Ezra 10
1 Now when 'Ezra prayed, and when he made his confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there gathered themselves unto him out of Israel a very large assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept exceedingly much.

2 Thereupon commenced Shechanyah the son of Jechiel, of the sons of 'Elam, and said unto 'Ezra, we have indeed trespassed against our God, and have brought home strange wives of the nations of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
Oo Shekaanyaah oo ahaa ina Yexii'eel oo ahaa reer Ceelaam wuxuu u jawaabay Cesraa, oo ku yidhi, Annagu waxaannu ku xadgudubnay Ilaahayo, oo naago qalaad ayaannu ka guursannay dadyowgii dalka; laakiinse reer binu Israa'iil weli waxay leeyihiin rajo xaalkan ku saabsan.
3 And now let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the direction of the Lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God: and let it be done according to the law.
Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed aannu Ilaahayo axdi la dhiganno innaannu iska erinno naagahaas oo dhan, iyo intii ay dhaleenba, sidii ay tahay talada sayidkayga, iyo ta kuwa ka gariira amarka Ilaahayo, oo sidii sharciga waafaqsan ha loo sameeyo.
4 Arise; for this matter is obligatory upon thee; and we will be with thee: be strong, and do it.
Haddaba kac, waayo, xaalkan adiguu ku dul saaran yahay, oo annana waannu kula jirnaa; si wanaagsan u dhiirranow, oo samee.
5 Then arose 'Ezra, and caused the princes of the priests, the Levites, and of all Israel, to swear to do according to this word. And they swore.
Markaasaa Cesraa kacay oo wuxuu wadaaddadii sare iyo reer Laawi iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan ku wada dhaariyey inay sameeyaan sida eraygaasu leeyahay. Oo iyana saasay ku wada dhaarteen.
6 Then arose 'Ezra from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jochanan the son of Elyashib; and he went thither without having eaten bread, or having drunk water; for he was mourning because of the trespass of the exiles.
Markaasaa Cesraa ka kacay gurigii Ilaah hortiisa, oo wuxuu galay qolkii Yehooxaanaan oo ahaa ina Eliyaashiib, oo markuu halkaas yimid waxba kibis ma uu cunin, biyona ma uu cabbin, waayo, wuxuu u baroortay xadgudubkii ay sameeyeen dadkii maxaabiisnimada ka soo noqday.
7 And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the exile, to gather themselves together at Jerusalem;
Markaasay ka dhex naadiyeen dalka reer Yahuudah iyo Yeruusaalem oo ogeysiis gaadhsiiyeen dadkii maxaabiisnimada ka soo noqday oo dhan inay dhammaantood Yeruusaalem ku soo wada ururaan.
8 And that whosoever should not come within three days, according to the resolve of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be devoted, and himself separated from the congregation of the exiles.
Oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Ku alla kii aan intii saddex maalmood ah iman, sida ay ku taliyeen amiirrada iyo odayaashu, maalkiisa oo dhan waa laga xaaraamayn doonaa, oo isaga qudhiisana gooni baa looga sooci doonaa ururka dadkii maxaabiisnimada ka soo noqday.
9 Then were all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered together unto Jerusalem within three days: it was in the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the open place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and by reason of the showers of rain.
Markaasaa raggii reer Yahuudah iyo reer Benyaamiin oo dhammu intii saddex maalmood ah ku soo wada urureen Yeruusaalem, oo taasu waxay ahayd bishii sagaalaad maalinteedii labaatanaad, kolkaasaa dadkii oo dhammu wuxuu fadhiistay bannaankii guriga Ilaah hortiisa ahaa, iyagoo gariiraya xaalkan aawadiis iyo roobkii weynaa daraaddiis.
10 And 'Ezra the priest rose up, and said unto them, Ye have acted unfaithfully, and have brought home strange wives, to increase yet more the guiltiness of Israel.
Markaasaa waxaa istaagay wadaadkii Cesraa ahaa oo wuxuu dadkii ku yidhi, Idinku waad xadgudubteen oo waxaad guursateen naago qalaad, oo sidaasaad reer binu Israa'iil xujada ugu sii kordhiseen.
11 Now therefore make confession unto the Lord the God of your fathers, and do his will; and separate yourselves from the nations of the earth, and from the strange wives.
Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed dembigiinna u qirta Rabbiga ah Ilaahii awowayaashiin, oo sameeya wax isaga ka farxiya; oo gooni isaga sooca dadyowga dalka deggan, iyo naagaha qalaadba.
12 Then answered all the assembly and said with a loud voice, So be it: according to thy word it is our duty to do.
Markaasaa ururkii oo dhammu isku mar jawaabeen oo cod dheer ku yidhaahdeen, Waa inaannu samaynaa sidaad xaalkayaga ka tidhi.
13 But the people are many, and it is the rainy season, and we have not the strength to remain in the street, nor is this a work for one day or for two days; for we are many that have transgressed in this matter.
Laakiinse dadku wuu badan yahay, oo wakhtiganna waxaa jira roob badan, oo annana dibadda ma taagnaan karno, tanuna ma aha shuqul lagu qaban karo maalin iyo laba toona, waayo, annagu xaalkan aad baannu ugu xadgudubnay.
14 Let however our princes stand forward for all the congregation, and let all those in our cities who have brought home strange wives come at appointed times, and with them the elders of each and every city, and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned away from us for this whole matter.

15 Only Jonathan the son of 'Assahel and Jachzeyah the son of Thikvah withstood this [proposal]: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite assisted them.
Laakiinse xaalkan waxaa keliyahu hor istaagay Yoonaataan ina Casaaheel iyo Yaxaasyaah ina Tiqwaah; waxaana caawiyey Meshullaam iyo Shabbetay oo ahaa reer Laawi.
16 And the children of the exile did so. And then were set apart 'Ezra the priest, [and] certain chiefs of the divisions, for their family divisions, and all of them [designated] by their names; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
Oo dadkii maxaabiisnimada ka soo noqdayna saasay yeeleen. Oo waxaa gooni ahaan loo soocay wadaadkii Cesraa ahaa, iyo kuwo madax ah oo ka socda qolooyinkoodii, oo kulligoodna magacyadooda loogu wada yeedhay, oo iyana bishii tobnaad maalinteedii kowaad ayay u fadhiisteen inay xaalkan soo baadhaan.
17 And they made an end with all, with the men that had brought home strange wives, not before the first day of the first month.
Oo waxay xaalka ku saabsan raggii naagaha qalaad guursaday oo dhan dhammeeyeen bishii kowaad maalinteedii kowaad.
18 And there were found among the sons of the priests that had brought home strange wives, namely, of the sons of Jeshua' the son of Jozadak, and his brethren: Ma'asseyah, and Eli'ezer, and Jarib, and Gedalyah.
Oo wiilashii wadaaddada waxaa laga dhex helay kuwo naago qalaad guursaday; waxayna ahaayeen wiilashii Yeeshuuca, ina Yoosaadaaq iyo walaalihiis oo ahaa Macaseeyaah, iyo Eliiceser, iyo Yaariib iyo Gedalyaah.
19 And they gave their hand to put away their wives, and being guilty, [they offered] a ram of the flock for their trespass.
Oo iyana waxay gacantooda ku dhiibeen oo ku ballanqaadeen inay naagahooda eryaan, oo iyagoo xujo leh waxay xujadooda ugu bixiyeen wan idaha laga soo qabtay.
20 And of the sons of Immer: Chanani, and Zebadyah.
Wiilashii Immeerna waxaa laga helay Xanaanii iyo Sebadyaah.
21 And of the sons of Charim: Ma'asseyah, and Elijah, and Shema'yah, and Jechiel, and 'Uzziyah.
Wiilashii Xaarimna, Macaseeyaah, iyo Eliiyaah, iyo Shemacyaah, iyo Yexii'eel, iyo Cusiyaah.
22 And of the sons of Pashchur: Elyo'enai, Ma'asseyah. Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and El'assah.
Wiilashii Fashxuurna, Eliyooceenay, iyo Macaseeyaah, iyo Ismaaciil, iyo Netaneel, iyo Yoosaabaad, iyo Elcaasaah.
23 Also of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shim'i, and Kelayan, the same is Kelita, Pethachyah, Judah, and Eli'ezer.
Oo reer Laawina, Yoosaabaad, iyo Shimcii, iyo Qeelaayaah (kaasu waa Qeliitaa), iyo Fetaxyaah, iyo Yahuudah, iyo Eliiceser.
