Exodus 24
1 And unto Moses he said, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and ye shall bow yourselves down afar off.
Ja hän sanoi Mosekselle: astu Herran tykö, sinä ja Aaron, Nadab ja Abihu, ja seitsemänkymmentä vanhinta Israelista: ja kumartakaat itsenne taampana.
2 And Moses alone shall come near unto the Lord, but they shall not come nigh; and the people shall not go up with him.
Mutta Moses lähestyköön yksinänsä Herran tykö, ja älkööt muut lähestykö: älköön myös kansa astuko ylös hänen kanssansa.
3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the laws of justice; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, all the words which the Lord hath spoken will we do.
Ja Moses tuli ja jutteli kansalle kaikki Herran sanat, ja oikeudet. Niin vastasi kaikki kansa yhdellä äänellä, ja sanoi: kaikki ne sanat, mitkä Herra puhunut on, tahdomme me tehdä.
4 And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord, and he rose up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mount, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
Niin kirjoitti Moses kaikki Herran sanat, ja nousi varhain aamulla, ja rakensi alttarin vuoren palttaan, kahdentoistakymmenen patsaan kanssa, kahdentoistakymmenen Israelin sukukunnan jälkeen.
5 And he then sent the young men of the children of Israel, and they offered burnt-offerings, and sacrificed peace-offerings unto the Lord, of oxen.
Ja lähetti sinne nuoria miehiä Israelin lapsista, jotka uhrasivat polttouhria, ja kiitosuhria Herralle, mulleista.
6 And Moses took the half of the blood, and put it in basins; and the [other] half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
Ja Moses otti puolen verestä ja pani maljoihin; mutta toisen puolen verestä priiskotti hän alttarille.
7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the hearing of the people; and they said, all that the Lord hath spoken will we do and obey.
Ja otti liitonkirjan, ja luki sen kansan korvain kuullen, ja he sanoivat: kaikki mitä Herra puhunut on tahdomme me tehdä ja olla hänelle kuuliaiset.
8 And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.
Niin Moses otti veren ja priiskotti kansan päälle, ja sanoi: katso, tämä on liiton veri, jonka Herra teki teidän kanssanne kaikkein näiden sanain päälle.
9 Then went up Moses, with Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel.
Niin astui Moses ja Aaron, Nadab ja Abihu ylös, ja seitsemänkymmentä Israelin vanhinta.
10 And they saw the God of Israel; and the place under his feet was like a paved work of brilliant sapphire, and like the color of heaven in clearness.
Ja näkivät Israelin Jumalan: hänen jalkainsa alla oli niinkuin teko saphirin kivestä, ja kuin itse taivas, koska seijes on;
11 And against the nobles of the children of Israel he stretched not forth his hand; and they saw [the glory of] God, and did eat and drink.
Eikä ojentanut kättänsä Israelin lasten päämiesten tykö: ja kuin he olivat nähneet Jumalan, niin he söivät ja joivat.
12 And the Lord said unto Moses, come up to me to the mount, and remain there: and I will give thee the tables of stone, with the law, and the commandment which I have written, to teach them.
Ja Herra sanoi Mosekselle: astu ylös minun tyköni vuorelle, ja ole siellä: ja minä annan sinulle kiviset taulut, ja lain, ja käskyt, jotka minä kirjoittanut olen, jotka sinun pitää heille opettaman.
13 And Moses rose up, and his servant Joshua; and Moses went up to the mount of God.
Silloin nousi Moses ja hänen palveliansa Josua: ja Moses astui ylös Jumalan vuorelle.
14 And unto the elders he said, Tarry ye for us here, until the time we come again unto you; and, behold, Aaron and Chur are with you, whoever may have any cause to be decided, let him come unto them.
Ja sanoi vanhimmille: olkaat tässä siihen asti, kuin me palajamme teidän tykönne: katso, Aaron ja Hur ovat teidän tykönänne: jolla joku asia on, se tulkaan heidän eteensä.
15 And Moses went up to the mount, and the cloud covered the mount.
Koska Moses tuli vuorelle, niin pilvi peitti vuoren,
16 And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and he called unto Moses on the seventh day out of the midst of the cloud.
Ja Herran kunnia asui Sinain vuorella, ja pilvi peitti sen kuusi päivää: ja hän kutsui Moseksen pilven keskeltä seitsemäntenä päivänä.
17 And the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mount, before the eyes of the children of Israel.
Ja Herran kunnia oli nähdä niinkuin kuluttavainen tuli, vuoren kukkulalla, Israelin lasten edessä.
18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and ascended the mount; and Moses was on the mount forty days and forty nights.
Ja Moses meni keskelle pilveä, ja astui ylös vuorelle: ja Moses oli vuorella neljäkymmentä päivää ja neljäkymmentä yötä.
