Genesis 46
1 And Israel commenced his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
So brach denn Israel mit allen seinen Angehörigen auf, und als er nach Beerseba gekommen war, brachte er dort dem Gott seines Vaters Isaak Schlachtopfer dar.
2 And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
Da redete Gott mit Israel nachts in einem Gesicht und sagte: »Jakob, Jakob!« Er antwortete: »Hier bin ich!«
3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for a great nation will I make of thee there:
Darauf sagte Gott: »Ich bin Gott, der Gott deines Vaters! Fürchte dich nicht, nach Ägypten hinabzuziehen; denn ich will dich dort zu einem großen Volk machen.
4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thy eyes.
Ich selbst will mit dir nach Ägypten hinabziehen, und ich selbst will dich (einst) auch wieder zurückführen, und Josephs Hand soll dir die Augen zudrücken.«
5 And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
Da brach Jakob von Beerseba auf, und seine Söhne ließen ihren Vater Jakob nebst ihren Kindern und ihren Frauen auf den Wagen fahren, die der Pharao geschickt hatte, um ihn zu holen.
6 And they took their cattle and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt; Jacob, and all his seed with him:
Sie nahmen auch ihr Vieh und ihre Habe mit, die sie im Lande Kanaan erworben hatten, und kamen so nach Ägypten, Jakob mit seiner gesamten Nachkommenschaft:
7 His sons, and his son's sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.
seine Söhne und Enkel, seine Töchter und Enkelinnen, überhaupt seine ganze Nachkommenschaft brachte er mit sich nach Ägypten.
8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, that came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: the first-born of Jacob, Reuben.
Dies aber sind die Namen der Nachkommen Israels, die nach Ägypten kamen: Jakob und seine Söhne. Der erstgeborene Sohn Jakobs war Ruben;
9 And the sons of Reuben: Chanoch, and Pallu, and Chezron, and Carmi.
und die Söhne Rubens waren Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron und Karmi.
10 And the sons of Simeon: Yemuel, and Yamin, and Ohad, and Yachin, and Zochar, and Shaul the son of the Canaanitish woman.
Die Söhne Simeons waren Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar und Saul, der Sohn der Kanaanäerin.
11 And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
Die Söhne Levis waren Gerson, Kehath und Merari.
12 And the sons of Judah: 'Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerach; but 'Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Chezron and Chamul.
Die Söhne Judas waren Ger, Onan, Sela, Perez und Serah; aber Ger und Onan waren schon im Lande Kanaan gestorben, und die Söhne des Perez waren Hezron und Hamul.
13 And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Yob, and Shimron.
Die Söhne Issaschars waren Thola, Puwwa, Job und Simron.
14 And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Yachleel.
Die Söhne Sebulons waren Sered, Elon und Jahleel.
15 These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah his daughter: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
Dies sind die Söhne der Lea, die sie dem Jakob in Nord-Mesopotamien geboren hatte, dazu seine Tochter Dina, insgesamt dreiunddreißig Söhne und Töchter. –
16 And the sons of Gad: Ziphyon, and Chaggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, 'Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
Die Söhne Gads aber waren Ziphjon und Haggi, Suni und Ezbon, Heri, Arodi und Areli.
17 And the sons of Asher: Yimnah, and Yishvah, and Yishvi, and Beriah, and Serach their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Cheber, and Malkiel.
Die Söhne Assers waren Jimna, Jiswa, Jiswi, Beria und ihre Schwester Serah; und die Söhne Berias waren Heber und Malkiel.
18 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, sixteen souls.
Dies sind die Söhne der Silpa, die Laban seiner Tochter Lea (als Leibmagd) gegeben hatte; diese hatte sie dem Jakob geboren, zusammen sechzehn Seelen. –
19 The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
Die Söhne der Rahel, der Frau Jakobs, waren Joseph und Benjamin.
20 And there were born unto Joseph in the land of Egypt Menasseh and Ephraim, whom Assenath the daughter of Poti-phera', the priest of On, bore unto him.
Dem Joseph aber waren in Ägypten Manasse und Ephraim geboren, die ihm Asenath, die Tochter Potipheras, des Priesters von On, geboren hatte.
21 And the sons of Benjamin: Bela', and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Echi, and Rosh, Muppim and Chuppim, and Ard.
Die Söhne Benjamins waren Bela, Becher und Asbel, Gera und Naaman, Ehi und Ros, Muppim und Huppim und Ard.
22 These are the sons of Rachel, that were born to Jacob: in all fourteen souls.
Dies sind die Söhne der Rahel, die dem Jakob geboren waren, insgesamt vierzehn Seelen. –
23 And the son of Dan: Chushim.
Die Söhne Dans aber waren: Husim;
24 And the sons of Naphtali: Yachzeel, and Guni, and Yezer, and Shillem.
und die Söhne Naphthalis: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer und Sillem.
25 These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, in all seven souls.
Dies sind die Söhne der Bilha, die Laban seiner Tochter Rahel (als Leibmagd) gegeben hatte; diese hatte sie dem Jakob geboren, insgesamt sieben Seelen. –
26 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides the wives of Jacob's sons, were in all sixty and six souls.
Die Gesamtzahl der Seelen, die mit Jakob nach Ägypten kamen, seine leiblichen Nachkommen, ungerechnet die Frauen der Söhne Jakobs, betrug sechsundsechzig.
27 And the sons of Joseph, who were born him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were seventy.
Die Söhne Josephs aber, die ihm in Ägypten geboren wurden, waren zwei Seelen. Daher betrug die Gesamtzahl der Seelen des Hauses Jakobs, die nach Ägypten kamen, siebzig.
28 And Judah he sent before him unto Joseph, to direct him beforehand unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
Jakob hatte aber Juda zu Joseph vorausgesandt, damit dieser ihm die Landschaft Gosen im voraus anweisen lasse. Als sie nun im Lande Gosen angekommen waren,
29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and when he obtained sight of him, he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
ließ Joseph seinen Wagen anspannen und fuhr seinem Vater Israel nach Gosen entgegen; und als er vor ihm erschien, fiel er ihm um den Hals und weinte lange an seinem Halse.
30 And Israel said unto Joseph, Let me die now, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.
Israel aber sagte zu Joseph: »Nun will ich gern sterben, nachdem ich dein Angesicht gesehen habe (und weiß), daß du noch am Leben bist.«
31 And Joseph said unto his brothers, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brothers and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
Hierauf sagte Joseph zu seinen Brüdern und zu den anderen Angehörigen seines Vaters: »Ich will jetzt hinfahren und dem Pharao Bericht erstatten und ihm melden: ›Meine Brüder sowie die Angehörigen meines Vaters, die bisher im Lande Kanaan gewohnt haben, sind zu mir gekommen.
32 And the men are shepherds, for they have been owners of cattle; and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, they have brought along.
Diese Leute sind Hirten von Kleinvieh – sie sind von jeher Viehzüchter gewesen –, und sie haben ihr Kleinvieh, ihre Rinder und ihren gesamten Besitz mitgebracht.‹
33 And it shall come to pass, if Pharaoh should have you called, and say, What is your occupation?
Wenn euch dann der Pharao rufen läßt und euch fragt: ›Was ist euer Gewerbe?‹,
34 That ye shall say, Owners of cattle have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we, as also our fathers; in order that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
so antwortet: ›Deine Knechte sind von Jugend auf bis jetzt Viehzüchter gewesen, wir wie auch schon unsere Väter‹, – damit ihr im Lande Gosen wohnen dürft; denn alle Hirten von Kleinvieh sind den Ägyptern ein Greuel.«
