< Ezekiel 16 >

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh,
2 Son of man, make known unto Jerusalem her abominations,
kami capa, a sak ih panuet thok hmuennawk to Jerusalem han panoeksak ah,
3 And thou shalt say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal unto Jerusalem, Thy origin and thy birth are out of the land of Canaan: thy father was an Emorite, and thy mother a Hittite.
Angraeng Sithaw mah Jerusalem khaeah, Na tacawthaih hoi na tapenhaih loe Kanaan prae ah oh; nam pa loe Amor kami ah oh moe, nam no loe Hit tanuh ah oh.
4 And as for thy birth, on the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, nor wast thou washed in water to he cleansed; and thou wast not rubbed with salt, nor wrapt in swaddling clothes.
Na tapenhaih niah na lelung qui aat ai, na thoeng hanah tui nam hluh ai, paloi tui hoiah tui amhlu ai moe, kahni hoi doeh ayaw ai.
5 No eye looked with pity on thee, to do any of these things unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out on the open field, with a loathing of thy body, on the day that thou wast born.
Tahmenhaih palungthin hoi to tiah sak hanah, mi mah doeh tahhmenhaih hoiah nang to khen ai; na tapenhaih niah nang loe panuet thok kami ni tih pongah, taw ah ang vah o sut.
6 But I passed then by thee, and I saw thee stained with thy own blood, and I said unto thee, In thy blood, live; yea, I said unto thee, In thy blood, live.
Nang khaeah kang zoh naah, athii nang nok puk, athii ahnai hoiah na oh naah, kai mah nang khaeah, Hing ah, Ue, athii ahnai hoi na oh naah, Hing ah, tiah kang naa.
7 Myriads, like the vegetation of the field, did I make of thee, and thou didst increase and become great, and thou attainedst the highest attractions: with thy breasts developed, and thy hair full grown; but thou wast still naked and bare.
8 But I passed then by thee, and saw thee, and, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread the skirt of my garment over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I swore unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord Eternal, and thou becamest mine.
Nang khaeah kang zoh moe, kang khet naah, khenah, nang loe palung han koi atue to phak boeh pongah, kahni to ka lak moe, bangkrai ah na ohhaih to kang khuk pae; ue, nang khaeah lokkamhaih ka sak moe, nang hoi lokmaihaih ka sak pacoengah, nang loe kai ih hmuen ah na oh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
9 Then did I bathe thee with water, yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee; and I anointed thee with oil.
Tui hoi kang pasaeh, ue, nang ih athii ahnainawk to kahoih ah kang pasaeh pacoengah, situi kang nok.
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and made thee shoes of badger's skin, and I placed on thy head a turban of fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
A aem kaom khukbuen hoiah kang pathoep moe, moihin khokpanai to kang buensak; puu ngan khukbuen hoiah kang pathoep moe, atho kana khukbuen to kang khuksak.
11 And I decked thee with ornaments, and I placed bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain around thy neck.
Atho kana khukbuen, aoih ih hmuennawk hoiah kang pathoep; na ban ah bantuek kang buensak moe, tahnong ah bungmu kang oihsak.
12 And I placed a ring on thy nose, and earrings in thy ears, and a crown of splendor on thy head.
Atho kaom thlung to na lupataeh ah kang zaengsak, naa tangkraeng to kang buensak moe, na lu ah sui lumuek kang mueksak.
13 Thus wast thou ornamented with gold and silver; and thy garments were of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; fine flour, and honey, and oil didst thou eat: and thou wast exceedingly beautiful, and thou didst succeed to acquire dominion.
To tiah sui hoi sumkanglung hoiah kang pathoep; nang loe puu ngan, atho kana khukbuen hoi aem kaom khukbuen to nang khuk; takaw kahoih, khoitui hoi situi to na caak: na krang hoih parai pongah, siangpahrang zu ah na oh.
