Exodus 30
1 And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon, of shittim wood shalt thou make it.
Tu feras un autel pour faire fumer l’encens, tu le feras de bois d’acacia;
2 A cubit shall be its length, and a cubit its breadth, foursquare shall it be; and two cubits shall be its height; from itself shall its horns be.
sa longueur sera d’une coudée, et sa largeur d’une coudée; il sera carré, et sa hauteur sera de deux coudées; ses cornes feront corps avec lui.
3 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, its top, and its sides round about, and its horns; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.
Tu le revêtiras d’or pur, le dessus, les côtés tout autour et les cornes, et tu y feras une guirlande d’or tout autour.
4 And two rings of gold shalt thou make for it beneath its crown, on its two corners shalt thou make them, upon both its sides; and they shall be as receptacles for the staves to bear it by means of them.
Tu feras pour lui deux anneaux d’or, au-dessous de la guirlande, sur ses deux arêtes: tu les feras aux deux côtés, pour recevoir les barres qui serviront à le porter.
5 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
Tu feras les barres de bois d’acacia, et tu les revêtiras d’or.
6 And thou shalt put it before the vail that is before the ark of the testimony, before the mercy-seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.
Tu placeras l’autel en face du voile qui est devant l’arche du témoignage, en face du propitiatoire qui est sur le témoignage, là où je me rencontrerai avec toi.
7 And Aaron shall burn thereon incense of spices; every morning when he dresseth the lamps, shall he burn it.
Aaron y fera fumer l’encens; il le fera fumer chaque matin, lorsqu’il préparera les lampes,
8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps toward evening, shall he burn it; a perpetual incense before the Lord, throughout your generations.
et il le fera fumer entre les deux soirs, lorsqu’Aaron mettra les lampes sur le chandelier. Encens perpétuel devant Yahweh, parmi vos descendants.
9 Ye shall not offer thereon any strange incense, or burnt-sacrifice, or meat-offering; and a drink-offering shall ye not pour thereon.
Vous n’offrirez sur l’autel ni parfum profane, ni holocauste, ni offrande, et vous n’y répandrez pas de libation.
10 And Aaron shall make an atonement upon its horns once in a year; with the blood of the sin-offering of the day of atonement, once in the year, shall he make atonement upon it, throughout your generations; it is most holy unto the Lord.
Aaron fera l’expiation sur les cornes de l’autel une fois chaque année; avec le sang de la victime expiatoire, il y fera l’expiation une fois l’an parmi vos descendants. Cet autel sera très saint à Yahweh. »
11 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel of those who are to be numbered of them, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the Lord, when they number them; that there be no plague among them, when they number them.
« Quand tu compteras les enfants d’Israël pour en faire le recensement, ils donneront chacun à Yahweh une rançon pour leur âme, lorsqu’on les recensera, afin qu’ils ne soient frappés d’aucun fléau lors de leur recensement.
13 This shall they give, every one that passeth among those that are numbered, Half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary; twenty gerahs to the shekel; the half of the shekel shall be the tribute to the Lord.
Voici ce que donneront tous ceux qui seront compris dans le dénombrement: un demi-sicle, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, qui est de vingt guéras; un demi-sicle sera le don levé pour Yahweh.
14 Every one that passeth among those that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give the tribute unto the Lord.
Tout homme compris dans le dénombrement, depuis l’âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, acquittera la contribution de Yahweh.
15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than the half of a shekel, as a tribute unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.
Le riche ne paiera pas plus, et le pauvre ne paiera pas moins d’un demi-sicle, pour acquitter la contribution de Yahweh, comme rançon de vos âmes.
16 And thou shalt take the money of the atonement from the children of Israel, and shalt employ it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and it shall be unto the children of Israel as a memorial before the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.
Tu recevras des enfants d’Israël l’argent de la rançon, et tu l’appliqueras au service de la tente de réunion; il sera pour les enfants d’Israël un titre devant Yahweh pour la rançon de leurs âmes. »
17 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Yahweh parla à Moïse en disant:
18 Thou shalt also make a laver of copper, with its foot of copper, to wash withal: and thou shalt set it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put therein water.
