Ezekiel 18
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Und es geschah an mich das Wort Jehovahs, sprechend:
2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb in the country of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the teeth of the children are set on edge?
Was führt ihr auf Israels Boden dies Sprichwort, daß ihr sagt: Die Väter essen Herlinge und den Söhnen werden die Zähne stumpf davon?
3 As I live, saith the Lord Eternal, ye shall not have any more to use this proverb in Israel.
Bei Meinem Leben, spricht der Herr Jehovah, ihr sollt dies Sprichwort nimmer führen in Israel.
4 Behold, all the souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son—mine are they: the soul which sinneth that alone shall die.
Seht, Mein sind sie, alle Seelen, wie des Vaters Seele, so des Sohnes Seele, sie sind Mein. Die Seele, die da sündigt, sie soll sterben.
5 But if a man be righteous, and execute justice and righteousness;
Und der Mann, so da gerecht ist, und Recht tut und Gerechtigkeit,
6 Upon the mountains he eateth not, and his eyes he lifteth not up to the idols of the house of Israel, and the wife of his neighbor he defileth not, and unto a woman in her separation he cometh not near;
Der auf den Bergen nicht ißt, und seine Augen nicht erhebt zu den Götzen des Hauses Israels und nicht verunreinigt seines Nächsten Weib, und dem Weibe in ihrer Unreinheit nicht naht;
7 And he over-reacheth no man, he restoreth his pledge for a debt, a robbery he doth not commit, his bread he giveth to the hungry, and the naked he covereth with a garment;
Und der Mann, der nicht bedrückt, sein Pfand für die Schuld zurückgibt, keinen ausplündert, dem Hungernden sein Brot gibt und den Nackten bedeckt mit einem Kleide,
8 Upon interest he giveth not forth, and increase he doth not take, from wrong he withdraweth his hand, true judgment he executeth between man and man;
Nicht gibt auf Wucher, und keine Mehrung nimmt, vom Verkehrten seine Hand zurückwendet, ein wahrhaft Urteil tut zwischen Mann und Mann,
9 In my statutes he walketh steadfastly, and my ordinances he keepeth to deal truly: he is righteous, he shall surely live, saith the Lord Eternal.
Wandelt in Meinen Satzungen und hält Meine Rechte, daß er Wahrheit tue: gerecht ist er, er soll leben, spricht der Herr Jehovah.
10 If he [now] beget a dissolute son that sheddeth blood and doth to [his] brother any one of thee things;
Und zeugt er einen Sohn, einen Räuber, der Blut vergießt, und tut auch nur deren eines;
11 And he is one that doth not any of these [duties]; but eateth even upon the mountains, and defileth the wife of his neighbor;
Und er tut das alles nicht: denn er ißt auf den Bergen und verunreinigt das Weib seines Nächsten,
12 The poor and needy he over-reacheth, he is guilty of robberies, the pledge he restoreth not, and to the idols he lifteth up his eyes, abominations he committeth:
Der den Elenden und Dürftigen bedrükket, der ausplündert, das Pfand nicht zurückgibt und zu den Götzen erhebt seine Augen, Greuel tut,
13 Upon interest he giveth forth, and increase he taketh: and he should live? he shall not live; all these abominations hath he done, he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
Auf Wucher gibt und Mehrung nimmt. Und der soll leben? Nicht soll er leben! All diese Greuel tut er. Er soll des Todes sterben. Sein Blut soll auf ihm sein!
14 And behold, if he beget a son, who seeth all the sins of his father which he hath done, and he considereth, and doth not the like of them;
Und siehe, er zeugt einen Sohn, und der sieht alle Sünden seines Vaters, die er tut, und er fürchtet sich und tut nicht dergleichen;
15 Upon the mountains he eateth not, and his eyes he lifteth not up to the idols of the house of Israel, the wife of his neighbor he defileth not;
Ißt nicht auf den Bergen und erhebt nicht seine Augen zu den Götzen des Hauses Israels und verunreinigt nicht seines Nächsten Weib;
16 And he over-reacheth no man, a pledge he withholdeth not, and of a robbery he is never guilty, his bread he giveth to the hungry, and the naked he covereth with a garment;
Und bedrückt den Mann nicht, behält kein Pfand zurück und plündert nicht aus, gibt dem Hungrigen sein Brot, und bedeckt den Nackten mit einem Kleid,
17 From the poor he withdraweth his hand, interest and increase he taketh not: my ordinances he executeth; in my statutes he walketh: —he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
Kehrt von dem Elenden die Hand nicht zurück, nimmt nicht Wucher, noch Mehrung, tut Meine Rechte, wandelt in Meinen Satzungen - er soll nicht sterben ob seines Vaters Missetat! Er soll leben!
18 His father, because he unjustly withheld [wages], was guilty of robbery on his brother, and did that which is not good in the midst of his people, —and lo, he died through his iniquity.
