Ezekiel 13
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto those that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of the Lord:
Fils de l'homme, prophétise contre les prophètes d'Israël, prophétise et dis-leur: Écoutez la parole du Seigneur.
3 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Woe unto the scandalous prophets, that follow their own spirit, without having seen any thing!
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Malheur à ceux qui prophétisent d'après leur cœur, et ne considèrent aucune chose!
4 Like foxes among the ruins have been thy prophets, O Israel!
Israël, tes prophètes sont comme des renards dans le désert,
5 Ye did not go up into the breaches, nor did ye make a fence around the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the Lord.
Ils ne s'appuient sur rien, et ils ont rassemblé de menus troupeaux contre la maison d'Israël. Ils ne se sont pas levés, le jour du Seigneur, ceux qui parlent,
6 They saw falsehood and lying divination, they who say, “The Lord saith,” when the Lord had not sent them; and yet they made others hope for the fulfillment of the word.
Ayant des visions fausses, prédisant des choses vaines, disant: Le Seigneur dit; mais le Seigneur ne les a pas envoyés, et ils ont pris sur eux de confirmer leur propre parole.
7 Had ye not seen a false vision, and had ye not said a lying divination? and ye say, “The Lord saith,” when I have not spoken.
N'avez-vous pas eu de fausses visions? n'avez-vous point prédit des choses vaines?
8 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Whereas ye have spoken falsehood, and have seen lies: therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord Eternal.
À cause de cela, dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: En punition de ce que vos paroles sont fausses, et vos prédictions vaines, voilà que je suis contre vous, dit le Seigneur.
9 And my hand shall be against the prophets that see false-hood, and that divine lies; in the secret council of my people shall they not be, and in the register of the house of Israel shall they not be written, and into the land of Israel shall they not come: and ye shall know that I am the Lord Eternal.
Et j'étendrai la main sur les prophètes qui ont des visions fausses, et qui disent des choses vaines; ils ne seront pas pour l'instruction de mon peuple; ils ne seront pas inscrits parmi la maison d'Israël; ils n'entreront pas dans l'héritage d'Israël, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur,
10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, “Peace,” when there was no peace: and [my people] build a protecting wall, and lo, they plaster it with unadhesive mortar.
En punition de ce qu'ils ont égaré mon peuple, disant: La paix, quand il n'y a point de paix: mon peuple bâtit un mur, ils le crépissent, et le mur tombera.
11 Say unto those who plaster it with unadhesive mortar, that it shall fall: there cometh an overflowing rain-shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a storm-wind shall rend it.
Dis à ceux qui le crépissent: Le mur tombera; aura de la pluie pour le faire crouler. Je lancerai des pierres sur ses jointures, et elles tomberont; et sur lui, un grand vent, et il se fendra.
12 And, lo, the wall is fallen down; will it not now be said unto you, Where is the plastering wherewith ye have plastered?
Et voilà que le mur est tombé, et ils ne diront pas: Où est le plâtre avec lequel nous l'avons crépi?
13 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will even rend it with storm-winds in my fury; and an overflowing rain-shower shall come in my anger, with great hailstones in my fury to destroy it.
À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Je ferai éclater un souffle qui détruira avec fureur, et il y aura en ma colère une pluie qui débordera; et je lancerai en mon courroux des pierres qui détruiront jusqu'à l'anéantissement;
14 And I will pull down the wall that ye have plastered with unadhesive mortar, and I will cast it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be laid open; and it shall fall, and ye shall be destroyed in the midst of it: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Et j'abattrai le mur que vous avez crépi, et il tombera; et je le coucherai sur la terre, et ses fondations seront à découvert, et il tombera; et vous périrez au milieu d'outrages, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
15 Thus will I let out all my wrath upon the wall, and upon those that have plastered it with unadhesive mortar; and I will say unto you, Gone is the wall, and gone are they that plastered it;
Et j'assouvirai ma colère sur le mur, et sur ceux qui l'ont crépi; il tombera. Et comme je vous l'ai dit: Le mur n'est plus, ni ceux qui l'ont crépi.
16 [Namely, ] the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see for her a vision of peace, when there is no peace, saith the Lord Eternal.
C'étaient les prophètes d'Israël qui prophétisaient pour Jérusalem, et qui en leurs. visions voyaient pour elle la paix, quand il n'y a point de paix, dit le Seigneur.
17 But, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart: and prophesy against them,
Et toi, fils de l'homme, tourne la face contre les filles de ton peuple, contre celles qui prophétisent d'après leur cœur, et qui prophétisent contre elles-mêmes.
18 And say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Woe to the women that sew bolsters together for the armpits of all, and make cushions for the head of every stature, to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, that ye may keep your own soul alive?
Et dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Malheur à celles qui cousent des coussins pour les mettre sous les deux coudes, et qui en font des oreillers pour toute tête de tout âge, afin de pervertir les âmes. Les âmes de mon peuple ont été perverties, et ces femmes conservaient ces âmes;
19 And ye profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for bits of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to keep alive the souls that should not live, by your lying to my people that listen to lies!
Et elles m'ont profané devant mon peuple pour une poignée d'orge et pour un morceau de pain, afin de tuer des âmes qui ne devaient point mourir, et conserver la vie à des âmes qui ne devaient point vivre; c'est pour cela, ô filles, que vous avez prononcé devant mon peuple qui vous écoutait des prédictions vaines.
20 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I am against your bolsters, whereon ye hunt the souls that they may flutter [in your net], and I will tear them away from your arms; and I will let the souls go free, even the souls that ye hunt that they may flutter [in your net.]
À cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur maître: Voilà que je suis contre ces coussins sur lesquels vous ramassez les âmes; je les mettrai en pièces sous vos bras, et je disperserai les âmes que vous avez perverties.
21 And I will tear away your cushions, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Et je déchirerai vos oreillers, et je délivrerai mon peuple de vos mains, et ils ne seront plus ramassés par vous; et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
22 Because ye grieve the heart of the righteous with falsehood, when I have not given him pain; and strengthen the hands of the wicked, so that he should not return from his wicked way, through which he might live.
En punition de ce que vous pervertissez le cœur du juste que je n'avais point perverti, de ce que vous avez fortifié les mains du méchant pour qu'il fût entièrement incapable de revenir de sa voie mauvaise et de vivre;
23 Therefore shall ye see no more falsehood, and tell no more divinations; and I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
À cause de cela vous n'aurez plus vos visions fausses; vous ne prophétiserez plus vos mensonges, et je délivrerai mon peuple de vos mains; et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
