Exodus 19
1 In the third month, after the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ മൂന്നാം മാസത്തിൽ അതേദിവസം അവർ സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തി.
2 For they had departed from Rephidim, and they came to the desert of Sinai, and encamped in the wilderness; and Israel encamped there opposite the mount.
അവർ രെഫീദീമിൽനിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു, സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയിൽ വന്നു, മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി; അവിടെ പൎവ്വതത്തിന്നു എതിരെ യിസ്രായേൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.
3 And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord called unto him from the mount, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel.
മോശെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കയറിച്ചെന്നു; യഹോവ പൎവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു അവനോടു വിളിച്ചു കല്പിച്ചതു: നീ യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറകയും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
4 Ye have yourselves seen what I have done unto the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു ചെയ്തതും നിങ്ങളെ കഴുകന്മാരുടെ ചിറകിന്മേൽ വഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുത്തിയതും നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ.
5 Now therefore, if you will truly obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then shall ye be unto me a peculiar treasure above all nations; for all the earth is mine:
ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു അനുസരിക്കയും എന്റെ നിയമം പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു സകലജാതികളിലുംവെച്ചു പ്രത്യേക സമ്പത്തായിരിക്കും; ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.
6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation; these are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ഒരു പുരോഹിതരാജത്വവും വിശുദ്ധജനവും ആകും. ഇവ നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വചനങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു.
7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him.
മോശെ വന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു, യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച ഈ വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും അവരെ പറഞ്ഞു കേൾപ്പിച്ചു.
8 And all the people answered unanimously, and said, all that the Lord hath spoken will we do; and Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord.
യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യും എന്നു ജനം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. മോശെ ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
9 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, I will come unto thee in a thick cloud, for the sake that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and that also in thee they shall believe for ever; and Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord.
യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനം കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്നെ എന്നേക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാൻ ഇതാ, മേഘതമസ്സിൽ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു മോശെ യഹോവയോടു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.
യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: നീ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു ഇന്നും നാളെയും അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്ക;
11 And they shall be ready against the third day; for on the third day will the Lord come down, before the eyes of all the people, upon mount Sinai.
അവർ വസ്ത്രം അലക്കി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കട്ടെ; മൂന്നാം ദിവസം യഹോവ സകല ജനവും കാൺകെ സീനായിപൎവ്വത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങും.
12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people, round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, nor touch the border of it; whosoever toucheth the mount shall surely be put to death.
ജനം പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറാതെയും അതിന്റെ അടിവാരം തൊടാതെയും ഇരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നീ അവൎക്കായി ചുറ്റും അതിർ തിരിക്കേണം; പൎവ്വതം തൊടുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
13 Yet not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live; when the trumpet soundeth long, they may come up to the mount.
കൈ തൊടാതെ അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞോ എയ്തോ കൊന്നുകളയേണം; മൃഗമായാലും മനുഷ്യനായാലും ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുതു. കാഹളം ദീൎഘമായി ധ്വനിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ പൎവ്വതത്തിന്നു അടുത്തുവരട്ടെ.
14 And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people: and they washed their clothes.
മോശെ പൎവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ജനത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; അവർ വസ്ത്രം അലക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day; approach not unto a woman.
അവൻ ജനത്തോടു: മൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാൎയ്യമാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16 And it came to pass on the third day when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a heavy cloud was upon the mount, and the voice of the cornet was exceedingly loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled.
മൂന്നാം ദിവസം നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോൾ ഇടിമുഴക്കവും മിന്നലും പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ കാർമേഘവും മഹാഗംഭീരമായ കാഹളധ്വനിയും ഉണ്ടായി; പാളയത്തിലുള്ള ജനം ഒക്കെയും നടുങ്ങി.
17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they placed themselves at the foot of the mount.
ദൈവത്തെ എതിരേല്പാൻ മോശെ ജനത്തെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; അവർ പൎവ്വതത്തിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തു നിന്നു.
18 And mount Sinai smoked in every part, because the Lord had descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
യഹോവ തീയിൽ സീനായി പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങുകയാൽ അതു മുഴുവനും പുകകൊണ്ടു മൂടി; അതിന്റെ പുക തീച്ചൂളയിലെ പുകപോലെ പൊങ്ങി; പൎവ്വതം ഒക്കെയും ഏറ്റവും കുലുങ്ങി.
19 And the voice of the cornet went on, and waxed louder and louder; Moses spoke, and God answered him with a loud voice.
കാഹളധ്വനി ദീൎഘമായി ഉറച്ചുറച്ചു വന്നപ്പോൾ മോശെ സംസാരിച്ചു; ദൈവം ഉച്ചത്തിൽ അവനോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളി.
20 And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount; and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount, and Moses went up.
യഹോവ സീനായി പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ പൎവ്വതത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമുടിയിൽ ഇറങ്ങി; യഹോവ മോശെയെ പൎവ്വതത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമുടിയിലേക്കു വിളിച്ചു; മോശെ കയറിച്ചെന്നു.
21 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the Lord to gaze, and many of them might perish.
യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ: ജനം നോക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നുവന്നിട്ടു അവരിൽ പലരും നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ നീ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവരോടു അമൎച്ചയായി കല്പിക്ക.
22 And the priests also, who come near to the Lord, shall sanctify themselves; lest the Lord break forth among them.
യഹോവയോടു അടുക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും യഹോവ അവൎക്കു ഹാനി വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കട്ടെ.
23 And Moses said unto the Lord, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou hast charged us, saying, Set bounds about the mount and sanctify it.
മോശെ യഹോവയോടു: ജനത്തിന്നു സീനായിപൎവ്വത്തിൽ കയറുവാൻ പാടില്ല; പൎവ്വതത്തിന്നു അതിർ തിരിച്ചു അതിനെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുക എന്നു ഞങ്ങളോടു അമൎച്ചയായി കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
24 And the Lord said unto him, Go, get thee down, and then shalt thou come up, thou, and Aaron with thee; but the priests and the people shall not break through to come up unto the Lord, lest he break forth among them.
യഹോവ അവനോടു: ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോക; നീ അഹരോനുമായി കയറിവരിക; എന്നാൽ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനവും യഹോവ അവൎക്കു നാശം വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കയറുവാൻ അതിർ കടക്കരുതു.
25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spoke unto them.
അങ്ങനെ മോശെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
