Ezekiel 20
1 And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, that certain men of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and they sat down before me.
Και εν τω εβδόμω έτει, τω πέμπτω μηνί, τη δεκάτη του μηνός, ήλθον τινές εκ των πρεσβυτέρων του Ισραήλ διά να επερωτήσωσι τον Κύριον, και εκάθησαν έμπροσθέν μου.
2 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ, λέγων,
3 Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Is it to inquire of me that ye are coming? as I live, I will not let myself be inquired of by you, saith the Lord Eternal.
Υιέ ανθρώπου, λάλησον προς τους πρεσβυτέρους του Ισραήλ και ειπέ προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· Ήλθετε διά να με επερωτήσητε; Ζω εγώ, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός, δεν θέλω επερωτηθή από σας.
4 Wilt thou take them to task, wilt thou take them to task, son of man? then cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;
Θέλεις κρίνει αυτούς; υιέ ανθρώπου, θέλεις κρίνει; δείξον εις αυτούς τα βδελύγματα των πατέρων αυτών·
5 And say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, On the day when I made choice of Israel, I lifted up my hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and I made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt: and I lifted up my hand unto them, saying, I am the Lord your God.
και ειπέ προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· Εν τη ημέρα καθ' ην εξέλεξα τον Ισραήλ και ύψωσα την χείρα μου προς το σπέρμα του οίκου Ιακώβ και εγνωρίσθην εις αυτούς εν Αιγύπτω και ύψωσα την χείρα μου προς αυτούς, λέγων, Εγώ είμαι Κύριος ο Θεός σας,
6 On the same day I lifted up my hand unto them, to bring them forth from the land of Egypt into a land that I had selected for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is an ornament among all the countries.
εν εκείνη τη ημέρα ύψωσα την χείρα μου προς αυτούς ότι θέλω εξαγάγει αυτούς εκ γης Αιγύπτου εις γην την οποίαν προέβλεψα δι' αυτούς, γην ρέουσαν γάλα και μέλι, ήτις είναι η δόξα πασών των γαιών.
7 And I said unto them, Cast ye away every one of the abominations of his eyes, and on the idols of Egypt shall ye not defile yourselves: I am the Lord your God.
Και είπα προς αυτούς, Απορρίψατε έκαστος τα βδελύγματα των οφθαλμών αυτού και μη μιαίνεσθε με τα είδωλα της Αιγύπτου· εγώ είμαι Κύριος ο Θεός σας.
8 But they rebelled against me, and they would not hearken unto me; they did not cast away every one the abominations of their eyes, and the idols of Egypt did they not forsake: and I thought then to pour out my fury over them, to let out all my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
Αυτοί όμως απεστάτησαν απ' εμού και δεν ηθέλησαν να μου ακούσωσι· δεν απέρριψαν έκαστος τα βδελύγματα των οφθαλμών αυτών και δεν εγκατέλιπον τα είδωλα της Αιγύπτου. Τότε είπα να εκχέω τον θυμόν μου επ' αυτούς, διά να συντελέσω την οργήν μου εναντίον αυτών εν μέσω της γης Αιγύπτου.
9 But I acted for the sake of my name, so as not to profane it before the eyes of the nations, in the midst of whom they were; because I had made myself known unto them before their eyes, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt.
Πλην ένεκεν του ονόματός μου, διά να μη βεβηλωθή ενώπιον των εθνών, μεταξύ των οποίων ήσαν και έμπροσθεν των οποίων εγνωρίσθην εις αυτούς, έκαμον τούτο, να εξαγάγω αυτούς εκ γης Αιγύπτου.
10 I therefore caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
Και εξήγαγον αυτούς εκ γης Αιγύπτου και έφερα αυτούς εις την έρημον·
11 And I gave them my statutes, and my ordinances made I known to them, which a man is to do, that he may live through them.
και έδωκα εις αυτούς τα διατάγματά μου και έκαμον εις αυτούς γνωστάς τας κρίσεις μου, τας οποίας κάμνων ο άνθρωπος θέλει ζήσει δι' αυτών.
12 And also my sabbaths gave I unto them, to be as a sign between me and between them, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctify them.
Και τα σάββατά μου έδωκα έτι εις αυτούς, διά να ήναι μεταξύ εμού και αυτών σημείον, ώστε να γνωρίζωσιν ότι εγώ είμαι ο Κύριος ο αγιάζων αυτούς.
13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness; in my statutes they walked not, and my ordinances they despised, which a man is to do, that he may live through them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned: and I then thought to pour out my fury over them in the wilderness, to make an end of them.
