Ezekiel 1
1 And it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was in the midst of the exiles by the river Kebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw divine visions.
Und es geschah im dreißigsten Jahr im vierten, am fünften des Monats, da ich inmitten der Weggeführten am Flusse Chebar war, daß die Himmel sich öffneten, und ich sah Gesichte Gottes.
2 On the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of the exile of king Jehoyachin,
Am fünften des Monats - es war das fünfte Jahr der Wegführung des Königs Jojachin, -
3 Came the word of the Lord expressly unto Ezekiel the son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Kebar; and there came upon him there the inspiration of the Lord.
Geschah das Wort Jehovahs an Jecheskel, den Sohn Busis, den Priester, im Lande der Chaldäer am Flusse Chebar, und es war allda die Hand Jehovahs auf ihm.
4 And I saw, and behold, a storm-wind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a flaming fire, and a brightness was on it round about; and out of the midst of it was like the glitter of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Und ich sah, und siehe, der Wind eines Wetters kam von Mitternacht, eine große Wolke, und ein wirbelndes Feuer, und ein Glanz dabei ringsumher, und aus seiner Mitte wie der Anblick der Glühkohle aus des Feuers Mitte.
5 And out of the midst thereof [I saw] the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: They had the likeness of a man.
Und inmitten ihrer war die Ähnlichkeit von vier Tieren, und ihr Aussehen war: Sie hatten die Ähnlichkeit eines Menschen.
6 And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
Und vier Gesichter hatte eines, und vier Flügel ein jedes von ihnen.
7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the glitter of burnished copper.
Und ihre Füße waren ein gerader Fuß, und ihrer Füße Sohle wie die Fußsohle eines Kalbes und schimmernd wie der Anblick von geglättetem Erz.
8 And hands of man [were visible] from beneath their wings on their four sides: and their faces and their wings [were alike] on all these four.
Und Menschenhände waren unter ihren Flügeln, bei ihren vier Richtungen, und ihrer Angesichter und ihrer Flügel waren je vier.
9 Their wings were joined one to the other: they turned not about in their going; they went every one in the direction of one of their faces.
Aneinander zusammengefügt waren ihre Flügel, und sie wandten sich nicht um bei ihrem Gehen; sie gingen, jeder Mann stracks vor seinem Angesicht.
10 And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man; and the face of a lion, on the right side for all four of them; and the face of an ox on the left side for all four of them; and the face of an eagle for all four of them.
Und die Ähnlichkeit ihrer Angesichter war eines Menschen Angesicht, und eines Löwen Angesicht zur Rechten der vier und das Angesicht eines Ochsen zur Linken der vier, und das Angesicht eines Adlers für die vier.
11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were spread out upward; every one had two joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Und ihre Angesichter und ihre Flügel waren oben getrennt, jeder Mann hatte zwei zusammengefügte, jeder Mann zwei, die ihre Leiber bedeckten.
12 And they went every one in the direction of one of his faces: whither the spirit was directed to go, they went; they turned not about in their going.
Und sie gingen, jeder Mann stracks vor seinem Angesicht; wohin der Geist war zu gehen, gingen sie, sie wandten sich nicht um bei ihrem Gehen.
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like coals of fire, burning as with the appearance of torches; this [fire] it was which passed along between the living creatures: and a brightness was about the fire, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Und die Ähnlichkeit der Tiere war wie brennende Kohlen des Feuers anzusehen, wie Fackeln anzusehen ging es zwischen den Tieren dahin, und einen Glanz hatte das Feuer, und aus dem Feuer ging Blitz hervor.
14 And the living creatures ran backward and forward like the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Und die Tiere liefen und kehrten zurück, wie der Blitz anzusehen.
15 And I looked on the living creatures, and, behold, there was one wheel upon the earth close by the living creatures, by their four front faces.
Und ich sah die Tiere, und siehe, ein Rad war auf der Erde neben den Tieren, bei ihren vier Gesichtern.