14 And thy fame went forth among the nations because of thy beauty; for it was perfect through my glorious ornament, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord Eternal.
Na tungkrang hoih pongah, na krang hoihaih to Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk salakah amthang phaeng; kang paek ih hoihaih mah ni na krang to ang hoihsak, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
15 But thou didst trust in thy beauty, and play the harlot because of thy fame, and lavish thy lewd caresses on every one that passed by—on him they were bestowed.
Toe na krang hoihaih to na oep moe, na hmin amthanghaih to tangzat zaw kami ah nang coengsak ving; tamquta hoi kholong caeh kaminawk hoiah zaehaih na sak pongah, na krang hoihaih loe nongpa boih han ni oh ving boeh.
16 And thou didst take from thy garments, and deck thee high-places with divers colors, and play the harlot thereupon: never should the like come to pass, and never should it be so.
Khukbuennawk to na lak moe, hmuensangnawk to rong congca hoiah na pathoep, to ahmuen ah kaom vai ai hmuen, hmabang ah doeh kaom han ai ih hmuen, zaehaih to tamquta hoiah na sak.
17 And thou didst take thy elegant ornaments of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and make for thyself male images, and play the harlot with them;
Kang paek ih khukbuen kahoih, sui hoi sumkanglung to na sinh moe, nangmah hanah nongpa ih krang to na sak pacoengah, to krangnawk to na zae haih.
18 And thou didst take thy broidered garments, and cover them: and my oil and my incense didst thou place before them.
Aem kaom khukbuen to na lak moe, nihcae to na khuk; kai ih situi hoi hmuihoih to na lak moe, nihcae hmaa ah na tathlang pae.
19 And my bread which I had given thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, which I had let thee eat, even this didst thou set before them for a sweet savour: yes, so was it, saith the Lord Eternal.
Kang paek moe, kang pacah ih takaw kahoih, situi hoi khoitui doeh nihcae hmaa ah hmuihoih ah na tathlang pae; to tiah oh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
20 And thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hadst born unto me, and didst slaughter these unto them to be devoured; [but] were thy acts of lewdness not yet enough?
To khue ai vop kai hoiah sak ih, na capa hoi na canunawk to na lak moe, krangnawk mah caak hanah angbawnhaih ah na paek. Hae tiah tangzat na zawhhaih loe hmuen tetta ah maw oh?
21 That thou didst slay my children, and give them up to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
Ka caanawk to na hum moe, krangnawk khaeah hmai angbawnhaih sak hanah na paek.
22 And in all thy abominations and thy acts of lewdness thou didst not remember the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, when thou wast stained with thy blood.
Nawkta nathuem ah loe khukbuen tawn ai bangkrai ah na oh, athii ahnai hoi khosakhaih to na poek ai ah, panuet thok hmuennawk hoi tangzat zawhhaih to na sak.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, —[woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord Eternal; ]—
Nang loe khosak bing! Khosak bing! tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih, na poeksethaih hmuennawk boih pacoengah,
24 That thou didst build unto thyself eminences, and make thyself elevations in every street.
nang mah hanah tangzat zawhhaih im to na sak moe, loklam kruekah hmuensang to na sak.
25 On the corner of every road didst thou build thy elevations, and make thy beauty abominable, and spread out thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiply thy acts of lewdness.
Lamkrung boih ah hmuensang to na sak, na kranghoihaih to panuet thok ah na sak; kholong caeh kaminawk boih khaeah na phaih to na takaat moe, tamquta hoi zae sakhaih to na pungsak.
26 And thou didst play the harlot with the Egyptians, thy neighbors, with large limbs, and multiply thy acts of lewdness, to provoke me to anger.
Long taksa bangah kalen, na taengah kaom Izip kaminawk khaeah doeh tangzat to na zawh, kai palungphuisak hanah tangzat zawhhaih na pungsak.
27 And, behold, I stretched out my hand over thee, and diminished thy stated portion; and I gave thee up unto the will of those that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, who were made to blush for thy incestuous course.