Αλλ' ο οίκος Ισραήλ απεστάτησεν απ' εμού εν τη ερήμω· εν τοις διατάγμασί μου δεν περιεπάτησαν και τας κρίσεις μου απέρριψαν, τας οποίας κάμνων ο άνθρωπος θέλει ζήσει δι' αυτών· και τα σάββατά μου εβεβήλωσαν σφόδρα· τότε είπα να εκχέω τον θυμόν μου επ' αυτούς εν τη ερήμω, διά να εξολοθρεύσω αυτούς.
14 But I acted for the sake of my name, so as not to profane it before the eyes of the nations, before whose eyes I had brought them forth.
Πλην έκαμον τούτο ένεκεν του ονόματός μου, διά να μη βεβηλωθή ενώπιον των εθνών, έμπροσθεν των οποίων εξήγαγον αυτούς.
15 Yet did I also lift up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given [them], flowing with milk and honey, which is an ornament among all the countries.
Και εγώ ύψωσα ότι προς αυτούς την χείρα μου εν τη ερήμω, ότι δεν θέλω φέρει αυτούς εις την γην, την οποίαν έδωκα εις αυτούς, γην ρέουσαν γάλα και μέλι, ήτις είναι δόξα πασών των γαιών·
16 Because my ordinances they had despised, and in my statutes they had not walked, and my sabbaths they had profaned; for after their idols did their heart go.
διότι τας κρίσεις μου απέρριψαν και εν τοις διατάγμασί μου δεν περιεπάτησαν και τα σάββατά μου εβεβήλωσαν· διότι αι καρδίαι αυτών επορεύοντο κατόπιν των ειδώλων αυτών.
17 Nevertheless my eye looked pityingly on them, so as not to destroy them, and I did not make an end of them in the wilderness.
Και εφείσθη ο οφθαλμός μου επ' αυτούς, ώστε να μη εξαλείψω αυτούς, και δεν συνετέλεσα αυτούς εν τη ερήμω.
18 And I said unto their children in the wilderness, In the statutes of your fathers shall ye not walk, and their ordinances shall ye not keep, and on their idols shall ye not defile yourselves.
Αλλ' είπα προς τα τέκνα αυτών εν τη ερήμω, Μη περιπατείτε εν τοις διατάγμασι των πατέρων σας και μη φυλάττετε τας κρίσεις αυτών και μη μιαίνεσθε με τα είδωλα αυτών·
19 I am the Lord your God: in my statutes must ye walk, and my ordinances must ye keep, and do them;
εγώ είμαι Κύριος ο Θεός σας· εν τοις διατάγμασί μου περιπατείτε· και τας κρίσεις μου φυλάττετε και εκτελείτε αυτάς·
20 And my sabbaths must ye sanctify; and they shall be as a sign between me and between you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.
και αγιάζετε τα σάββατά μου, και ας ήναι μεταξύ εμού και υμών σημείον, ώστε να γνωρίζητε ότι εγώ είμαι Κύριος ο Θεός σας.
21 Nevertheless the children rebelled against me; in my statutes did they not walk, and my ordinances they kept not to do them, which a man is to do, that he may live through them; my sabbaths they profaned: and I then thought to pour out my fury over them, to let out all my anger against them in the wilderness.
Τα τέκνα όμως απεστάτησαν απ' εμού· εν τοις διατάγμασί μου δεν περιεπάτησαν και τας κρίσεις μου δεν εφύλαξαν, ώστε να εκτελώσιν αυτάς, τας οποίας κάμνων ο άνθρωπος θέλει ζήσει δι' αυτών· τα σάββατά μου εβεβήλωσαν· τότε είπα να εκχέω τον θυμόν μου επ' αυτούς, διά να συντελέσω την οργήν μου εναντίον αυτών εν τη ερήμω.
22 But I withdrew my hand, and acted for the sake of my name, so as not to profane it before the eyes of the nations, before whose eyes I had brought them forth.
Και απέστρεψα την χείρα μου και έκαμον τούτο ένεκεν του ονόματός μου, διά να μη βεβηλωθή ενώπιον των εθνών, έμπροσθεν των οποίων εξήγαγον αυτούς.
23 I also lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;
Ύψωσα έτι εγώ την χείρα μου προς αυτούς εν τη ερήμω, ότι ήθελον διασκορπίσει αυτούς μεταξύ των εθνών και διασπείρει αυτούς εις τους τόπους·
24 Because my ordinances they had not executed, and my statutes they had despised, and my sabbaths they had profaned, and after the idols of their fathers their eyes were directed.
διότι τας κρίσεις μου δεν εξετέλεσαν και τα διατάγματά μου απέρριψαν και τα σάββατά μου εβεβήλωσαν, και οι οφθαλμοί αυτών ήσαν κατόπιν των ειδώλων των πατέρων αυτών.
