Genesis 27
1 And it came to pass, when Isaac was old, and his eyes were too dim to see, that he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
Und es begab sich, da Isaak war alt worden, daß seine Augen dunkel wurden zu sehen, rief er Esau, seinem größern Sohn, und sprach zu ihm: Mein Sohn! Er aber antwortete ihm: Hie bin ich.
2 And he said, Behold now, I am grown old, I know not the day of my death:
Und er sprach: Siehe, ich bin alt worden und weiß nicht, wann ich sterben soll.
3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt for me some venison;
So nimm nun deinen Zeug, Köcher und Bogen, und gehe aufs Feld und fahe mir ein Wildbret
4 And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.
und mache mir ein Essen, wie ich's gerne habe, und bringe mir's herein, daß ich esse, daß dich meine Seele segne, ehe ich sterbe.
5 And Rebekah heard as Isaac was speaking to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
Rebekka aber hörete solche Worte, die Isaak zu seinem Sohne Esau sagte. Und Esau ging hin aufs Feld, daß er ein Wildbret jagte und heimbrächte.
6 And Rebekah spoke unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
Da sprach Rebekka zu Jakob, ihrem Sohn: Siehe, ich habe gehöret deinen Vater reden mit Esau, deinem Bruder, und sagen:
7 Bring me venison, and make me savory food, that I may eat and bless thee before the Lord before my death.
Bringe mir ein Wildbret und mache mir ein Essen, daß ich esse und dich segne vor dem HERRN, ehe ich sterbe.
8 And now, my son, obey my voice in that which I command thee.
So höre nun, mein Sohn, meine Stimme, was ich dich heiße.
9 Go, I pray thee, to the flock, and fetch me from there two good kids; and I will make them savory food for thy father, such as he loveth:
Gehe hin zu der Herde und hole mir zwei gute Böcklein, daß ich deinem Vater ein Essen davon mache, wie er's gerne hat.
10 And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat; for the sake that he may bless thee before his death.
Das sollst du deinem Vater hineintragen, daß er esse, auf daß er dich segne vor seinem Tode.
11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:
Jakob aber sprach zu seiner Mutter Rebekka: Siehe, mein Bruder Esau ist rauch und ich glatt;
12 Peradventure my father will feel me, and I shall then seem to him as a deceiver; and I would bring upon me a curse, and not a blessing.
so möchte vielleicht mein Vater mich begreifen, und würde vor ihm geachtet, als ob ich ihn betrügen wollte, und brächte über mich einen Fluch und nicht einen Segen.
13 And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son; only obey my voice, and go fetch them to me.
Da sprach seine Mutter zu ihm: Der Fluch sei auf mir, mein Sohn; gehorche nur meiner Stimme, gehe und hole mir.
14 And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.
Da ging er hin und holete und brachte seiner Mutter. Da machte seine Mutter ein Essen, wie sein Vater gerne hatte,
15 And Rebekah took the goodly garments of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and clothed therewith Jacob her younger son;
und nahm Esaus, ihres größern Sohnes, köstliche Kleider, die sie bei sich im Hause hatte, und zog sie Jakob an, ihrem kleinem Sohn;
16 And the skins of the kids she put upon his hands, and upon the smooth part of his neck;
aber die Felle von den Böcklein tat sie ihm um seine Hände, und wo er glatt war am Halse.
17 And she gave the savory food and bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of Jacob her son.
Und gab also das Essen mit Brot, wie sie es gemacht hatte, in Jakobs Hand, ihres Sohnes.
18 And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou my son?
Und er ging hinein zu seinem Vater und sprach: Mein Vater! Er antwortete: Hie bin ich. Wer bist du, mein Sohn?
19 And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first-born; I have done as thou didst speak to me: arise I pray thee, sit here and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
Jakob sprach zu seinem Vater: Ich bin Esau, dein erstgeborener Sohn; ich habe getan, wie du mir gesagt hast. Stehe auf, setze dich und iß von meinem Wildbret, auf daß mich deine Seele segne.
20 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the Lord thy God brought it before me.
Isaak aber sprach zu seinem Sohn: Mein Sohn, wie hast du so bald funden? Er antwortete: Der HERR, dein Gott, bescherte mir's.
21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be truly my son Esau or not.
Da sprach Isaak zu Jakob: Tritt herzu, mein Sohn, daß ich dich begreife, ob du seiest mein Sohn Esau, oder nicht.
22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father, and he felt him; and he said, The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
Also trat Jakob zu seinem Vater Isaak; und da er ihn begriffen hatte, sprach er: Die Stimme ist Jakobs Stimme, aber die Hände sind Esaus Hände.
23 And he recognized him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.
Und er kannte ihn nicht, denn seine Hände waren rauch, wie Esaus, seines Bruders, Hände, und segnete ihn.
24 And he said, Art thou indeed my son Esau? and he said I am.
Und er sprach zu ihm: Bist du mein Sohn Esau? Er antwortete: Ja, ich bin's.
25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat, and he brought him wine, and he drank.
Da sprach er: So bringe mir her, mein Sohn, zu essen von deinem Wildbret, daß dich meine Seele segne. Da brachte er's ihm, und er aß; und trug ihm auch Wein hinein, und er trank.
26 And Isaac his father said unto him, Come near, I pray thee, and kiss me, my son.
Und Isaak, sein Vater, sprach zu ihm: Komm her und küsse mich, mein Sohn!