24 And of the singers, Elyashib; and of the gate-keepers, Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
Raggii gabayaaga ahaana waxaa laga helay Eliyaashiib; irid-dhawryadiina waxaa laga helay Shalluum, iyo Telem, iyo Uurii.
25 And of Israel: Of the sons of Par'osh, Ramyah, and Yizziyah, and Malkiyah, and Miyamin, and El'azar, and Malkiyah, and Benayah.
Oo reer binu Israa'iilna waxaa laga helay wiilashii Farcosh oo ahaa Ramyaah, iyo Yisyaah, iyo Malkiiyaah, iyo Miyaamin, iyo Elecaasaar, iyo Malkiiyaah, iyo Benaayaah.
26 And of the sons of 'Elam; Matthanyah, Zecharyah, and Jechiel, and 'Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliyah.
Wiilashii Ceelaamna, Matanyaah, iyo Sekaryaah, iyo Yexii'eel, iyo Cabdii, iyo Yereemood, iyo Eliiyaah.
27 And of the sons of Zatthu: Elyo'enai, Elyashib, Matthanyah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and 'Aziza.
Wiilashii Satuuna, Eliyooceenay, iyo Eliyaashiib, iyo Matanyaah, iyo Yereemood, iyo Saabaad, iyo Casiisaa.
28 And of the sons of Bebai: Jehochanan, Chananyah, Zabbai, and 'Athlai.
Wiilashii Beebayna, Yehooxaanaan, iyo Xananyaah, iyo Sabbay, iyo Catlay.
29 And of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and 'Adayah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
Wiilashii Baaniina, Meshullaam, iyo Malluug, iyo Cadaayaah, iyo Yaashuub, iyo She'aal, iyo Yereemood.
30 And of the sons of Pachath-moab: 'Adna, and Kelal, Benayah, Ma'asseyah, Matthanyah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Menasseh.
Wiilashii Faxad Moo'aabna, Cadnaa, iyo Kelaal, iyo Benaayaah, iyo Macaseeyaah, iyo Matanyaah, iyo Besaleel, iyo Binnuwii, iyo Manaseh.
31 And of the sons of Charim: Eli'ezer, Yishiyah, Malkiyah, Shema'yah, Shim'on,
Wiilashii Haarimna, Eliiceser, iyo Yishiyaah, iyo Malkiiyaah, iyo Shemacyaah, iyo Shimcoon,
32 Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemaryah.
Benyaamiin, iyo Malluug, iyo Shemaryaah.
33 Of the sons of Chashum: Matthenai, Matthathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Menasseh, and Shim'i.
Wiilashii Xaashumna, Matenay, iyo Matataah, iyo Saabaad, iyo Eliifeled, iyo Yereemay, iyo Manaseh, iyo Shimcii.
34 Of the sons of Bani: Ma'adai, 'Amram, and Uel,
Wiilashii Baaniina, Macaday, iyo Camraam, iyo Uu'eel,
35 Benayah, Bedeyah, Keluhu,
iyo Benaayaah, iyo Beedyaah, iyo Keluux,
36 Vanyah, Meremoth, Elyashib,
iyo Wanyaah, iyo Mereemood, iyo Eliyaashiib,
37 Matthanyah, Matthenai, and Ja'assai,
iyo Matanyaah, iyo Matenay, iyo Yacasay,
38 And Bani, and Binnui, and Shim'i,
iyo Baanii, iyo Binnuwii, iyo Shimcii,
39 And Shelemyah, and Nathan, and 'Adayah,
iyo Shelemyaah, iyo Naataan, iyo Cadaayaah,
40 Machnadbai, Shashai, Sharai,
Maknadbay, iyo Shaashay, iyo Shaaray,
41 'Asar'el, and Shelemyahu, Shemaryah,
iyo Casareel, iyo Shelemyaah, iyo Shemaryaah,
42 Shallum, Amaryah, and Joseph.
iyo Shalluum, iyo Amaryaah, iyo Yuusuf.
43 Of the sons of Nebo: Je'iel, Matthithyah, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, and Joel, Benayah.
Wiilashii Nebona, Yecii'eel, iyo Matityaah, iyo Saabaad, iyo Sebiinaa, iyo Iddo, iyo Yoo'eel, iyo Benaayaah.
44 All these had taken strange wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
Oo kulli intaasoo dhammu waxay wada guursadeen naago qalaad, oo qaarkood waxay qabeen naago ay carruur ka dhaleen.
