Ezekiel 1
1 And it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was in the midst of the exiles by the river Kebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw divine visions.
Agora no trigésimo ano, no quarto mês, no quinto dia do mês, como eu estava entre os cativos junto ao rio Chebar, os céus foram abertos, e eu vi visões de Deus.
2 On the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of the exile of king Jehoyachin,
No dia 5 do mês, que foi o quinto ano do cativeiro do rei Joaquim,
3 Came the word of the Lord expressly unto Ezekiel the son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Kebar; and there came upon him there the inspiration of the Lord.
a palavra de Javé chegou a Ezequiel, o sacerdote, filho de Buzi, na terra dos caldeus junto ao rio Chebar; e a mão de Javé estava sobre ele.
4 And I saw, and behold, a storm-wind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a flaming fire, and a brightness was on it round about; and out of the midst of it was like the glitter of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Eu olhei, e eis que um vento tempestuoso saiu do norte: uma grande nuvem, com relâmpagos cintilantes, e um brilho ao redor dela, e do meio dela como se fosse metal incandescente, do meio do fogo.
5 And out of the midst thereof [I saw] the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: They had the likeness of a man.
Out de seu centro veio a semelhança de quatro seres vivos. Esta era a aparência deles: Eles tinham a semelhança de um homem.
6 And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
Todos tinham quatro rostos, e cada um deles tinha quatro asas.
7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the glitter of burnished copper.
Seus pés eram retos. A sola de seus pés era como a sola de um pé de bezerro; e eles brilhavam como bronze polido.
8 And hands of man [were visible] from beneath their wings on their four sides: and their faces and their wings [were alike] on all these four.
Eles tinham as mãos de um homem sob suas asas em seus quatro lados. Os quatro tinham seus rostos e suas asas assim:
9 Their wings were joined one to the other: they turned not about in their going; they went every one in the direction of one of their faces.
Suas asas estavam unidas umas às outras. Eles não se viraram quando foram. Cada um foi direto para a frente.
10 And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man; and the face of a lion, on the right side for all four of them; and the face of an ox on the left side for all four of them; and the face of an eagle for all four of them.
Quanto à semelhança de seus rostos, eles tinham o rosto de um homem. Os quatro tinham o rosto de um leão no lado direito. Os quatro tinham o rosto de um boi do lado esquerdo. Os quatro também tinham o rosto de uma águia.
11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were spread out upward; every one had two joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Such eram seus rostos. Suas asas estavam estendidas acima. Duas asas de cada uma tocavam a outra, e duas cobriam seus corpos.
12 And they went every one in the direction of one of his faces: whither the spirit was directed to go, they went; they turned not about in their going.
Cada uma delas foi em frente. Para onde o espírito deveria ir, eles foram. Eles não se viraram quando foram.
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like coals of fire, burning as with the appearance of torches; this [fire] it was which passed along between the living creatures: and a brightness was about the fire, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Quanto à semelhança dos seres vivos, sua aparência era como brasas de fogo ardentes, como a aparência de tochas. O fogo subia e descia entre as criaturas vivas. O fogo era brilhante e os relâmpagos se apagavam do fogo.
14 And the living creatures ran backward and forward like the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Os seres vivos correram e voltaram como a aparência de um relâmpago.
15 And I looked on the living creatures, and, behold, there was one wheel upon the earth close by the living creatures, by their four front faces.
Agora que vi os seres vivos, eis que havia uma roda sobre a terra ao lado dos seres vivos, para cada uma das quatro faces da mesma.
16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like the color of a chrysolite; and all four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as though it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
A aparência das rodas e seu trabalho era como um berilo. As quatro tinham uma semelhança. Sua aparência e seu trabalho era como se fosse uma roda dentro de uma roda.
17 Toward their four sides they went in their going: they turned not round in their going.
Quando eles foram, eles foram em suas quatro direções. Eles não giram quando vão.
18 As for their circumferences, they were so high that they excited fear: and their felloes were full of eyes round about on all these four.
Quanto às jantes, elas eram altas e horríveis; e as quatro tinham as jantes cheias de olhos por toda parte.
19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went near to them: and when the living creatures lifted themselves up from the earth, the wheels lifted themselves up.
Quando os seres vivos foram embora, as rodas foram ao lado deles. Quando os seres vivos foram erguidos da terra, as rodas foram erguidas.
20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went; [for] thither was [their] spirit to go: and the wheels lifted themselves up at the same time with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
Para onde quer que o espírito fosse, elas iam. O espírito estava para ir para lá. As rodas foram levantadas ao lado delas; pois o espírito do ser vivente estava nas rodas.
21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those lifted themselves up from the earth, the wheels lifted themselves up at the same time with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
Quando estas foram, estas foram. Quando estas ficaram de pé, estas ficaram de pé. Quando estas foram erguidas da terra, as rodas foram erguidas ao lado delas; pois o espírito do ser vivente estava nas rodas.
22 And the likeness of a vault was over the head of the living creatures, [shining] like the glitter of the purest crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Sobre a cabeça do ser vivo havia a semelhança de uma extensão, como um cristal fantástico para se olhar, estendida sobre suas cabeças acima.
23 And under the vault their wings were straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered them, and every one had two, which covered them, —[namely, ] their bodies.
Debaixo da extensão, suas asas estavam retas, uma em direção à outra. Cada uma tinha duas que cobriam este lado, e cada uma tinha duas que cobriam seus corpos deste lado.
24 And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, when they went, the sound of [their] speech, as the noise of an army: when they stood still, they let down their wings.
Quando eles foram, ouvi o ruído de suas asas como o ruído de grandes águas, como a voz do Todo-Poderoso, um ruído de tumulto como o ruído de um exército. Quando ficaram de pé, baixaram as asas.
25 And there was a voice from the vault that was over their head: when they stood still, they let down their wings.
Havia uma voz acima da extensão que estava sobre suas cabeças. Quando ficaram de pé, baixaram as asas.
26 And above the vault that was over their head was like the appearance of a sapphire-stone, the likeness of a throne: and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
Acima da extensão que estava sobre suas cabeças estava a semelhança de um trono, como a aparência de uma pedra de safira. Sobre a semelhança do trono havia uma semelhança como a aparência de um homem sobre ele acima.
27 And I saw as if it were the glitter of amber, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins upward; and from the appearance of his loins downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Eu vi como se fosse metal brilhante, como a aparência de fogo dentro dele ao redor, a partir da aparência de sua cintura e para cima; e a partir da aparência de sua cintura e para baixo eu vi como se fosse a aparência de fogo, e havia brilho ao redor dele.
28 Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about: this was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard the voice of one that spoke.
Como a aparência do arco-íris que está na nuvem no dia da chuva, assim era a aparência do brilho ao seu redor. Esta foi a aparência da semelhança da glória de Yahweh. Quando a vi, caí de cara, e ouvi uma voz de um que falava.
