Exodus 1
1 Now these are the names of the children of Israel, that came into Egypt with Jacob, every man and his household they came.
၁အီဂျစ်ပြည်သို့ယာကုပ်နှင့်အတူ သွားရောက်ကြသောယာကုပ်၏သားများမှာ၊-
2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,
၂ရုဗင်၊ ရှိမောင်၊ လေဝိ၊ ယုဒ၊-
3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,
၃ဣသခါ၊ ဇာဗုလုန်၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်၊ ဒန်၊ နဿလိ၊ ဂဒ်၊ အာရှာတို့ဖြစ်ကြ၏။ သူတို့၏မိသားစုများလည်းလိုက်ပါသွားကြ၏။-
4 Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
၄
5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls; together with Joseph who was already in Egypt.
၅ဤသူတို့သည်ယာကုပ်မှတိုက်ရိုက်ဆင်းသက်၍ ဦးရေအားဖြင့်စုစုပေါင်းခုနစ်ဆယ်ရှိသတည်း။ ယောသပ်သည်အီဂျစ်ပြည်သို့ရောက်နှင့်ပြီးဖြစ်၏။-
6 And Joseph died, and all his brothers, and all that generation.
၆အချိန်တန်သော်ယောသပ်နှင့်သူ၏ညီအစ်ကိုများနှင့်တကွ သူတို့၏ခေတ်ကဆွေမျိုးသားချင်းအပေါင်းတို့သည်ကွယ်လွန်ကြကုန်၏။-
7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.
၇သို့ရာတွင်ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည်သားသမီးမြောက်မြားစွာမွေးဖွား၍ အလွန်တိုးပွားများပြားလာသဖြင့်၊ တစ်တိုင်းတစ်ပြည်လုံးတွင်အနှံ့အပြားနေထိုင်ကြလေသည်။
8 Now there rose up a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph.
၈ထိုနောက်အီဂျစ်ပြည်တွင် ယောသပ်အကြောင်းကိုလုံးဝမကြားဘူးသောဘုရင်တစ်ပါးနန်းတက်လာလေ၏။-
9 And he said unto his people: Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more numerous and mightier than we.
၉ထိုဘုရင်ကသူ၏ပြည်သားတို့အား``ဤဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် လူဦးရေအလွန်များပြား၍အင်အားကြီးမားလာသဖြင့် ငါတို့အားအန္တရာယ်ပြုနိုင်၏။-
10 Come, let us deal wisely with them lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there happen to be a war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and depart out of the land.
၁၀သူတို့၏လူဦးရေယခုထက်မတိုးပွားလာစေရန် လိမ္မာစွာငါတို့ပြုရကြမည်။ အကယ်၍စစ်မက်ဖြစ်ပွားလာလျှင် သူတို့သည်ငါတို့၏တစ်ဘက်ရန်သူနှင့်ပူးပေါင်း၍ငါတို့ကိုတိုက်ခိုက်ပြီးလျှင် တိုင်းပြည်မှထွက်ပြေးကြလိမ့်မည်'' ဟုမိန့်ကြားလေ၏။-
11 And they set over taskmasters, to afflict them with their burdensome labors; and they built treasure cities, for Pharaoh, Pithom and Raamses.
၁၁သို့ဖြစ်၍အီဂျစ်အမျိုးသားတို့သည်ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့အပေါ်တွင် အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးအရာရှိချုပ်များကိုခန့်ထား၍ စိတ်ဋ္ဌာတ်ကိုချိုးနှိမ်ရန်အလုပ်ကြမ်းကိုအတင်းအကြပ်ခိုင်းကြ၏။ ဤနည်းအားဖြင့်ဖာရောဘုရင်၏ရိက္ခာသိုလှောင်ရာ ပိသုံမြို့နှင့်ရာမသက်မြို့တို့ကိုဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့အားတည်ဆောက်စေ၏။-
12 But in the measure that they afflicted them, so they multiplied and so they spread out; and they felt abhorrence because of the children of Israel.