25 And I also let them follow statutes that were not good, and ordinances whereby they could not live;
Διά τούτο και εγώ έδωκα εις αυτούς διατάγματα ουχί καλά και κρίσεις, διά των οποίων δεν ήθελον ζήσει·
26 And I let them be defiled through their gifts, in that they caused to pass [through the fire] all that openeth the womb, in order that I might destroy them, to the end that they might know that I am the Lord.
και εμίανα αυτούς εις τας προσφοράς αυτών, εις το ότι διεβίβαζον διά του πυρός παν διανοίγον μήτραν, διά να ερημώσω αυτούς, ώστε να γνωρίσωσιν ότι εγώ είμαι ο Κύριος.
27 Therefore, speak unto the house of Israel, O son of man, and say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Yet in this too did your fathers blaspheme me, by their committing a trespass against me:
Διά τούτο, υιέ ανθρώπου, λάλησον προς τον οίκον Ισραήλ και ειπέ προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· κατά τούτο ότι οι πατέρες σας ύβρισαν εις εμέ, κάμνοντες παράβασιν εναντίον μου.
28 When I had brought them into the land, for which I had lifted up my hand to give it to them, they saw every high hill, and all the thick-branched trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and presented there their provoking offerings, and they brought there their sweet savor, and poured out there their drink-offerings.
Διότι αφού έφερα αυτούς εις την γην, περί της οποίας ύψωσα την χείρα μου ότι θέλω δώσει αυτήν εις αυτούς, τότε ενέβλεψαν εις πάντα λόφον υψηλόν και εις παν δένδρον κατάσκιον, και εκεί προσέφεραν τας θυσίας αυτών και έστησαν εκεί τας παροργιστικάς προσφοράς αυτών, και έθεσαν εκεί οσμήν ευωδίας αυτών και έκαμον εκεί τας σπονδάς αυτών.
29 Then said I unto them, What is this high-place whereunto ye go? And its name was called “The height” until this day.
Και είπα προς αυτούς, Τι δηλοί ο υψηλός τόπος, εις τον οποίον σεις υπάγετε; και το όνομα αυτού εκλήθη Βαμά, έως της σήμερον.
30 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Ha! do you pollute yourselves after the manner of your fathers; and after their abominations do ye go astray?
Διά τούτο ειπέ προς τον οίκον Ισραήλ, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· Ενώ σεις μιαίνεσθε εν τη οδώ των πατέρων σας και εκπορνεύετε κατόπιν των βδελυγμάτων αυτών
31 And when ye offer up your gifts, when ye make your sons pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even until this day: and I should allow myself to be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord Eternal, I will not let myself be inquired of by you.
και μιαίνεσθε με πάντα τα είδωλά σας έως της σήμερον, προσφέροντες τα δώρα σας, διαβιβάζοντες τους υιούς σας διά του πυρός, και εγώ θέλω επερωτηθή από σας, οίκος Ισραήλ; Ζω εγώ, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός, δεν θέλω επερωτηθή από σας.
32 And that which cometh up into your mind shall not at all come to pass, [namely, ] that ye say, We will be like the nations, like the families of the [other] countries, to serve wood and stone.
Και εκείνο το οποίον διαβουλεύεσθε, ουδόλως θέλει γείνει· διότι σεις λέγετε, Θέλομεν είσθαι ως τα έθνη, ως αι οικογένειαι των τόπων, εις το να λατρεύωμεν ξύλα και λίθους.
33 As I live, saith the Lord Eternal, surely, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
Ζω εγώ, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός, εξάπαντος εν χειρί κραταιά και εν βραχίονι εξηπλωμένω και εν θυμώ εκχεομένω θέλω βασιλεύσει εφ' υμάς.
34 And I will bring you out from the people, and I will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with [my] fury poured out.
Και θέλω σας εξαγάγει εκ των λαών και θέλω σας συνάξει εκ των τόπων, εις τους οποίους είσθε διεσκορπισμένοι, εν χειρί κραταιά και εν βραχίονι εξηπλωμένω και εν θυμώ εκχεομένω.
35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and I will hold judgment over you there, face to face.
Και θέλω σας φέρει εις την έρημον των λαών και εκεί θέλω κριθή με σας πρόσωπον προς πρόσωπον·
36 As I held judgment over your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I hold judgment over you, saith the Lord Eternal.
καθώς εκρίθην με τους πατέρας σας εν τη ερήμω της γης Αιγύπτου, ούτω θέλω σας κρίνει, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός.
