Exodus 31
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
2 See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Chur, of the tribe of Judah:
Voici, j’ai appelé nommément Béséléel, fils d’Uri, fils de Hur de la tribu de Juda,
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
Et je l’ai rempli de l’esprit de Dieu, de sagesse, d’intelligence et de science pour toute sorte d’ouvrage,
4 To devise works of art, to work in gold, and in silver, and in copper,
Pour inventer tout ce qui peut se faire par l’art avec l’or, l’argent et l’airain,
5 And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in the carving of wood, to work in all manner of workmanship.
Avec du marbre, des pierres précieuses et divers bois.
6 And behold, I have also given with him Aholiab, the son of Achissamach, of the tribe of Dan, and in the heart of all that are wise-hearted have l put wisdom; and they shall make all that I have commanded thee;
Et je lui ai donné pour compagnon Ooliab, fils d’Achisamech de la tribu de Dan. Et dans le cœur de tout ouvrier habile j’ai mis de la sagesse, afin qu’ils fassent tout ce que je t’ai ordonné:
7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the cover that is thereupon, and all the vessels of the tabernacle;
Le tabernacle d’alliance, l’arche de témoignage, le propitiatoire qui est dessus, et tous les vases du tabernacle;
8 And the table and its vessels, and the pure candlestick with all its vessels, and the altar of incense;
La table et ses vases, le chandelier très pur avec ses vases, et les autels du parfum à brûler,
9 And the altar of burnt-offering with all its vessels, and the laver and its foot;
Et de l’holocauste et tous leurs vases, le bassin avec sa base;
10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister therein;
Les vêtements saints du ministère pour Aaron, le grand-prêtre et ses fils, afin qu’ils s’acquittent de leur office dans les choses sacrées;
11 And the anointing oil, and the incense of spices for the holy place: all as I have commanded thee shall they do.
L’huile de l’onction, le parfum à brûler composé d’aromates pour le sanctuaire: ainsi, ils feront tout ce que je t’ai ordonné.
12 And the Lord said unto Moses as followeth,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
13 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Above all, my sabbaths shall ye keep; for a sign it is between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord who doth sanctify you.
Parle aux enfants d’Israël, et tu leur diras: Ayez soin de garder mon sabbat, parce qu’il est un signe entre moi et vous en vos générations, afin que vous sachiez que c’est moi, le Seigneur, qui vous sanctifie.
14 And ye shall keep the sabbath, for it is holy unto you; every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work thereon, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Gardez mon sabbat, car il est saint pour vous: celui qui le profanera mourra de mort; celui qui travaillera en ce jour-là, son âme périra du milieu de son peuple.
15 Six days may work be done; but on the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath-day, shall surely be put to death.
Pendant six jours vous travaillerez, au septième jour c’est un sabbat, repos saint pour le Seigneur, quiconque travaillera en ce jour-là, mourra.
16 And the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Que les enfants d’Israël gardent le sabbat, et qu’ils le célèbrent en leurs générations. C’est un pacte éternel
17 Between me and the children of Israel it shall be a sign for ever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed:
Entre moi et les enfants d’Israël et un signe perpétuel; car c’est en six jours que le Seigneur a fait le ciel et la terre, et au septième il a cessé son œuvre.
18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had finished speaking with him upon mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, tables of stone, inscribed with the finger of God.
Or, le Seigneur ayant achevé les discours de cette sorte sur la montagne de Sinaï, donna à Moïse les deux tables de pierre du témoignage, écrites du doigt de Dieu.