၁၂သို့သော်လည်းအီဂျစ်ပြည်သားတို့က ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့ကိုနှိပ်စက်ညှဉ်းဆဲလေ၊ သူတို့၏လူဦးရေတိုးပွားပျံ့နှံ့လာလေဖြစ်၏။ အီဂျစ်ပြည်သားတို့သည်ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့ကိုကြောက်ရွံ့လာကြ၏။-
13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to labor with rigor:
၁၃ထို့ကြောင့် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့အား ကျွန်အဖြစ်အတင်းအကြပ်စေခိုင်း၍ညှဉ်းဆဲကြ၏။
14 And they made their lives bitter with hard labor, in mortar, and in bricks, and in all manner of labor in the field; in all their service, wherein they made them labor with rigor.
၁၄ဆောက်လုပ်ရေး၌လည်းကောင်း၊ လယ်ယာလုပ်ငန်း၌လည်းကောင်း မညှာမတာဘဲပင်ပန်းကြီးစွာလုပ်ဆောင်စေကြ၏။
15 And the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah;
၁၅အီဂျစ်ဘုရင်က ရှိဖရနှင့်ပုအာနာမည်ရှိသောဟေဗြဲဝမ်းဆွဲနှစ်ဦးတို့အား၊-
16 And he said: When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, ye shall look upon the birth; if it be a son, then shall ye kill him; but if it be a daughter, then may she live.
၁၆``ဟေဗြဲအမျိုးသမီးတို့ကိုသားဖွားပေးရသည့်အခါ ယောကျာ်းကလေးဖြစ်လျှင်သတ်ပစ်လော့။ မိန်းကလေးဖြစ်လျှင်အသက်ချမ်းသာခွင့်ပေးလော့။'' ဟုအမိန့်ပေးလေ၏။-
17 But the midwives feared God, and they did not as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but saved the men-children alive.
၁၇သို့ရာတွင်ဝမ်းဆွဲအမျိုးသမီးတို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရားကိုကြောက်ရွံ့သူများဖြစ်သောကြောင့် ဘုရင်၏အမိန့်ကိုမနာခံဘဲယောကျာ်းကလေးများကိုအသက်ချမ်းသာစေကြ၏။-
18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and he said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men-children alive?
၁၈ထို့ကြောင့်ဘုရင်သည်ဝမ်းဆွဲတို့အားဆင့်ခေါ်လျက်``သင်တို့သည်ငါ၏အမိန့်ကိုမနာခံဘဲ အဘယ်ကြောင့်ယောကျာ်းကလေးများကိုအသက်ချမ်းသာစေရသနည်း'' ဟုမေးလေ၏။-
19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively; ere the midwife cometh in unto them they are delivered.
၁၉ထိုအခါဝမ်းဆွဲတို့က``ဟေဗြဲအမျိုးသမီးတို့သည် အီဂျစ်အမျိုးသမီးတို့နှင့်မတူပါ။ သူတို့သည်သားဖွားလွယ်ကြသဖြင့်ဝမ်းဆွဲမရောက်မီ ကလေးကိုဖွားနှင့်ပြီးဖြစ်ပါသည်'' ဟုလျှောက်ထားကြ၏။-
20 And God dealt well with the midwives; and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
၂၀ဝမ်းဆွဲတို့သည်ထာဝရဘုရားကိုကြောက်ရွံ့သူများဖြစ်သောကြောင့် ထာဝရဘုရားကသူတို့ကိုကျေးဇူးပြု၍ သူတို့၌အိမ်ထောင်မိသားစုများရှိစေတော်မူ၏။ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့၏ဦးရေသည်လည်းတိုးပွားများပြားလာ၏။-
21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
၂၂သို့ဖြစ်၍ဖာရောဘုရင်သည်``ဟေဗြဲအမျိုးသမီးတို့မှဖွားမြင်သော သားယောကျာ်းမှန်သမျှတို့ကိုနိုင်းမြစ်ထဲသို့ပစ်ချရမည်။ သမီးမိန်းကလေးများကိုမူအသက်ချမ်းသာပေးရမည်'' ဟုမိမိ၏ပြည်သူပြည်သားတို့အားအမိန့်ပေးလေ၏။
