah, and Serach their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Cheber, and Malkiel.
Aserjevi sinovi: Jimná, Jišvá, Jišví, Berijá in njihova sestra Sêraha. In Berijájeva sinova: Heber in Malkiél.
18 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, sixteen souls.
To so sinovi Zilpe, ki jo je Labán dal svoji hčeri Lei in te je rodila Jakobu: šestnajst duš.
19 The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
Sinova Jakobove žene Rahele: Jožef in Benjamin.
20 And there were born unto Joseph in the land of Egypt Menasseh and Ephraim, whom Assenath the daughter of Poti-phera', the priest of On, bore unto him.
Jožefu sta bila v egiptovski deželi rojena Manáse in Efrájim, katera mu je rodila Asenáta, hči Potifêra, duhovnika iz Ona.
21 And the sons of Benjamin: Bela', and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Echi, and Rosh, Muppim and Chuppim, and Ard.
Benjaminovi sinovi so bili Bela, Beher, Ašbél, Gerá, Naamán, Ehí, Roš, Mupím, Hupím in Ard.
22 These are the sons of Rachel, that were born to Jacob: in all fourteen souls.
To so Rahelini sinovi, ki so bili rojeni Jakobu. Vseh duš je bilo štirinajst.
23 And the son of Dan: Chushim.
Danovi sinovi: Huším.
24 And the sons of Naphtali: Yachzeel, and Guni, and Yezer, and Shillem.
Neftálijevi sinovi: Jahceél, Guní, Jecer in Šilém.
25 These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, in all seven souls.
To so sinovi Bilhe, ki jo je Labán dal svoji hčeri Raheli in te je rodila Jakobu. Vseh duš je bilo sedem.
26 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides the wives of Jacob's sons, were in all sixty and six souls.
Vseh duš, ki so z Jakobom prišle v Egipt, ki so prišle iz njegovih ledij, poleg žen Jakobovih sinov, vseh duš je bilo šestinšestdeset.
27 And the sons of Joseph, who were born him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were seventy.
Jožefova sinova, ki sta bila rojena v Egiptu, sta bili dve duši. Vseh duš Jakobove hiše, ki so prišle v Egipt, je bilo sedemdeset.
28 And Judah he sent before him unto Joseph, to direct him beforehand unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
Pred njim je poslal k Jožefu Juda, da njegov obraz usmeri v Gošen, in prišli so v gošensko deželo.
29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and when he obtained sight of him, he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
Jožef je pripravil svoj bojni voz in odšel v Gošen, da sreča svojega očeta Izraela in se mu predstavi in planil je na njegov vrat in na njegovem vratu dolgo časa jokal.
30 And Israel said unto Joseph, Let me die now, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.
Izrael je Jožefu rekel: »Sedaj naj umrem, ker sem videl tvoj obraz, ker si še vedno živ.«
31 And Joseph said unto his brothers, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brothers and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
Jožef je rekel svojim bratom in vsej očetovi hiši: »Odšel bom gor in faraonu pokazal ter mu rekel: ›Moji bratje in hiša mojega očeta, ki so bili v kánaanski deželi, so prišli k meni.
32 And the men are shepherds, for they have been owners of cattle; and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, they have brought along.
Ljudje so pastirji, kajti njihovo ukvarjanje je, da pasejo živino in pripeljali so svoje trope in svoje črede in vse, kar imajo.‹
33 And it shall come to pass, if Pharaoh should have you called, and say, What is your occupation?
In zgodilo se bo, ko vas bo faraon poklical in vam rekel: ›Kaj je vaš poklic?‹
34 That ye shall say, Owners of cattle have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we, as also our fathers; in order that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
da boste rekli: ›Ukvarjanje tvojih služabnikov je okoli živine od naše mladosti celo do sedaj, tako mi in tudi naši očetje.‹ Da boste lahko prebivali v gošenski deželi, kajti vsak pastir je Egipčanom ogabnost.«
