Ezekiel 21
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
2 Son of man, direct thy face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht wider Jerusalem und predige wider die Heiligtümer und weissage wider das Land Israel
3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will be against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath; and I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
und sprich zum Lande Israel: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich; ich will mein Schwert aus der Scheide ziehen und will in dir ausrotten beide, Gerechte und Ungerechte.
4 But because I shall have cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked: therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north;
Weil ich denn in dir Gerechte und Ungerechte ausrotte, so wird mein Schwert aus der Scheide fahren über alles Fleisch, von Mittag her bis gen Mitternacht.
5 That all flesh may know that I the Lord have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.
Und soll alles Fleisch erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, mein Schwert habe aus der Scheide gezogen; und es soll nicht wieder eingesteckt werden.
6 But thou, son of man, do thou sigh: as though with broken loins, and with bitterness [of grief] shalt thou sigh before their eyes.
Und du, Menschenkind, sollst seufzen, bis dir die Lenden weh tun, ja, bitterlich sollst du seufzen, daß sie es sehen.
7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say, For the report, because it cometh, when every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be made feeble, and every spirit shall become faint, and all knees shall be changed into water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord Eternal.
Und wenn sie zu dir sagen werden: Warum seufzest du? sollst du sagen: Um des Geschreis willen, das da kommt, vor welchem alle Herzen verzagen, und alle Hände sinken, aller Mut fallen und alle Kniee so ungewiß stehen werden wie Wasser. Siehe, es kommt und wird geschehen, spricht der Herr HERR.
8 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus hath said the Lord, Say, The sword, the sword is sharpened, and also polished;
Du Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht der HERR: Sprich: Das Schwert, ja, das Schwert ist geschärft und gefegt.
10 In order to make a thorough slaughter is it sharpened; in order that it may glitter is it polished: how can we now rejoice, [when] the rod which reacheth my son excelleth in hardness every tree?
Es ist geschärft, daß es schlachten soll; es ist gefegt, daß es blinken soll. O wie froh wollten wir sein, wenn er gleich alle Bäume zu Ruten machte über die bösen Kinder!
11 And he hath given it to be polished, to make it fit to grasp it in the hand: it is the sword which is sharpened, and it is polished, to place it into the hand of the slayer.
Aber er hat ein Schwert zu fegen gegeben, daß man es fassen soll; es ist geschärft und gefegt, daß man's dem Totschläger in die Hand gebe.
12 Cry aloud and wail, O son of man; for it cometh against my people, it cometh against all the princes of Israel; brought together for the sword are they with my people: therefore strike [thy hand] upon thy thigh.
Schreie und heule, du Menschenkind; denn es geht über mein Volk und über alle Regenten in Israel, die dem Schwert samt meinem Volk verfallen sind. Darum schlage auf deine Lenden.
13 For a purification taketh place: and what if the irresistible rod will also come? [my son] would not be able to exist, saith the Lord Eternal.
Denn er hat sie oft gezüchtigt; was hat's geholfen? Es will der bösen Kinder Rute nicht helfen, spricht der Herr HERR.
14 But thou, son of man, prophesy, and strike thy hands together, and let “The sword” be repeated the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great that are slain, which lieth in wait for them everywhere.
Und du, Menschenkind, weissage und schlage deine Hände zusammen. Denn das Schwert wird zweifach, ja dreifach kommen, ein Würgeschwert, ein Schwert großer Schlacht, das sie auch treffen wird in den Kammern, dahin sie fliehen.
15 In order to make timid the heart, and to multiply the stumbling-blocks, do I bring the howling of the sword against all their gates: ah! it is made bright, it is made thin-edged for the slaughter.
Ich will das Schwert lassen klingen, daß die Herzen verzagen und viele fallen sollen an allen ihren Toren. Ach, wie glänzt es und haut daher zur Schlacht!
16 Gather up thy strength, go to the right hand, direct thyself, go to the left, whithersoever thy edge is turned.
Haue drein, zur Rechten und Linken, was vor dir ist!
17 And I also, —I will strike my hands together, and I will cause my fury to be assuaged: I the Lord have spoken it.
Da will ich dann mit meinen Händen darob frohlocken und meinen Zorn gehen lassen. Ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt.
18 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
19 But thou, O son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; out of one land shall both of them come forth: and select a place; at the head of the way to a city do thou select it.
Du Menschenkind, mache zwei Wege, durch welche kommen soll das Schwert des Königs zu Babel; sie sollen aber alle beide aus einem Lande gehen.
