Ezekiel 36
1 But thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, O mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of the Lord.
“Mwanadamu, itabirie milima ya Israeli na useme, ‘Ee milima ya Israeli, sikieni neno la Bwana.
2 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because the enemy hath said regarding you, Aha, even the ancient high-places are become ours as a possession:
Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Kwa sababu adui wanasema juu yako, “Aha! Mahali palipoinuka pa zamani pamekuwa milki yetu.”’
3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because, even because men have made you desolate, and sought to swallow you up on every side, that ye might become a possession unto the residue of the nations, and ye are taken up as a talk for tongues, and an evil report of the people:
Kwa hiyo tabiri na useme, ‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Kwa sababu wamewafanya ukiwa na kuwagandamiza kila upande ili mpate kuwa milki ya mataifa mengine na kuwa kitu cha kusimangwa na kudhihakiwa miongoni mwa watu,
4 Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of the Lord Eternal, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal to the mountains, and to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys, to the desolate ruins, and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about:
kwa hiyo, ee milima ya Israeli, sikieni neno la Bwana Mwenyezi: Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo kwa milima na vilima, kwa makorongo na mabonde, kwa mahame yaliyo ukiwa, miji iliyoachwa ambayo imetekwa nyara na kudharauliwa na mataifa mengine yanayowazunguka,
5 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Idumea, that have appropriated my land unto themselves as a possession with the joy of all their heart, with derision in their soul, in order to drive it out that it may be for a prey.
hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Katika wivu wangu uwakao nimenena dhidi ya mataifa mengine na dhidi ya Edomu yote, kwa maana kwa furaha na hila katika mioyo yao waliifanya nchi yangu kuwa milki yao ili wapate kuteka nyara sehemu yake ya malisho.’
6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, In my zealousness and in my fury have I spoken, because ye have borne the reproach of the nations:
Kwa hiyo tabiri kuhusu nchi ya Israeli na uiambie milima na vilima, makorongo na vijito na mabonde: ‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Ninanena katika wivu wa ghadhabu yangu kwa sababu mmedharauliwa na mataifa.
7 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I have indeed lifted up my hand, that the nations who are round about you— these shall bear their shame.
Kwa hiyo hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Ninaapa kwa mkono wangu ulioinuliwa kwamba mataifa wanaowazunguka nao pia watadharauliwa.
8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall send forth your boughs, and your fruit shall ye bear for my people Israel, for they are near at hand to come.
“‘Lakini ninyi, ee milima ya Israeli, mtatoa matawi na matunda kwa ajili ya watu wangu Israeli, kwa sababu hivi karibuni watakuja nyumbani.
9 For, behold, I will be for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and ye shall be sown;
Mimi ninawajibika nanyi na nitawaangalia kwa upendeleo, mtalimwa na kupandwa mbegu,
10 And I will multiply upon you men, all the house of Israel— altogether; and the cities shall be inhabited again, and the ruins shall be rebuilt;
nami nitaizidisha idadi ya watu kwenu, naam, nyumba yote ya Israeli. Miji itakaliwa na watu na magofu yatajengwa upya.
11 And I will multiply upon you men and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your old estates, and will do more good unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Nitaongeza idadi ya watu na wanyama juu yenu, nao watazaana sana na kuwa wengi mno. Nitawakalisha watu ndani yenu kama ilivyokuwa wakati uliopita, nami nitawafanya mfanikiwe kuliko hapo kwanza. Ndipo mtakapojua kuwa Mimi ndimi Bwana.
12 Yea, I will cause to walk upon you men, even my people Israel, and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be unto them as an inheritance, and thou shalt not any more henceforth cast them out.
Nitawafanya watu, watu wangu Israeli, kutembea juu yenu. Watawamiliki ninyi, nanyi mtakuwa urithi wao, kamwe hamtawaondolea tena watoto wao.
13 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast been one that hath ever cast out thy nations:
“‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Kwa sababu watu wanakuambia, “Unawala watu na kuliondolea taifa lako watoto wake,”
14 Therefore shalt thou not devour up men any more, and thy nations shalt thou not cast out any more, saith the Lord Eternal.
kwa hiyo hutakula tena watu wala kulifanya tena taifa lako lisiwe na watoto, asema Bwana Mwenyezi.
15 And I will not let be heard against thee any more the reproach of the nations, and the disgrace of the people shalt thou not bear any more, and thy nations shalt thou not cast out any more, saith the Lord Eternal.
Sitakufanya tena usikie dhihaka za mataifa, wala kudharauliwa na kabila za watu, wala kulifanya taifa lako lianguke, asema Bwana Mwenyezi.’”
16 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Neno la Bwana likanijia tena, kusema:
17 Son of man, the house of Israel, when they dwelt in their own land, defiled it through their way and through their doings: like the uncleanness of a woman in her separation was their way before me.
“Mwanadamu, nyumba ya Israeli walipokuwa wakiishi katika nchi yao wenyewe, waliinajisi kwa mwenendo wao na matendo yao. Mwenendo wao mbele zangu ulikuwa kama mwanamke aliye katika hedhi.
18 And I poured out my fury over them because of the blood that they had shed in the land, and because through their idols they had polluted it;
Hivyo nilimwaga ghadhabu yangu juu yao kwa sababu walikuwa wamemwaga damu katika nchi na kwa sababu walikuwa wameitia nchi unajisi kwa sanamu zao.
19 And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings did I judge them.
Nikawatawanya miongoni mwa mataifa, nao wakaenda huku na huko katika nchi mbalimbali, nikawahukumu sawasawa na mwenendo wao na matendo yao.
20 And when they were come unto the nations, whither they were gone, they profaned my holy name; because they said of them, These are the people of the Lord, and out of his land are they gone forth.