To pongah khenah, na nuiah misa angcoenghaih ban ka phok moe, na caak ih hmuen to kang pakha pae moe, nang hnuma kami, taksa koehhaih bangah azat panoek thai ai Philistin canunawk khaeah kang paek han.
28 Then didst thou play the harlot with the sons of Asshur, because thou wast unsatiable: yea, thou didst play the harlot with them, and wast even then not satisfied.
Na taksa koehhaih bangah palung khuek tih ai vop pongah, Assyria kaminawk khaeah doeh tangzat na zawh bae vop, ue, nihcae hoi doeh zaehaih to na sak, toe palung khuek na tih ai.
29 And thou didst multiply thy lewdness with the traders' land as far as Chaldea; and even with this wast thou not satisfied.
To pacoengah na taksa koehhaih to sang aep aep pongah, Kanaan hoi Khaldian prae karoek to tangzat na zawh; toe palung khuek na tih ai vop.
30 How very corrupt is thy heart, saith the Lord Eternal, seeing thou didst all these things, deeds of an abandoned lewd woman;
Tuinuen kasae tangzat zaw nongpata mah sak ih hae hmuennawk hae na sak boih pongah, na palung kawkruk maw thazok boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih;
31 Seeing that thou didst build thy eminences at the corner of every road, and make thy elevations in every street; and wast not like a harlot, as thou scornedst the wages.
loklam kruekah tangzat zawhhaih im to na sak, lamkrung kruekah hmuensang to na sak; atho na la ai pongah, tangzat zaw kami hoi nang hmong ai;
32 O thou adulterous wife! who, while bound to her husband, receiveth strangers!
toe nang loe a sava nuiah zaehaih sak koeh imthong krah nongpata baktiah ni na oh, to nongpata loe a sava pongah minawk kalah nongpa to koeh kue.
33 Unto all harlots they give presents; but thou hast given thy presents to all thy lovers, and hast bribed them, that they might come unto thee from every side in thy acts of lewdness.
Tangzat zaw kaminawk loe atho hnuk o, toe nang loe na koeh ih kaminawk boih hanah tangqum ah nang paek lat, ahmuen kruek ih kaminawk to angzoh o, zaehaih sak hanah nihcae to na kawk.
34 And the reverse was the case with thee from [other] women in thy acts of lewdness, that men did not follow thee to seek thy lewd caresses; and because thou gavest the wages, and no wages were given thee: so was it the reverse with thee.
35 Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord!
To pongah, Aw tangzat zaw kami, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai ah!
36 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Whereas thy wealth was squandered, and thy nakedness was uncovered through thy lewd acts with thy lovers, and with all thy abominable idols, and for the blood of thy children, whom thou didst give unto them:
Angraeng Sithaw mah, Panuet thok hmuen to sak hanah na koeh ih kaminawk, panuet thok krangnawk hoiah zaehaih na sak pongah, bangkrai ah na ohhaih to nam tuengsak boeh, nihcae han na paek ih na caanawk ih athii pongah,
37 Therefore, behold, I will gather all thy lovers, whom thou hast given pleasure, and all whom thou hast loved, together with all whom thou hast hated, —yea, I will gather them all round about thee, and will uncover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
khenah, kanawm na caenghaih, na palung duek ih kaminawk hoi nang hnuma kaminawk to nawnto ka pakueng boih han; na misa ah angcoengsak hanah na taeng ih kaminawk to ka tacuu boih han, nihcae mah hnuk o hanah na khukbuen to kang khringh pae han, to naah nihcae mah bangkrai ah na ohhaih to hnu o tih, tiah thuih.
38 And I will judge thee, as adulteresses and women that shed blood are judged; and I will bring upon thee the blood of fury and jealousy.
Sava nuiah zaehaih sak moe, athii longsak nongpata baktiah lok kang caek han; uthaih hoi palungphui athii longhaih atho to kang paek han.