37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;
Και θέλω σας περάσει υπό την ράβδον και θέλω σας φέρει εις τους δεσμούς της διαθήκης.
38 And I will separate from you those that have rebelled, and those that have transgressed against me: out of the country where they sojourn will I cause them to go forth, but into the land of Israel shall not one [of them] enter; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Και θέλω εκκαθαρίσει εκ μέσου υμών τους αποστάτας και τους ασεβήσαντας εις εμέ· θέλω εκβάλει αυτούς εκ της γης της παροικίας αυτών και δεν θέλουσιν εισέλθει εις γην Ισραήλ, και θέλετε γνωρίσει ότι εγώ είμαι ο Κύριος.
39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter [also], if ye will not hearken unto me; but my holy name do not profane any more with your gifts, and with your idols.
Σεις δε, οίκος Ισραήλ, ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· Υπάγετε, λατρεύετε έκαστος τα είδωλα αυτού, και του λοιπού, εάν δεν θέλητε να μου ακούητε· και μη βεβηλόνετε πλέον το όνομά μου το άγιον με τα δώρα σας και με τα είδωλά σας.
40 For on my holy mountain, on the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord Eternal, there shall serve me all the house of Israel, altogether, in the land: there will I accept them in favor, and there will I require your heave-offerings, and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.
Διότι επί του όρους του αγίου μου, επί του υψηλού όρους του Ισραήλ, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός, εκεί πας ο οίκος του Ισραήλ, πάντες οι εν τη γη θέλουσι με λατρεύσει· εκεί θέλω δεχθή αυτούς και εκεί θέλω ζητήσει τας προσφοράς σας και τας απαρχάς των δώρων σας με πάντα τα άγιά σας.
41 With your sweet savor will I accept you in favor, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered: and I will be sanctified through you before the eyes of the nations.
Θέλω σας δεχθή με οσμήν ευωδίας, όταν σας εξαγάγω εκ των λαών και σας συνάξω εκ των τόπων εις τους οποίους διεσκορπίσθητε· και θέλω αγιασθή εις εσάς ενώπιον των εθνών.
42 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I have lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers.
Και θέλετε γνωρίσει ότι εγώ είμαι ο Κύριος, όταν σας φέρω εις γην Ισραήλ, εις γην περί της οποίας ύψωσα την χείρα μου ότι θέλω δώσει αυτήν εις τους πατέρας σας.
43 And ye shall remember there your ways, and all your doings, whereby ye have been defiled; and ye shall loathe yourselves, because of all your evil deeds that ye have committed.
Και εκεί θέλετε ενθυμηθή τας οδούς σας και πάντα τα έργα σας, εις τα οποία εμιάνθητε· και θέλετε αποστραφή αυτοί εαυτούς έμπροσθεν των οφθαλμών σας, διά πάντα τα κακά σας όσα επράξατε.
44 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I deal with you for the sake of my name, not in accordance with your wicked ways, and in accordance with your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord Eternal.
Και θέλετε γνωρίσει ότι εγώ είμαι ο Κύριος, όταν κάμω ούτως εις εσάς ένεκεν του ονόματός μου, ουχί κατά τας πονηράς οδούς σας ουδέ κατά τα διεφθαρμένα έργα σας, οίκος Ισραήλ, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός.
45 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ, λέγων,
46 Son of man, set thy face in the direction toward the south, and preach toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the south.
Υιέ ανθρώπου, στήριξον το πρόσωπόν σου προς μεσημβρίαν και στάλαξον λόγον προς μεσημβρίαν και προφήτευσον κατά του δάσους της μεσημβρινής πεδιάδος·
47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour in thee every green tree, and every dry tree: the glowing flame shall not be quenched, and there shall be burnt therein all faces from the south to the north.
και ειπέ προς το δάσος της μεσημβρίας, Άκουσον τον λόγον του Κυρίου· Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· Ιδού, εγώ θέλω ανάψει πυρ εν σοι, και θέλει καταφάγει εν σοι παν δένδρον χλωρόν και παν δένδρον ξηρόν· η φλόξ η εξαφθείσα δεν θέλει σβεσθή, και παν πρόσωπον από μεσημβρίας μέχρι βορρά θέλει καυθή εν αυτώ.
48 And all flesh shall see that I the Lord have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.
Και πάσα σαρξ θέλει ιδεί, ότι εγώ ο Κύριος εξέκαυσα αυτό· δεν θέλει σβεσθή.
49 Then said I, Ah Lord Eternal! they say of me, Behold, he speaketh but in parables!
Και εγώ είπα, Φευ Κύριε Θεέ αυτοί λέγουσι περί εμού, δεν λαλεί ούτος παροιμίας;