20 A way shalt thou appoint, that the sword may come against Rabbah of the children of 'Ammon, and [the other] against Judah [dwelling] in Jerusalem the fortified.
Und stelle ein Zeichen vorn an den Weg zur Stadt, dahin es weisen soll; und mache den Weg, daß das Schwert komme gen Rabba der Kinder Ammon und nach Juda, zu der festen Stadt Jerusalem.
21 For the king of Babylon hath halted at the parting of the way, at the commencement of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh the arrows, he consulteth with images, he looketh at the liver.
Denn der König zu Babel wird sich an die Wegscheide stellen, vorn an den zwei Wegen, daß er sich wahrsagen lasse, mit den Pfeilen das Los werfe, seinen Abgott frage und schaue die Leber an.
22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to erect battering-rams, to open the mouth with the [cry for] murder, to lift up the voice with shouting, to place battering-rams against the gates, to cast up a mound, and to build works of attack.
Und die Wahrsagung wird auf die rechte Seite gen Jerusalem deuten, daß er solle Sturmböcke hinanführen lassen und Löcher machen und mit großem Geschrei sie überfalle und morde, und daß er Böcke führen soll wider die Tore und da Wall aufschütte und Bollwerk baue.
23 And it will appear unto them as a false divination in their eyes, to those that had sworn oaths; but he will bring to remembrance their iniquity, that they may be caught.
Aber es wird sie solches Wahrsagen falsch dünken, er schwöre, wie teuer er will. Er aber wird denken an die Missetat, daß er sie gewinne.
24 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because ye have brought your iniquity to remembrance, as your transgressions are discovered, so that your sins do appear in all your doings: because ye are thus brought to remembrance, ye shall be caught by [his] hand.
Darum spricht der Herr HERR also: Darum daß euer gedacht wird um eure Missetat und euer Ungehorsam offenbart ist, daß man eure Sünden sieht in allem eurem Tun, ja, darum daß euer gedacht wird, werdet ihr mit Gewalt gefangen werden.
25 And thou, death-deserving wicked one, prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end, —
Und du, Fürst in Israel, der du verdammt und verurteilt bist, dessen Tag daherkommen wird, wenn die Missetat zum Ende gekommen ist,
26 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Remove the mitre, and take off the crown: this shall not be always so; exalt him that is low, and make him low that is high.
so spricht der Herr HERR: Tue weg den Hut und hebe ab die Krone! Denn es wird weder Hut noch die Krone bleiben; sondern der sich erhöht hat, der soll erniedrigt werden, und der sich erniedrigt, soll erhöht werden.
27 Overthrown, overthrown, overthrown will I render it: also this shall not belong [to any one], until he come whose right it is, and I will give it him.
Ich will die Krone zunichte, zunichte, zunichte machen, bis der komme, der sie haben soll; dem will ich sie geben.
28 And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal concerning the children of 'Ammon, and concerning their reproach: even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it polished, to destroy, that it may continue to glitter;
Und du, Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht der Herr HERR von den Kindern Ammon und von ihrem Schmähen; und sprich: Das Schwert, das Schwert ist gezückt, daß es schlachten soll; es ist gefegt, daß es würgen soll und soll blinken,
29 While they foresee unto thee falsehood, while they divine unto thee lies, to lay thee by the necks of the slain wicked, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end.
darum daß du falsche Gesichte dir sagen läßt und Lügen weissagen, damit du auch hingegeben wirst unter die erschlagenen Gottlosen, welchen ihr Tag kam, da die Missetat zum Ende gekommen war.
30 Put back [the sword] into its sheath! in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy origin, will I judge thee.
Und ob's schon wieder in die Scheide gesteckt würde, so will ich dich doch richten an dem Ort, da du geschaffen, und in dem Lande, da du geboren bist,
31 And I will pour out over thee my indignation, with the fire of my wrath will I blow against thee, and I will give thee up into the hand of brutish men, skilful in destroying.
und will meinen Zorn über dich schütten; ich will das Feuer meines Grimmes über dich aufblasen und will dich Leuten, die brennen und verderben können, überantworten.
32 To the fire shalt thou be given to be devoured; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land: thou shalt not be remembered [any more]; for I the Lord have spoken it.
Du mußt dem Feuer zur Speise werden, und dein Blut muß im Lande vergossen werden, und man wird dein nicht mehr gedenken; denn ich, der HERR, habe es geredet.