39 And I will also give thee up into their hand, and they shall pull down thy eminences, and shall break down thy elevations; and they shall strip thee of thy clothes, and they shall take thy elegant ornaments, and leave thee naked and bare.
To pacoengah nihcae ban ah kang paek han, to naah nihcae mah tangzat na zawhhaih im to na va pae o phaeng ueloe, na hmuensang to na phrae pae o boih tih; khukbuennawk na khring pae o ueloe, atho kana bungmunawk ang lomh pae o pacoengah, nang to tidoeh tawn ai bangkrai ah na prawt o sut tih.
40 And they shall bring up against thee an assembly, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords;
Nang tuk hanah pop parai kami angzo o haih ueloe, nang to thlung hoi ang vah o pacoengah, sumsen hoiah na thun o tih.
41 And they shall burn thy houses with fire, and execute punishments on thee before the eyes of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from being a harlot, and also the wages [of sin] shalt thou not give any more.
Na imnawk to hmai hoiah thlaek o ueloe, pop parai nongpatanawk mikhnuk ah lok na caek o tih; to naah tangzat na zawh let han ai ah kang sak han, to naah loe nang mah minawk kalah na tlai mak ai boeh.
42 And then will I assuage my fury on thee, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
To naah loe na nuiah palung ka phuihaih to dii tih boeh; uthaih hoi palung ka phuihaih na nuiah ka suem mak ai boeh; palung ka phui mak ai, kang hngai duem han boeh.
43 Because that thou didst not remember the days of thy youth, but didst irritate me with all these things: behold, therefore I also will bring thy course upon thy head, saith the Lord Eternal, and thou shalt no more commit incest with all thy [other] abominations.
Nawkta nathuem ih aninawk to pahnet moe, hae baktih hmuennawk hoi palung nang phui o sak pongah, khenah, na toksakhaih baktih toengah na lu nuiah ka kraksak han, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih; hae panuet thok hmuennawk boih nuiah kahoih ai zaehaih na sak aep han om ai.
44 Behold, every one that speaketh in proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As the mother is, so is her daughter.
Khenah, palungha lok thui kaminawk boih mah, nang pongah a canu loe amno baktiah oh, tiah hae palungha lok hae thui o tih.
45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, loathing her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, who have loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Emorite.
Nang loe a sava hoi a caanawk panuet nam no ih canu ah na oh; a sava hoi a caanawk panuet, nongpata ih amnawk nongpata ah na oh; nam no loe Hit tanu ah oh moe, nam pa loe Amor acaeng ah oh.
46 And thy elder sister is Samaria, she with her daughters, that dwelleth at thy left hand, and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom with her daughters.
Nam ya nongpata kacoeh loe Samaria kami ah oh, anih hoi a canunawk loe na ohhaih bangqoi bangah oh o; na bantang bangah kaom nam nawk nongpata hoi a canunawk loe Sodom to ni.
47 Yet not even in their ways didst thou walk, nor act according to their abominations: as though this were quite too little, and thou wast more corrupt than they in all thy ways.
48 As I live, saith the Lord Eternal, Sodom thy sister, she with her daughters, hath not done as thou hast done, thou with thy daughters.
Kai ka hing baktiah, nam nawk nongpata Sodom hoi a canunawk loe, nang mah na canunawk hoi nawnto sak ih hmuen baktiah sah o ai vop.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: Pride, abundance of food, and prosperous security were hers and her daughters'; but the hand of the poor and needy did she not strengthen.
Khenah, nam nawk nongpata Sodom zaehaih loe hae tiah oh, anih hoi a canunawk loe amoek o, kamtlai hmoek ah a caak o moe, khosak nawmhaih hoiah a oh o; amtang kaminawk hoi kavawt kaminawk to khenzawn o ai.