Tena popote walipokwenda miongoni mwa mataifa walilitia unajisi Jina langu takatifu, kwa kuwa watu walisema kuwahusu, ‘Hawa ndio watu wa Bwana, lakini imewapasa kuondoka katika nchi yake.’
21 But I had pity for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they were gone.
Lakini niliwahurumia kwa ajili ya Jina langu takatifu, ambalo nyumba ya Israeli imelitia unajisi miongoni mwa mataifa huko walikokwenda.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Not for your sake do I this, O house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye are gone.
“Kwa hiyo iambie nyumba ya Israeli, ‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Si kwa ajili yako, ee nyumba ya Israeli, kwamba ninafanya mambo haya, bali ni kwa ajili ya Jina langu takatifu, ambalo mmelitia unajisi miongoni mwa mataifa mliyoyaendea.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord Eternal, when I will be sanctified through you before your eyes.
Nitauonyesha utakatifu wa Jina langu kuu, ambalo limetiwa unajisi miongoni mwa mataifa, jina ambalo limetiwa unajisi miongoni mwao. Ndipo mataifa watakapojua kuwa Mimi ndimi Bwana, asema Bwana Mwenyezi, nitakapojionyesha mwenyewe kuwa mtakatifu kwa kuwapitia ninyi mbele ya macho yao.
24 And I will take you from among the nations, and I will gather you out of all the countries, and I will bring you unto your own land.
“‘Kwa kuwa nitawaondoa ninyi toka mataifa, nitawakusanya kutoka nchi zote na kuwarudisha kwenye nchi yenu wenyewe.
25 And I will sprinkle upon you clean water, and ye shall be clean: from all your impurities, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Nitawanyunyizia maji safi, nanyi mtakuwa safi, nitawatakasa kutoka uchafu wenu wote na kutoka sanamu zenu zote.
26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will remove the heart of stone out of your body, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
Nitawapa moyo mpya na kuweka roho mpya ndani yenu, nitaondoa ndani yenu moyo wenu wa jiwe na kuwapa moyo wa nyama.
27 And my spirit I will put within you, and I will cause that you shall walk in my statutes, and that my ordinances ye shall keep, and do them.
Nami nitaweka Roho yangu ndani yenu na kuwafanya ninyi mfuate amri zangu na kuwafanya kuwa waangalifu kuzishika sheria zangu.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be unto me for a people, and I truly will be unto you as a God.
Mtaishi katika nchi niliyowapa baba zenu, ninyi mtakuwa watu wangu nami nitakuwa Mungu wenu.
29 And I will save you from all kinds of your impurities; and I will call unto the corn, and increase it, and I will not lay famine upon you.
Nitawaokoa ninyi kutoka unajisi wenu wote. Nitaiita nafaka na kuiongeza iwe nyingi sana nami sitaleta njaa juu yenu.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the trees, and the products of the field: in order that ye may receive no more reproach on account of famine among the nations.
Nitaongeza matunda ya miti na mazao ya mashamba, ili kwamba msipate tena aibu miongoni mwa mataifa kwa ajili ya njaa.
31 Then shall ye remember your ways that they were evil, and your doings that were not good; and ye shall loathe yourselves on account of your iniquities and on account of your abominations.
Ndipo mtakapozikumbuka njia zenu za uovu na matendo yenu maovu, nanyi mtajichukia wenyewe kwa ajili ya dhambi zote na matendo yenu ya kuchukiza.
32 Not for your sake do I this, saith the Lord Eternal, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded because of your ways, O house of Israel.
Ninataka ninyi mjue kwamba sifanyi hili kwa ajili yenu, asema Bwana Mwenyezi. Oneni aibu na mkatahayari kwa ajili ya mwenendo wenu, ee nyumba ya Israeli!
33 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, On the day of my cleansing you from all your iniquities, when I cause the cities to be inhabited, and when the ruins are built up,
“‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Siku ile nitakapowasafisha kutoka dhambi zenu zote, nitarudisha watu waishi katika miji yenu na magofu yatajengwa upya.
34 And when the desolate land is tilled, instead that it was a waste before the eyes of every passer by:
Nchi iliyokuwa ukiwa italimwa badala ya kukaa ukiwa machoni mwa wale wote wanaopita ndani yake.
35 Then shall they say, This land, that was desolate, is become like the garden of 'Eden; and the cities that were ruined, and desolate, and broken down, are become fortified, and inhabited.
Watasema, “Hii nchi iliyokuwa imeachwa ukiwa sasa imekuwa kama bustani ya Edeni, miji ile iliyokuwa magofu, ukiwa na kuangamizwa, sasa imejengewa ngome na kukaliwa na watu.”
36 And the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord have built up the broken-down [places], have planted the desolate [land]: I the Lord have spoken this, and have done it.
Ndipo mataifa yanayowazunguka yaliyobakia watakapojua kuwa Mimi Bwana nimejenga tena kile kilichoharibiwa na nimepanda tena kile kilichokuwa ukiwa. Mimi Bwana nimenena, nami nitalifanya.’
37 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Also in this will I yet suffer myself to be entreated of by the house of Israel, to do it for them, I will increase them with men like flocks [in multitude].
“Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Mara nyingine tena nitasikia maombi ya nyumba ya Israeli na kuwatendea jambo hili: Nitawafanya watu wake kuwa wengi kama kondoo,
38 As the flocks of the holy things, as the flocks of Jerusalem on her appointed feasts, so shall the ruined cities be full of flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
kuwa wengi kama kundi la kondoo kwa ajili ya dhabihu huko Yerusalemu wakati wa sikukuu zao za wakati ulioamriwa. Hivyo ndivyo miji iliyokuwa magofu itajazwa na makundi ya watu. Ndipo watakapojua kuwa Mimi ndimi Bwana.”
