Ezekiel 27
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée de nouveau, en ces termes:
2 But thou, O son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre;
« Toi, fils de l'homme, élève une complainte sur Tyr;
3 And say unto Tyre, O thou that art situated at the entrances of the sea, the merchant of the people unto many isles, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, O Tyre, thou hast indeed said, I am perfect in beauty.
et dis à Tyr: « Toi qui habites à l'entrée de la mer, toi qui es le marchand des peuples dans de nombreuses îles, le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Toi, Tyr, tu as dit, « Je suis d'une beauté parfaite.
4 In the heart of the seas were thy boundaries, thy builders had perfected thy beauty.
Tes frontières sont au cœur des mers. Tes bâtisseurs ont perfectionné ta beauté.
5 Of the fir-trees from Senir had they built thee all thy woodwork: cedars from Lebanon had they taken to make masts for thee.
On a fait toutes tes planches avec des cyprès de Senir. Ils ont pris un cèdre du Liban pour te faire un mât.
6 Of the oaks of Bashan had they made thy oars; thy rudder had they made inlaid with ivory of boxwood, brought out of the isles of the Kittim.
Ils ont fait tes rames avec des chênes de Basan. Ils ont fait tes bancs en ivoire incrusté dans du bois de cyprès des îles de Kittim.
7 Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was thy flag to be unto thee a sign: of blue and purple from the isles of Ellishah was thy cover.
Ta voile était de fin lin brodé d'Égypte, qu'elle puisse être pour vous une bannière. Le bleu et le violet des îles d'Elishah étaient votre auvent.
8 The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy oarsmen: thy wise men, O Tyre, that were in thee, these were thy pilots.
Les habitants de Sidon et d'Arvad étaient tes rameurs. Tes sages, Tyr, étaient en toi. C'étaient vos pilotes.
9 The elders of Gebal and her wise men were in thee thy caulkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to carry on thy commerce.
Les vieillards de Gebal et ses sages étaient vos réparateurs de coutures de navires en vous. Tous les navires de la mer et leurs marins étaient en toi. pour traiter votre marchandise.
10 They of Persia and of Lud and of Put were in thy army, thy men of war: the shield and the helmet did they hang up in thee; these gave thee thy elegance.
"''La Perse, Lud et Put étaient dans ton armée, vos hommes de guerre. Ils ont accroché le bouclier et le casque en vous. Ils ont montré votre beauté.
11 The men of Arvad with thy army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadim were in thy towers: their quivers they hung upon thy walls round about; these made perfect thy beauty.
Les hommes d'Arvad avec ton armée étaient sur tes murs tout autour, et des hommes vaillants étaient dans tes tours. Ils ont accroché leurs boucliers sur vos murs tout autour. Ils ont perfectionné votre beauté.
12 Tharshish was thy merchant through the abundance of all kind of wealth: with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they supplied thy markets.
"''Tarsis était ton marchand en raison de la multitude de richesses de toutes sortes. Ils échangeaient pour tes marchandises de l'argent, du fer, de l'étain et du plomb.
13 Javan, Thubal, and Meshech; these were thy merchants: with the persons of men and vessels of copper they carried on thy commerce.
"''Javan, Tubal et Meshech étaient tes commerçants. Ils échangeaient des personnes et des objets d'airain contre tes marchandises.
14 They of the family of Thogarmah furnished thy supplies in horses and horsemen and mules.
"''Les gens de la maison de Togarma ont échangé vos marchandises avec des chevaux, des chevaux de guerre et des mules.
15 The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles fetched the merchandise from thy place: chamois horns, ivory, and ebony did they bring as presents for thee.
"''Les hommes de Dedan ont fait du commerce avec toi. De nombreuses îles ont été le marché de ta main. Ils vous ont apporté en échange des cornes d'ivoire et d'ébène.
16 Syria was thy trader by reason of the multitude of thy productions: with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies they made deposits in thy treasuries.
"''La Syrie était ton marchand en raison de la multitude de tes ouvrages. Ils ont échangé pour tes marchandises des émeraudes, de la pourpre, des broderies, du lin fin, du corail et des rubis.
17 Judah, and the land of Israel, these were thy merchants: in wheat of Minnith, and balsam, and honey, and oil, and balm they carried on thy commerce.
"''Juda et le pays d'Israël étaient vos commerçants. Ils échangeaient contre vos marchandises du blé de Minnith, des confiseries, du miel, de l'huile et du baume.
18 Damascus was thy trader in the multitude of thy productions, for the multitude of all wealth, with the wine of Chelbon, and white wool.
"''Damas a été ton marchand pour la multitude de tes ouvrages, à cause de la multitude de richesses de toutes sortes, avec le vin d'Helbon et la laine blanche.