50 And they became haughty, and committed abominations before me: therefore did I remove them when I saw their course.
Nihcae loe poeksang o moe, ka hmaa ah panuet thok hmuen to sak o; to pongah na hnuk ih baktih toengah nihcae to kam rosak boeh.
51 And Samaria hath not committed even the half of thy sins; but thou didst multiply thy abominations more than they; and thou hast justified thy sisters through all thy abominations which thou hast done.
Samaria loe na sak ih zaehaih ahap mataeng doeh sah ai; toe nang loe Sodom hoi Samaria hnik pong alet ah panuet thok zaehaih to na sak, nam nawk nongpata hnik mah sak ih zaehaih loe na sak ih panuet thok zaehaihnawk mah khuk khoep pongah amtueng ai boeh.
52 Bear then thou also thy own confusion, which thou didst adjudge unto each of thy sisters; through thy sins, which thou hast committed more abominably than they, are they made more righteous than thou: therefore thou also—be ashamed, and bear thy confusion, since thou hast justified thy sisters.
Nam nawk nongpata hnik to lok na caek baktih toengah, na sak ih panuet thok zaehaihnawk loe nihnik mah sak ih zaehaih pong nung kue pongah, azathaih to phaw ah; nihnik loe nang pongah toeng hoi kue; ue, nam nawk nongpata hnik mah sak ih zaehaihnawk amtueng ai karoek to zaehaih na sak pongah, palung boenghaih hoiah azathaih to na phawh han oh.
53 And I will bring back again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of the captives in the midst of them:
Toe tamna ah naeh ih Sodom hoi a canunawk, Samaria hoi a canunawk to ka hoih naah, na tamnawk to nihcae hoi nawnto ka hoih let han:
54 In order that thou mayest bear thy confusion, and mayest be confounded because of all that thou hast done, when thou art a comfort unto them.
to naah nihcae to na mongsak ueloe, na sak ih hmuennawk boih ah palung boenghaih hoi azathaih to na tong tih.
55 And thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, and thou and thy daughters shall return to your former state.
Angmacae ohhaih ahmuen ah, nam nawk nongpata Sodom hoi a canunawk, Samaria hoi a canunawk amlaem o let naah, nang doeh na canunawk hoi na ohhaih ahmuen ah nam laem let tih.
56 And was not thy sister Sodom a report in thy mouth in the days of thy pride,
Jerusalem, nang loe amoek moe, nam nawk Sodom hnaphnaehaih lok to na thuih.
57 Before yet thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all those round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, who taunted thee on all sides?
58 Thy incest and thy abominations, —thou thyself hadst to bear them, saith the Lord.
Vaihi na zaehaih hoi na sak ih panuet thok hmuennawk pongah, tha na zok tih boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
59 For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, thou who hast despised the oath by breaking the covenant.
Angraeng Sithaw mah, Lokkamhaih to nang phat taak pongah, na sak ih hmuen hoi kating ah kang pathok han.
60 Nevertheless will I indeed remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
Toe na nawkta nathuem ah nang hoi sak ih lokmaihaih to ka poek moe, nang khaeah dungzan lokmaihaih ka sak han.
61 And thou shalt then remember thy ways, and be confounded, when thou receivest thy sisters, both those that are older than thou and younger than thou: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, though not because thou wast faithful to the covenant.
To naah na caehhaih loklam to na panoek tih, nam nawk hoi nam ya nongpata kacoeh to na hnuk naah, azathaih na tong tih; na sak ih lokmaihaih thungah athum ai, toe nihnik to na canu ah kang paek han.
62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord:
Nang hoi lokmaihaih ka sak han, to naah Kai loe Angraeng ni, tiah na panoek tih.
63 In order that thou mayest remember, and feel ashamed, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy confusion, when I forgive thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord Eternal.
Na sak ih hmuennawk boih pongah palung ka phuihaih dip naah loe, kho na poek vawk ueloe, mikhmai na sae tih, azat loiah pakha na ang let mak ai boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