16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like the color of a chrysolite; and all four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as though it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
Die Räder und ihr Werk waren anzusehen wie der Anblick des Tharschischsteins, und eine Ähnlichkeit hatten alle vier. Und ihr Aussehen und ihr Werk waren, als ob ein Rad inmitten des Rades wäre.
17 Toward their four sides they went in their going: they turned not round in their going.
Nach ihren vier Richtungen gingen sie bei ihrem Gehen; sie wandten sich nicht um bei ihrem Gehen.
18 As for their circumferences, they were so high that they excited fear: and their felloes were full of eyes round about on all these four.
Und sie hatten ihre Felgen und ihre Höhe und waren furchtbar; und ihre Felgen voller Augen rings um die vier.
19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went near to them: and when the living creatures lifted themselves up from the earth, the wheels lifted themselves up.
Und beim Gehen der Tiere, gingen die Räder neben ihnen; und wenn die Tiere sich erhoben von der Erde, erhoben sich die Räder.
20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went; [for] thither was [their] spirit to go: and the wheels lifted themselves up at the same time with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
Wohin der Geist war zu gehen, gingen sie, dahin war der Geist zu gehen. Und die Räder hoben sich samt ihnen; denn der Geist des Tieres war in den Rädern.
21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those lifted themselves up from the earth, the wheels lifted themselves up at the same time with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
Wenn sie gingen, gingen sie; und wenn sie standen, standen sie; und wenn sie sich erhoben von der Erde, erhoben sich samt ihnen die Räder, denn der Geist des Tieres war in den Rädern.
22 And the likeness of a vault was over the head of the living creatures, [shining] like the glitter of the purest crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Und über den Häuptern des Tieres die Ähnlichkeit einer Ausbreitung, wie der Anblick von Kristall, furchtbar, ausgespannt oben über ihren Häuptern.
23 And under the vault their wings were straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered them, and every one had two, which covered them, —[namely, ] their bodies.
Und unter der Ausbreitung waren ihre Flügel gerade gegeneinander. Jeder Mann hatte zwei, die hier bedeckten, und jeder Mann zwei, die dort bedeckten ihre Leiber.
24 And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, when they went, the sound of [their] speech, as the noise of an army: when they stood still, they let down their wings.
Und ich hörte die Stimme ihrer Flügel, wie die Stimme vieler Wasser, wie die Stimme des Schaddai. Bei ihrem Gehen war die Stimme des Brausens wie die Stimme des Heerlagers. Bei ihrem Stehen ließen sie ihre Flügel sinken.
25 And there was a voice from the vault that was over their head: when they stood still, they let down their wings.
Und eine Stimme geschah über der Ausbreitung, die über ihrem Haupte war. Bei ihrem Stehen ließen sie ihre Flügel sinken.
26 And above the vault that was over their head was like the appearance of a sapphire-stone, the likeness of a throne: and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
Und oben über der Ausbreitung, die war über ihrem Haupte, wie das Aussehen eines Saphirsteines, die Ähnlichkeit eines Thrones, und auf der Ähnlichkeit des Thrones war eine Ähnlichkeit anzusehen wie ein Mensch oben darauf.
27 And I saw as if it were the glitter of amber, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins upward; and from the appearance of his loins downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Und ich sah wie den Anblick der Glühkohle, wie das Aussehen eines Feuers innerhalb desselben ringsum; vom Aussehen seiner Lenden und aufwärts, und vom Aussehen seiner Lenden unterwärts sah ich wie das Aussehen von Feuer, und hatte Glanz ringsumher.
28 Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about: this was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard the voice of one that spoke.
Wie das Aussehen des Bogens, der in der Wolke ist am Tag des Platzregens, so war anzusehen der Glanz ringsumher. Es war das Aussehen der Ähnlichkeit der Herrlichkeit Jehovahs. Und ich sah und fiel auf mein Angesicht und hörte die Stimme Eines, Der redete.
