Ezekiel 6

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:

2 Son of man, set thy face against the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,

Fils d’homme, tourne ta face contre les montagnes d’Israël, et prophétise contre elles,

3 And thou shalt say, O mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of the Lord Eternal! Thus hath said the Lord Eternal to the mountains, and to the hills, to the brooks, and to the valleys, Behold, I, even I, will bring over you the sword, and I will destroy your high-places.

et dis: Montagnes d’Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur, l’Éternel: Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, aux montagnes et aux collines, aux ravins et aux vallées: Voici, moi je fais venir sur vous l’épée, et je détruirai vos hauts lieux.

4 And your altars shall be made desolate, and your sun-images shall be broken: and I will cause your slain ones to fall before your idols.

Et vos autels seront dévastés, et vos colonnes consacrées au soleil seront brisées; et je ferai tomber vos blessés à mort devant vos idoles;

5 And I will lay the carcasses of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.

et je mettrai les cadavres des fils d’Israël devant leurs idoles, et je disperserai vos ossements autour de vos autels.

6 In all your dwelling-places the cities shall be laid in ruins, and the high-places shall be made desolate; in order that your altars may be laid in ruins and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and annihilated, and your sun-images may be cut down, and your works may be blotted out.

Dans toutes vos demeures les villes seront réduites en solitudes et les hauts lieux seront désolés, afin que vos autels soient délaissés et désolés, et que vos idoles soient brisées et ne soient plus, et que vos colonnes consacrées au soleil soient abattues, et vos ouvrages anéantis.

7 And the slain shall fall in the midst of you: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

Et les blessés à mort tomberont au milieu de vous; et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel.

8 Yet will I leave [some]; that ye shall have some that escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered in the [various] countries.

Mais je laisserai un reste, en ce que vous aurez des réchappés de l’épée parmi les nations, quand vous serez dispersés dans les pays.

9 And those of you that escape shall remember me among the nations among whom they shall have been carried captive, when I shall have broken their licentious heart, which had departed from me, even with their eyes, which were gone astray after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves on account of the evil deeds which they have committed with all their abominations.

Et vos réchappés se souviendront de moi parmi les nations où ils auront été emmenés captifs, quand j’aurai brisé leur cœur prostitué qui s’est détourné de moi, et leurs yeux qui se prostituent après leurs idoles; et ils auront horreur d’eux-mêmes à cause des iniquités qu’ils ont commises par toutes leurs abominations;

10 And they shall know that I am the Lord: not for naught have I spoken that I would do unto them this evil.

et ils sauront que moi, l’Éternel, je n’ai pas dit en vain que je leur ferais ce mal.

11 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Strike thy hands together, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the dreadful abominations of the house of Israel! who will have to fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Bats de tes mains, et frappe de ton pied, et dis: Hélas, pour toutes les abominations des iniquités de la maison d’Israël! car ils tomberont par l’épée, par la famine et par la peste.

12 He that is afar off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I let out all my fury on them.

Celui qui est loin mourra par la peste, et celui qui est près tombera par l’épée; et celui qui est demeuré de reste, et qui est assiégé, mourra par la famine; et je consommerai ma fureur sur eux.

13 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when their slain ones shall lie in the midst of their idols round about their altars, on every high hill, upon all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick-branched oak, —places where they presented sweet savor to all their idols.

Et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel, quand leurs blessés à mort seront au milieu de leurs idoles, autour de leurs autels, sur toute haute colline, sur tous les sommets des montagnes, et sous tout arbre vert, et sous tout térébinthe touffu, dans les lieux où ils offraient à toutes leurs idoles des parfums agréables.

14 And I will stretch out my hand over them, and I will render the land desolate and waste, more than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Et j’étendrai ma main sur eux, et je ferai du pays une désolation et il sera plus désolé que le désert de Dibla, dans toutes leurs demeures; et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.
