Ezekiel 11
1 And a spirit bore me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the house of the Lord, which looketh eastward: and behold, there were at the entrance of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Yaazanyah the son of 'Azzur, and Pelatyahu the son of Benayahu, princes of the people.
Et l'esprit me ravit, et il me conduisit sur la porte de la façade du temple du Seigneur, celle qui regarde l'Orient. Et voilà qu'il y avait sur le portique environ vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis au milieu d'eux Jéchonias, fils d'Ezer, et Phaltias, fils de Banaias, princes du peuple.
2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise wickedness, and give evil counsel in this city;
Et le Seigneur me dit: Fils de l'homme, voici des hommes qui conçoivent des vanités, et tiennent de mauvais conseils en cette ville,
3 Who say, [The evil] is not near; so let us build houses: this [city] is the pot, and we are the flesh.
Disant: Est-ce que ce temple a été bâti récemment? Il est chaudière, et la chair, c'est nous.
4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.
À cause de cela, prophétise contre eux, prophétise, fils de l'homme.
5 And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus hath said the Lord, Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and whatever cometh into your mind, do I know full well.
Et sur moi l'esprit du Seigneur tomba, et il me dit: Parle, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: C'est ainsi que vous parlez, maison d'Israël; les conseils téméraires de votre esprit, je les connais.
6 Ye have multiplied those slain by you in this city, and ye have filled its streets with the slain.
Vous avez multiplié vos meurtres en cette ville, et vous avez rempli ses rues de cadavres.
7 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Those slain by you whom ye have struck down in the midst of it, —they are the flesh, and this place is the pot; but you are to be removed out of the midst of it.
À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Les morts que vous avez frappés au milieu de cette ville, sont les chairs, cette ville est la chaudière, et vous, je vous chasserai du milieu de cette ville.
8 The sword have ye feared: and the sword will I bring over you, saith the Lord Eternal.
Vous avez peur du glaive, et c'est le glaive que j'amènerai sur vous, dit le Seigneur.
9 And I will remove you out of the midst of it, and I will give you up into the hand of strangers, and will execute punishments among you.
Et je vous chasserai du milieu de cette ville, et je vous livrerai à des étrangers, et j'exécuterai mes jugements sur vous.
10 By the sword shall ye fall; on the boundary of Israel will I judge you: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Vous tomberez sous le glaive; je vous jugerai sur les montagnes d'Israël, et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis le Seigneur.
11 This place shall not be unto you as a pot, so that you should be as flesh in the midst of it; but on the boundary of Israel will I judge you.
[La ville] ne sera pas pour vous comme une chaudière, au milieu de laquelle vous seriez la viande. Je vous jugerai sur les limites d'Israël.
12 And ye shall know that I am the Lord: because in my statutes have ye not walked, and my ordinances have ye not executed; but ye have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.
Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
13 And it came to pass, as I was prophesying, that Pelatyahu the son of Benayah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Eternal! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?
Et ceci advint: pendant que je prophétisais, Phaltias, fils de Banaias, mourut, et je tombai la face contre terre, et je criai à haute voix, et je dis: Hélas! hélas! Seigneur, allez-vous détruire les restes d'Israël?
14 Then came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and the whole house of Israel altogether, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Remain you far from the Lord: unto us is this land given for a possession.
Fils de l'homme, les frères, et les hommes avec toi captifs, et toute la maison d'Israël, ce sont tous ceux à qui les habitants de Jérusalem ont dit: Retirez-vous loin du Seigneur; c'est à nous que cette terre a été donnée pour héritage.
16 Therefore say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Although I have removed them far away among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries: yet will I be to them as a minor sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.
À cause de cela, dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Je les chasserai parmi les nations; je les disperserai en toute terre, et je serai pour eux comme un petit sanctuaire, en toutes les contrées où ils iront résider.
17 Therefore say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will both gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries whether ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
À cause de cela, dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Je les recueillerai parmi les nations; je les rassemblerai des contrées où je les aurai dispersés, et je leur donnerai la terre d'Israël.
18 And they shall come thither, and they shall remove all its detestable things, and all its abominations out of it.
Et ils y rentreront, et ils en déracineront toutes les abominations et toutes les iniquités.
19 And I will give them one single heart, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will remove the heart of stone out of their body, and I will give unto them a heart of flesh:
Et je leur donnerai un autre cœur, et je mettrai en eux un esprit nouveau, et je retirerai de leur chair le cœur de pierre, et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair;
20 In order that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them; and they shall be unto me for a people, and I will indeed be unto them for a God.
Afin qu'ils marchent en mes commandements, et qu'ils gardent mes ordonnances et les accomplissent; et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu.
21 But as for those whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, their way do I bring upon their own head, saith the Lord Eternal.
Pour ceux dont le cœur a cheminé, comme leur cœur, en des abominations et des iniquités, je ferai retomber leurs voies sur leurs têtes, dit le Seigneur.
22 Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels at the same time with them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
Et les chérubins déployèrent leurs ailes, et ils s'élevèrent ayant à côté d'eux les roues, et au-dessus d'eux la gloire du Dieu d'Israël.
23 And the glory of the Lord ascended from the midst of the city, and halted upon the mount which is on the east side of the city.
Et la gloire du Seigneur monta du milieu de la ville, et elle s'arrêta en face de la ville sur les montagnes
24 But a spirit bore me up, and brought me into Chaldea, to those in exile, in the appearance through the spirit of God: and then ascended away from me the appearance which I had seen.
Et l'esprit me ravit; et en ma vision venant de l'Esprit de Dieu il me ramena sur la terre des Chaldéens, parmi les captifs. Et je descendis de la vision que j'avais eue.
25 Then did I speak unto those in exile all the things that the Lord had shown me.
Et je répétai aux captifs toutes les paroles que Dieu m'avait révélées.