19 Dan also and Javan brought silken goods into thy warehouses: hardened iron, cassia, and calamus came among thy commerce.
"''Vedan et Javan ont échangé avec le fil pour vos marchandises; le fer forgé, la casse et le calame étaient parmi vos marchandises.
20 Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for riding on.
"''Dedan était votre marchand de précieuses couvertures de selle pour l'équitation.
21 Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, these were the traders of thy place in lambs, and wethers, and he-goats: in these were they thy traders.
"''L'Arabie et tous les princes de Kédar étaient vos marchands préférés d'agneaux, de béliers et de chèvres. En cela, ils étaient vos marchands.
22 The merchants of Sheba and Ra'mah, —these were thy merchants: in the best of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold, they furnished thy supplies.
"''Les commerçants de Saba et de Rama étaient vos commerçants. Ils échangeaient pour vos marchandises avec les meilleures de toutes les épices, toutes les pierres précieuses et l'or.
23 Charan, and Canneh, and 'Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, [and] Kilmad, were thy merchants.
"''Haran, Canneh, Eden, les marchands de Saba, Asshur et Chilmad, étaient tes marchands.
24 These were thy merchants in ornamental wares, in cloaks of blue, and broidered work, and in chests of damask cloth, bound with cords, and packed in cedar, in thy market-place.
Ils étaient tes marchands d'articles de choix, d'étoffes bleues et brodées, de coffres de cèdre, de riches vêtements liés par des cordes, parmi tes marchandises.
25 The ships of Tharshish were thy caravans in thy commerce: and thou wast made full, and becamest very rich in the heart of the seas.
"« Les navires de Tarsis étaient vos caravanes pour vos marchandises. Vous avez été réapprovisionné et rendu très glorieux au cœur des mers.
26 Into great waters brought thee those that were thy rowers: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
Tes rameurs t'ont fait entrer dans de grandes eaux. Le vent d'est vous a brisé au cœur des mers.
27 Thy wealth, and thy warehouses, thy commerce, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy caulkers, and the conductors of thy commerce, and all thy men of war that were in thee, and in all thy assemblage which was in the midst of thee, fell into the heart of the seas on the day of thy downfall.
Vos richesses, vos biens, vos marchandises, vos marins, vos pilotes, vos réparateurs de coutures de navires, les revendeurs de votre marchandise, et tous vos hommes de guerre qui sont en vous, avec toute votre compagnie qui est parmi vous, tombera dans le cœur des mers au jour de ta ruine.
28 At the sound of the painful cry of thy pilots quake [thy] rural districts.
Au son du cri de tes pilotes, les pâturages vont trembler.
29 And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, come down from their ships, they stand upon the land;
Tous ceux qui manient les rames, les marins et tous les pilotes de la mer, descendront de leurs vaisseaux. Ils se tiendront sur la terre,
30 And cause their voice to be heard concerning thee, and cry bitterly, and cast up dust upon their heads, they wallow in the ashes;
et fera entendre sa voix sur vous, et pleurera amèrement. Ils jetteront de la poussière sur leurs têtes. Ils se vautreront dans les cendres.
31 And they make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth, and they weep for thee with bitterness of heart in a bitter complaint.
Ils se rendront chauves pour toi, et se vêtir de sacs. Ils pleureront pour vous dans l'amertume de l'âme, avec un deuil amer.
32 And they take in their wailing a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, Who is like Tyre, who is so utterly destroyed in the midst of the sea?
Dans leurs gémissements, ils se lamenteront sur toi, et se lamenter sur vous, en disant, « Qui est là comme Tyr? comme celle qui est amenée au silence au milieu de la mer?
33 When thy supplies went forth out of the seas, thou didst satisfy many people: with the multitude of thy wealth and of thy commerce thou didst enrich the kings of the earth.
Quand tes marchandises venaient des mers, tu as rempli de nombreux peuples. Tu as enrichi les rois de la terre avec la multitude de vos richesses et de vos marchandises.
34 [Now] at the time thou art broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, thy commerce and all thy assemblage fell in the midst of thee.
Au temps où tu étais brisé par les mers, dans les profondeurs des eaux, votre marchandise et toute votre société sont tombées en vous.
35 All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at thee, and the hair of their kings stand at an end, grieved are their countenances.
Tous les habitants des îles s'étonnent de toi, et leurs rois ont horriblement peur. Ils sont troublés dans leur visage.
36 The traders among the people shall hiss concerning thee: thou wast rendered as though thou hadst not been, and thou shalt not be any more for ever.
Les marchands parmi les peuples te sifflent. Vous avez connu une fin terrible, et vous ne serez plus. »'"