« Tu feras une cuve d’airain, avec sa base d’airain, pour les ablutions; tu la placeras entre la tente de réunion et l’autel, et tu y mettras de l’eau,
19 And Aaron and his sons shall wash out of it their hands and their feet.
et Aaron et ses fils en prendront pour se laver les mains et les pieds.
20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, shall they wash themselves with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
Ils se laveront avec cette eau, afin qu’ils ne meurent point, et lorsqu’ils entreront dans la tente de réunion, et lorsqu’ils s’approcheront de l’autel pour faire le service, pour faire fumer un sacrifice à Yahweh.
21 And they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not; and it shall be to them a statute for ever, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.
Ils se laveront les pieds et les mains, et ils ne mourront pas. Ce sera une loi perpétuelle pour eux, pour Aaron et sa postérité d’âge en âge. »
22 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
23 And thou, take unto thyself principal spices: of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon, its half shall be two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,
« Prends, parmi les meilleurs aromates, cinq cents sicles de myrrhe vierge, la moitié, soit deux cent cinquante sicles, de cinname aromatique, deux cent cinquante sicles de canne odorante,
24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive-oil one hin.
cinq cents sicles de casse, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, et un hin d’huile d’olive.
25 And thou shalt make of it an oil of holy anointing, a mixture, compounded after the art of the apothecary: an oil of holy anointing shall it be.
Tu en feras une huile pour l’onction sainte, un parfum composé selon l’art du parfumeur: ce sera l’huile pour l’onction sainte.
26 And thou shalt anoint therewith the tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony,
Tu en oindras la tente de réunion et l’arche du témoignage,
27 And the table and all its vessels, and the candlestick and its vessels, and the altar of incense,
la table et tous ses ustensiles, le chandelier et ses ustensiles, l’autel des parfums,
28 And the altar of burnt-offering with all its vessels, and the laver and its foot.
l’autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, et la cuve avec sa base.
29 And thou shalt sanctify them, and they shall be most holy; whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.
Tu les consacreras, et ils seront très saints; tout ce qui les touchera sera saint.
30 And Aaron and his sons shalt thou anoint, and consecrate them to be priests unto me.
Tu oindras Aaron et ses fils, et tu les consacreras, pour qu’ils me servent comme prêtres.
31 And unto the children of Israel shalt thou speak, saying, An oil of holy anointing shall this be unto me throughout your generations.
Tu parleras aux enfants d’Israël, en disant: Ce sera l’huile d’onction sainte, pour moi d’âge en âge.
32 Upon the flesh of man shall it not be poured, and after its proportion shall ye not make any thing like it; it is holy, and holy shall it be unto you.
On n’en répandra pas sur le corps d’un homme, et vous n’en ferez pas une semblable, de même composition; c’est une chose sacrée, et vous la regarderez comme chose sacrée.
33 Whosoever compoundeth the like of it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall be cut off from his people.
Quiconque en composera de semblable, ou en mettra sur un étranger, sera retranché de son peuple. »
34 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take unto thee spices, balm, and onycha, and galbanum, spices, with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight.
Yahweh dit à Moïse: « Prends des aromates: résine, ongle odorant, galbanum; des aromates et de l’encens pur; ils seront en parties égales.
35 And thou shalt make it an incense, a mixture after the art of the apothecary, well mingled together, pure and holy.
Tu en feras un parfum pour l’encensement, composé selon l’art du parfumeur; il sera salé, pur et saint.
36 And thou shalt pour some of it fine, and offer of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee; most holy shall it be unto you.
Tu le réduiras en poudre, et tu en mettras devant le témoignage, dans la tente de réunion, où je me rencontrerai avec toi. Ce sera pour vous une chose très sainte.
37 And as for the incense which thou shalt make, according to its proportion, shall ye not make any unto yourselves: holy shall it be unto thee for the Lord.
Le parfum que tu feras, vous n’en ferez pas pour vous de même composition; tu le regarderas comme une chose sacrée pour Yahweh.
38 Whosoever shall make the like of it, to smell thereon, shall be cut off from his people.
Quiconque en fera de semblable, pour en respirer l’odeur, sera retranché de son peuple, »
