Ezekiel 35

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, set thy face against the mountain of Se'ir, and prophecy against it,

“Mwanadamu, weka uso wako juu ya Mlima Seiri na tabiri dhidi yake.

3 And say unto it, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will be against thee, O mountain of Se'ir, and I will stretch out my hand over thee, and I will render thee desolate and wasted.

Uiambie, 'Bwana Yahwe asema hivi: Tazama! ni juu yako, Mlima Seiri, nitakupiga kwa mkono wangu na kukufanya ukiwa na tishio.

4 Thy cities will I lay in ruins, and thou thyself shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

Nitaiharibu miji yenu, na wewe mwenyewe utakuwa ukiwa; kisha utajua kuwa mimi ni Yahwe.

5 Because thou hast had an undying hatred, and didst surrender the children of Israel to the power of the sword, at the time of their calamity, at the time of the iniquity of the end:

Kwa sababu umekuwa adui kwa watu wangu Israeli siku zote, na kwa sababu umewatoa kwenye mikono ya upanga wakati wa mateso yao, wakati adhabu yao itakapokuwa katika ukubwa wake.

6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Eternal, I will surely let thy blood flow, and blood shall pursue thee; since thou didst not hate blood-shedding, so shall blood pursue thee.

Kwa hiyo, kama niishivyo-hivi ndivyo Bwana Yahwe asemavyo-nitaandaa kwa ajili ya damu, na damu na kukufutilia! Kwa kuwa hukuchukia damu, damu itakufuatilia.

7 Thus will I change the mountain of Se'ir into a desolate land and a waste, and I will cut off from it him that travelleth forward and backward.

Nitaufanya Mlima Seiri mkamilifu na ukiwa wakati nitakapoukatilia mbali kutoka huo yeyote apitaye na arudiye tena.

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain: as regardeth thy hills, and thy valleys, and all thy ravines, in them shall fall those that are slain by the sword.

Kisha nitaijaza milima kwa watu wao waliokufa. Milima yako na mabonde na mifereji-wale walioawa kwa upanga wataanguka kati yao.

9 Into perpetual desolations will I change thee, and thy cities shall not be restored: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

Nitakufanya mkiwa daima. Miji yako haitakaliwa na watu, lakini mtajua kwamba mimi ni Yahwe.

10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall indeed be mine, and we will take possession thereof; whereas the Lord was there:

Umesema, “Haya mataifa mawili na hizi nchi mbili zitakuwa zangu, na tutazimiliki,” hata wakati Yahwe alipokuwa pamoja nao.

11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will even do according to thy anger, and according to thy envy which thou didst use out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I judge thee.

Kwa hiyo, kama niishivyo-hivi ndivyo Bwana Yahwe asemavyo-hivyo nitafanya kulingana na hasira yako na kulingana na wivu wako ambao uliousikia katika chuki yako ya Israeli, na nitajidhihirisha kwao nitakapokuhukumu.

12 And thou shalt know that I am the Lord: I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given unto us to consume them.

Hivyo utajua kwamba mimi ni Yahwe. Nimeyasikia matukano yako yote uliyasema dhidi ya milima ya Israeli, uliposema, “Wameharibiwa; wametolewa kwetu tuwale.

13 And ye boasted greatly against me with your mouth, and have multiplied against me your words: I have indeed heard them.

“Nanyi mmejitukuza juu yangu kwa kile mlichokisema, na mmeongeza maneno juu yangu; na kuyasikia yote.

14 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.

Bwana Yahwe asema hivi: Nitakufanya ukiwa, wakati dunia nzima itakapofurahi.

15 As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was made desolate: so will I do unto thee; desolate shalt thou be, O mountain of Se'ir, and all Idumea—altogether; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Kama vile unavyofurahi juu ya urithi wa watu wa Israeli kwa sababu ukiwa ya wake, ndivyo nitakavyokutenda wewe. Utakuwa ukiwa, Mlima Seiri, na Edomu yote! Kisha watajua kwamba mimi ni Yahwe.”'