27 And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is the smell of the field which the Lord hath blessed.
Er trat hinzu und küssete ihn. Da roch er den Geruch seiner Kleider; und segnete ihn und sprach: Siehe, der Geruch meines Sohnes ist wie ein Geruch des Feldes, das der HERR gesegnet hat.
28 And may God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine;
Gott gebe dir vom Tau des Himmels und von der Fettigkeit der Erde und Korn und Weins die Fülle.
29 Nations shall serve thee, and people bow down to thee; be lord over thy brethren, and thy mother's sons shall bow down to thee; cursed be they that curse thee, and blessed be they that bless thee.
Völker müssen dir dienen, und Leute müssen dir zu Fuße fallen. Sei ein HERR über deine Brüder, und deiner Mutter Kinder müssen dir zu Fuße fallen. Verflucht sei, wer dir fluchet; gesegnet sei, wer dich segnet!
30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarcely gone out from the presence of his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
Als nun Isaak vollendet hatte den Segen über Jakob, und Jakob kaum hinausgegangen war von seinem Vater Isaak, da kam Esau, sein Bruder, von seiner Jagd
31 And he also made savory food, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, in order that thy soul may bless me.
und machte auch ein Essen; und trug's hinein zu seinem Vater und sprach zu ihm: Stehe auf, mein Vater, und iß von dem Wildbret deines Sohnes, daß mich deine Seele segne.
32 And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy first-born, Esau.
Da antwortete ihm Isaak, sein Vater: Wer bist du? Er sprach: Ich bin Esau, dein erstgeborner Sohn:
33 And Isaac trembled greatly, exceedingly, and said, Who was it? where is he that had hunted venison, and brought it me, and I ate of all before thou camest, and blessed him? yea, he shall also remain blessed.
Da entsetzte sich Isaak über die Maße sehr und sprach: Wer? wo ist denn der Jäger, der mir gebracht hat, und ich habe von allem gegessen, ehe du kamst, und habe ihn gesegnet? Er wird auch gesegnet bleiben.
34 When Esau heard the words of his father, he uttered a great and exceedingly bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, also me, my father.
Als Esau diese Rede seines Vaters hörte, schrie er laut und ward über die Maße sehr betrübt; und sprach zu seinem Vater: Segne mich auch, mein Vater!
35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and took away thy blessing.
Er aber sprach: Dein Bruder ist kommen mit List und hat deinen Segen hinweg.
36 And he said, Hath he been therefore named Jacob, because he hath supplanted me these two times? my right of first-born he took away; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing: and he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me.
Da sprach er: Er heißt wohl Jakob; denn er hat mich nun zweimal untertreten. Meine Erstgeburt hat er dahin, und siehe, nun nimmt er auch meinen Segen. Und sprach: Hast du mir denn keinen Segen vorbehalten?
37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I endowed him: and what can I do now for thee, my son.
Isaak antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Ich habe ihn zum HERRN über dich gesetzt, und alle seine Brüder habe ich ihm zu Knechten gemacht, mit Korn und Wein habe ich ihn versehen: was soll ich doch dir nun tun, mein Sohn?
38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou then but one blessing, my father? bless me, also me, my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
Esau sprach zu seinem Vater: Hast du denn nur einen Segen, mein Vater? Segne mich auch, mein Vater! Und hub auf seine Stimme und weinete.
39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and [blessed] by the dew of heaven from above;
Da antwortete Isaak, sein Vater, und sprach zu ihm: Siehe da, du wirst eine fette Wohnung haben auf Erden und vom Tau des Himmels von oben her.
40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and thy brother shalt thou serve; and it shall come to pass, that when thou shalt have the dominion, thou canst break his yoke from off thy neck.
Deines Schwerts wirst du dich nähren und deinem Bruder dienen. Und es wird geschehen, daß du auch ein HERR und sein Joch von deinem Halse reißen wirst.
41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father had blessed him; and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father will be at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
Und Esau war Jakob gram um des Segens willen, damit ihn sein Vater gesegnet hatte, und sprach in seinem Herzen: Es wird die Zeit bald kommen, daß mein Vater Leid tragen muß; denn ich will meinen Bruder Jakob erwürgen.
42 And Rebekah was informed of the words of Esau her elder son: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau doth comfort himself, with regard to thee, purposing to kill thee.
Da wurden Rebekka angesagt diese Worte ihres größern Sohns Esau; und schickte hin und ließ Jakob, ihrem kleinern Sohn, rufen und sprach zu ihm: Siehe, dein Bruder Esau dräuet dir, daß er dich erwürgen will.
43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother, to Charan;
Und nun höre meine Stimme, mein Sohn: Mach dich auf und fleuch zu meinem Bruder Laban in Haran,
44 And tarry with him a short time, until thy brother's fury turn away;
und bleib eine Weile bei ihm, bis sich der Grimm deines Bruders wende,
45 Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then will I send, and fetch thee from there; why should I be deprived of both of you at once in one day?
und bis sich sein Zorn wider dich von dir wende und vergesse, was du an ihm getan hast; so will ich danach schicken und dich von dannen holen lassen. Warum sollte ich euer beider beraubet werden auf einen Tag?
46 And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob take a wife from the daughters of Heth, such as these, from the daughters of the land, what good will life do me?
Und Rebekka sprach zu Isaak: Mich verdreußt zu leben vor den Töchtern Heths. Wo Jakob ein Weib nimmt von den Töchtern Heths, die da sind wie die Töchter dieses Landes, was soll mir das Leben?
