Ezra 2
1 Now these are the children of the province who went up out of the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away into exile unto Babylon, and who returned unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;
Inilah daftar orang-orang Israel yang meninggalkan negeri Babel dan kembali ke Yerusalem maupun ke kota mereka masing-masing di wilayah Yehuda. Mereka adalah sebagian dari tawanan yang dulu diangkut oleh Raja Nebukadnezar.
2 Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua', Nehemiah, Serayah, Re'elayah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Misspar, Bigvai, Rechum, Ba'anah. The number of the men of the people of Israel was:
Pemimpin-pemimpin mereka adalah Zerubabel, Yesua, Nehemia, Seraya, Reelaya, Mordekai, Bilsan, Mispar, Bigwai, Rehum, dan Baana. Mereka memimpin setiap kelompok keluarga dari suku-suku Israel yang pulang. Inilah daftar nama keluarga beserta jumlah keturunan mereka yang pulang dari pembuangan:

Dari golongan penjaga pintu masuk rumah TUHAN: Keturunan Salum, Ater, Talmon, Akub, Hatita, dan Sobai, yang pulang sebanyak 139 orang.
43 The temple-servants were: The children of Zicha, the children of Chassupha, the children of Tabba'oth.
Dari golongan para pembantu yang dulu bekerja di rumah TUHAN, yaitu keturunan: Ziha, Hasufa, Tabaot,
44 The children of Keross, the children of Si'aha, the children of Padon.

58 All the temple-servants, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred and ninety and two.
Jumlah keturunan para pembantu di rumah TUHAN dan para pembantu Raja Salomo yang pulang dari pembuangan sebanyak 392 orang.
59 And these are those who went up from Thel-melach, Thelcharsha, Kerub, Addan, and Immer; but they could not tell their family division, and their descent, whether they were of Israel:
Ada juga yang ikut pulang bersama-sama dengan orang buangan dari kota-kota Tel Mela, Tel Haran, Kerub, Adan, dan Ime. Jumlah mereka terhitung sebanyak 652 orang. Mereka termasuk keturunan Delaya, Tobia, dan Nekoda, tetapi mereka tidak bisa membuktikan bahwa leluhur mereka terhubung kepada salah satu suku Israel, karena nama-nama leluhur mereka tidak terdaftar dalam buku daftar keturunan suku Israel.

Beberapa keluarga imam juga tidak diterima bergabung dalam kelompok imam, karena nama leluhur mereka tidak ada di dalam buku daftar itu, sehingga mereka dinyatakan tidak suci dan tidak layak untuk pelayanan keimaman di rumah TUHAN. Mereka adalah keluarga Habaya, Hakos, dan Barzilai. (Sebelum bernama Barzilai, dia menikah dengan anak perempuan Barzilai dari Gilead. Kemudian dia dipanggil dengan nama Barzilai, seperti nama mertuanya itu.)
62 These sought for their family-registers, but they were not found: wherefore they were excluded, as unfit, from the priesthood.
63 And the Thirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand up a priest with the Urim and Thummim.

64 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and sixty.

65 Besides their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: they had also two hundred singing men and singing women.
Pembantu mereka baik laki-laki maupun perempuan terhitung sebanyak 7.337 orang. Mereka juga mempunyai pembantu khusus sebanyak 200 orang penyanyi laki-laki dan perempuan.
66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
Mereka membawa 736 ekor kuda, 245 bagal,
67 Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
435 ekor unta, dan 6.720 ekor keledai.
68 And some of the chiefs of the divisions, when they came to the house of the Lord which is at Jerusalem, offered freewill gifts for the house of God to set it up in its place:
Sesampainya mereka di Yerusalem, tepatnya di lokasi bekas bangunan rumah TUHAN pernah berdiri, beberapa pemimpin keluarga memberikan persembahan secara sukarela untuk membangun kembali rumah itu.
69 After their ability they gave unto the treasure for the work sixty and one thousand drachms of gold, and five thousand manehs of sliver, and one hundred coats for the priests.
Mereka memberi sumbangan menurut kemampuan masing-masing. Jumlah persembahan yang terkumpul adalah 61.000 kilogram emas, 5.000 kilogram perak, dan 100 baju panjang khusus untuk para imam. Semua ini dimasukkan ke dalam gedung penyimpanan untuk harta rumah TUHAN.
70 And the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the gate-keepers, and the temple-servants, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
Demikianlah para imam, orang-orang Lewi, sebagian dari rakyat biasa, juga para pemusik, penjaga pintu gerbang rumah TUHAN, dan para pembantu rumah TUHAN tinggal di kota-kota dekat Yerusalem, sedangkan rakyat Israel selebihnya kembali ke kota-kota asal nenek moyang mereka dahulu.