Sein Vater, der mit Erpressung erpreßte, den Bruder ausplünderte, und der nicht das Gute tat inmitten seines Volkes, und siehe, der stirbt in seiner Missetat.
19 Yet say ye, Why doth not the son bear part of the iniquity of the father? when the son hath executed justice and righteousness, all my statutes hath he kept, and hath done them: he shall surely live.
Und sprechet ihr: Warum soll denn der Sohn an des Vaters Missetat nicht tragen? Weil der Sohn Recht und Gerechtigkeit getan, all Meine Satzungen gehalten und sie getan, soll er leben.
20 The soul that sinneth, she alone shall die; the son shall not help to bear the iniquity of the father and the father shall not help to bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Die Seele, die da sündigt, sie soll sterben. Der Sohn soll nicht tragen an der Missetat des Vaters, und der Vater soll nicht tragen an der Missetat des Sohnes, des Gerechten Gerechtigkeit soll sein auf ihm, und die Unge- rechtigkeit des Ungerechten soll auf ihm sein.
21 And the wicked, when he turneth away from all his sins that he hath committed, and keepeth all my statutes, and executeth justice and righteousness, shall surely live, he shall not die.
Wo aber der Ungerechte zurückkehrt von allen seinen Sünden, die er getan, und hält alle Meine Satzungen, und tut Recht und Gerechtigkeit, der soll gewißlich leben; er soll nicht sterben.
22 All his transgressions which he hath committed shall not be remembered unto him: through his righteousness which he hath done shall he live.
All seiner Übertretungen, die er getan, soll ihm nicht mehr gedacht werden, er soll leben in seiner Gerechtigkeit, die er hat getan.
23 Have I then the least pleasure in the death of the wicked? saith the Lord Eternal: and not in his turning away from his ways, that he may live?
Habe Ich Lust am Tode des Ungerechten, spricht der Herr Jehovah, und nicht an seiner Rückkehr von seinen Wegen, daß er lebe?
24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth wrong, and doth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? all his righteousness that he hath done shall not he remembered: through his trespass which he hath committed, and through his sin that he hath done, —through them shall he die.
Und wo der Gerechte kehrt zurück von seiner Gerechtigkeit und tut Verkehrtes nach all den Greueln, die der Ungerechte tut, sollte der es tun und leben? All seiner Gerechtigkeit, die er getan, wird man nicht mehr gedenken in der Untreue, die er begangen und in den Sünden, die er gesündigt hat, in ihnen soll er sterben!
25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equitable: hear now, O house of Israel, Is not my way equitable? is it not your ways which are not equitable?
Und ihr sprecht: Nicht recht ist der Weg des Herrn. So höret doch, ihr Haus Israel: Ist denn Mein Weg nicht recht, und sind nicht eure Wege nicht recht?
26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and doth wrong, and dieth therefore: through his wrong which he hath done must he die.
Wenn der Gerechte sich zurückkehrt von seiner Gerechtigkeit und tut Verkehrtes, so stirbt er darob. Ob seiner Verkehrtheit, die er tat, stirbt er.
27 Again, when the wicked turneth away from his wickedness which he hath committed, and executeth justice and righteousness: he shall indeed preserve his soul alive.
Und wenn der Ungerechte zurückkehrt von seiner Ungerechtigkeit, die er getan, und Recht tut und Gerechtigkeit, soll seine Seele er am Leben erhalten.
28 Because he hath considered, and turned away from all his transgressions which he had committed: he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Denn er sah es und kehrte zurück von allen seinen Übertretungen, die er getan, er soll leben, soll nicht sterben.
29 Yet say the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equitable: are not my ways equitable, O house of Israel? is it not your ways which are not equitable?
Und die vom Hause Israel sprechen: Des Herrn Weg ist nicht recht. Sind Meine Wege nicht recht, du Haus Israel, sind nicht eure Wege nicht recht?
30 Therefore will I judge you, every one according to his ways, O house of Israel, saith the Lord Eternal: return ye, and cause others to return from all your transgressions, that iniquity may not become your stumbling-block.
Darum werde Ich euch, jeden Mann nach seinen Wegen, richten, Haus Israel, spricht der Herr Jehovah. Kehrt zurück und wendet euch zurück von allen euren Übertretungen, daß die Missetat euch nicht zum Anstoß werde.
31 Cast away from yourselves all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Werfet von euch all eure Übertretungen, wodurch ihr abgefallen waret, und machet euch ein neues Herz und einen neuen Geist! Denn warum wollt ihr sterben, ihr vom Hause Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that deserveth to die, saith the Lord Eternal: therefore convert yourselves, and live.
Denn Ich habe keine Lust am Tod des Sterbenden, spricht der Herr Jehovah; darum kehrt zurück und lebet.
