Genesis 4
1 And the man knew Eve his wife: and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
Y conoció Adam a su mujer Eva, la cual concibió y parió a Caín, y dijo: Ganado he un varón por Jehová.
2 And she bore again, his brother, Abel; and Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Y otra vez parió a su hermano Abel. Y fue Abel pastor de ovejas, y Caín fue labrador de la tierra.
3 And it came to pass in process of time, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground and offering unto the Lord.
Y aconteció al cabo de días, que Caín trajo del fruto de la tierra un presente a Jehová.
4 And Abel—he also brought of the firstlings of his flock, and of the fattest thereof; and the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering;
Y Abel trajo también de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, y de sus grosuras: y miró Jehová a Abel y a su presente.
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had no respect; and it was very displeasing to Cain, and his countenance fell.
Y a Caín y a su presente no miró. Y ensañóse Caín en gran manera, y decayó su semblante.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Entonces Jehová dijo a Caín: ¿Por qué te has ensañado? ¿y por qué ha decaído tu semblante?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door; and unto thee is its desire, but thou canst rule over it.
¿Cómo, no serás ensalzado si bien hicieres: y si no hicieres bien, no estarás echado por tu pecado a la puerta? Con todo esto, a ti será su deseo; y tú te enseñorearás de él.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Y hablo Caín a su hermano Abel. Y aconteció que estando ellos en el campo, Caín se levantó contra Abel su hermano, y le mató.
9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel they brother? and he said, I know not; am I my brother's keeper?
Y Jehová dijo a Caín: ¿Dónde está Abel tu hermano? Y él respondió: No sé: ¿Soy yo guarda de mi hermano?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Y él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama a mí desde la tierra.
11 And now be thou cursed from the ground, which hath opened its mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand:
Ahora, pues, maldito seas tú de la tierra, que abrió su boca para recibir la sangre de tu hermano de tu mano.
12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield its strength unto thee; fugitive and vagabond shalt thou be on the earth.
Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá a dar su fuerza: vagabundo y extranjero serás en la tierra.
13 And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Y dijo Caín a Jehová: Grande es mi iniquidad de perdonar.
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and if I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, it will come to pass, that every one that findeth me will slay me.
He aquí, me echas hoy de la haz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé: y seré vagabundo y extranjero en la tierra: y será, que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.
15 And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him seven-fold. And the Lord set a sign unto Cain, that any one finding him should not kill him.
Y respondióle Jehová: Cierto cualquiera que matare a Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces Jehová puso una señal en Caín, para que no le matase cualquiera que le hallase.
16 And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
Y salió Caín de delante de Jehová, y habitó en tierra de Nod, al oriente de Edén.
17 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and bore Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.
Y conoció Caín a su mujer, la cual concibió y parió a Jenoc: y edificó una ciudad, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad del nombre de su hijo, Jenoc.
18 And unto Enoch was born Irad; and Irad begat Mechujael: and Mechujael begat Methushael; and Methushael begat Lemech.
Y nació a Jenoc Irad, e Irad engendró a Maviael, y Maviael engendró a Matusael, y Matusael engendró a Lamec.
19 And Lemech took unto himself two wives, the name of one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
Y tomó para si Lamec dos mujeres, el nombre de la una fue Ada, y el nombre de la otra Sella.
20 And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and have cattle.
Y parió Ada a Jabel, el cual fue padre de los que habitan en tiendas, y de los que tienen ganados.
21 And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all such as play on the harp and guitar.
Y el nombre de su hermano fue Jubal, el cual fue padre de todos los que tañen harpa y órgano.
22 And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, an artificer in every article of copper and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
Y Sella también parió a Tubal-caín acicalador de toda obra de metal y de hierro: y la hermana de Tubal-caín fue Noema.
23 And Lemech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; ye wives of Lemech, hearken unto my speech; for I have slain a man to my own wounding, and a young-man to my hurt.
Y dijo Lamec a sus mujeres Ada y Sella: Oíd mi voz mujeres de Lamec, escuchád mi dicho: Que varón mataré por mi herida, y mancebo por mi golpe:
24 If Cain shall be avenged seven-fold, truly Lemech seventy and seven-fold.
Que siete veces será vengado Caín, mas Lamec setenta veces siete.
25 And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son, and called his name Sheth [[Seth]]; for God [said she] hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Y conoció Adam aun a su mujer, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Set; Porque ( dice ) Dios me ha dado otra simiente por Abel, al cual mató Caín.
26 And to Sheth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.
Y a Set también le nació un hijo, y llamó su nombre Enós. Entonces los hombres comenzaron a llamarse del nombre de Jehová.
