Exodus 16
1 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
൧അവർ ഏലീമിൽനിന് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിനഞ്ചാം തീയതി അവരുടെ സംഘം പൂർണ്ണമായി ഏലീമിനും സീനായിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ഉള്ള സീൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വന്നു.
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
൨ആ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവച്ച് യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ സമൂഹം മോശെയ്ക്കും അഹരോനും വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുത്തു.
3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh-pot, when we ate bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
൩യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ അവരോട്: “ഞങ്ങൾ ഇറച്ചിക്കലങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഇരിക്കുകയും തൃപ്തിയാകുംവരെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ വച്ച് യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യാൽ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സംഘത്തെ മുഴുവനും പട്ടിണിയിട്ട് കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
4 Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will let rain for you bread from heaven; and the people shall go out and gather a certain portion every day, in order that I may prove it, whether it will walk in my law, or not.
൪അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോട്: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ആകാശത്തുനിന്ന് അപ്പം വർഷിപ്പിക്കും; ജനം എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുമോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്ന് ഞാൻ അവരെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ട് ഓരോ ദിവസത്തേക്ക് വേണ്ടത് അന്നന്ന് പെറുക്കിക്കൊള്ളേണം.
5 And it shall come to pass, on the sixth day, when they prepare what they shall have brought in, that it shall be twice as much as they shall gather daily.
൫എന്നാൽ ആറാം ദിവസം അവർ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നത് പാകം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ ദിവസംപ്രതി ശേഖരിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഇരട്ടി കാണും” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
6 And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At evening, then shall ye know that it is the Lord who hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:
൬മോശെയും അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോട്: “നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്നത് യഹോവ തന്നെ എന്ന് ഇന്ന് വൈകുന്നേരം നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.
7 And in the morning, then shall ye see the glory of the Lord; since he heareth your murmurings against the Lord; and what are we, that ye should murmur against us?
൭പ്രഭാതകാലത്ത് നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് കാണും; യഹോവയുടെ നേരെയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പ് അവിടുന്ന് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുക്കുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ ആരാണ്?” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
8 And Moses said, When the Lord giveth you in the evening flesh to eat, and bread in the morning to the full; since the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: —what are we then? not against us are your murmurings, but against the Lord.
൮മോശെ പിന്നെയും: “യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തിന്നുവാൻ വൈകുന്നേരത്ത് മാംസവും പ്രഭാതകാലത്ത് തൃപ്തിയാകുംവരെ അപ്പവും തരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും; യഹോവയുടെ നേരെ നിങ്ങൾ പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നത് അവൻ കേൾക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ ആരാണ്? നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെയല്ല, യഹോവയുടെ നേരെയത്രേ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
9 And Moses said unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the Lord; for he hath heard your murmurings.
൯അഹരോനോട് മോശെ: “യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അടുത്തുവരുവിൻ; യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പ് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസംഘത്തോടും പറയുക” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
10 And it came to pass, as Aaron was speaking unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they turned round toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.
൧൦അഹരോൻ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസംഘത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ മരുഭൂമിക്ക് നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് മേഘത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടു.
11 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
൧൧യഹോവ മോശെയോട്: “യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പ് ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, Toward evening ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the Eternal your God.
൧൨നീ അവരോട് സംസാരിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ വൈകുന്നേരം മാംസം തിന്നും; പ്രഭാതത്തിൽ അപ്പംകൊണ്ട് തൃപ്തരാകും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും എന്ന് പറയുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.
13 And it came to pass, that at evening the quails came up, and covered the camp; and in the morning there was a layer of dew round about the camp.
൧൩വൈകുന്നേരം കാടകൾ വന്ന് പാളയത്തെ മൂടി; പ്രഭാതത്തിൽ പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും മഞ്ഞ് വീണുകിടന്നു.
14 And when the layer of dew was gone up, behold, there was upon the face of the wilderness something fine in grains, small as the hoar-frost, on the ground.
൧൪വീണുകിടന്ന മഞ്ഞ് മാറിയശേഷം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലായിടവും ചെതുമ്പൽപോലെ ഒരു നേരിയ വസ്തു ഉറച്ച മഞ്ഞുപോലെ നിലത്ത് കിടക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടു.
15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna, for they knew not what it was; and Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.
൧൫യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ അത് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ എന്താണ് എന്ന് അറിയാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് “ഇതെന്ത്” എന്ന് തമ്മിൽതമ്മിൽ ചോദിച്ചു. മോശെ അവരോട്: “ഇത് യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഭക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ആഹാരം ആകുന്നു.
16 This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating: an omer for every head, according to the number of your persons that every man hath in his tent, shall ye take.
൧൬ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും ഭക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നേടത്തോളം പെറുക്കിക്കൊള്ളേണം; അവരവരുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലുള്ളവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് ഒരാൾക്ക് ഇടങ്ങഴിവീതം എടുത്തുകൊള്ളണം എന്ന് യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
17 And the children of Israel did so; and they gathered, some much, some little.
൧൭യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു. ചിലർ കൂടുതലും ചിലർ കുറവും പെറുക്കി.
18 And when they measured it with an omer, he that had gathered much had nothing over, and he that had gathered little had no lack: every man according to his eating, had they gathered.
൧൮ഇടങ്ങഴികൊണ്ട് അളന്നപ്പോൾ കൂടുതൽ ശേഖരിച്ചവന് കൂടുതലും കുറവ് ശേഖരിച്ചവന് കുറവും കണ്ടില്ല; ഓരോരുത്തരും അവരവർക്ക് ഭക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നേടത്തോളം പെറുക്കിയിരുന്നു.
19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
൧൯“പിറ്റേ ദിവസത്തേക്ക് ആരും ഒട്ടും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കരുത്” എന്ന് മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു.
20 But they hearkened not unto Moses; but some men left of it until morning, and it bred worms, and stank; and Moses was wroth with them.
൨൦എങ്കിലും ചിലർ മോശെയെ അനുസരിക്കാതെ പിറ്റേ ദിവസത്തേക്ക് കുറെ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു; അത് കൃമിച്ച് നാറി; മോശെ അവരോട് കോപിച്ചു.
21 And so they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating; and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
൨൧അവർ രാവിലെതോറും അവനവന് ഭക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നേടത്തോളം പെറുക്കും; വെയിൽ ഉറയ്ക്കുമ്പോൾ അത് ഉരുകിപ്പോകും.
22 And it came to pass on the sixth day, that they gathered twofold bread, two omers for every one; all the rulers of the congregation came and told it to Moses.
൨൨എന്നാൽ ആറാം ദിവസം അവർ ഒരാൾക്ക് രണ്ടിടങ്ങഴിവീതം ഇരട്ടി ആഹാരം ശേഖരിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ സംഘപ്രമാണികൾ എല്ലാവരും വന്ന് മോശെയോട് അറിയിച്ചു.
23 And he said unto them. This is what the Lord hath spoken, A rest, a holy rest is unto the Lord tomorrow: that which ye will bake bake today, and what ye will seethe seethe today; and all the remaining lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
൨൩അവൻ അവരോട്: “അത് യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചത് തന്നെ; നാളെ സ്വസ്ഥത ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വിശുദ്ധമായ ശബ്ബത്ത്. ചുടുവാനുള്ളത് ചുടുവിൻ; പാകം ചെയ്യുവാനുള്ളത് പാകം ചെയ്യുവിൻ; ശേഷിക്കുന്നത് നാളത്തേക്ക് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവയ്ക്കുവീൻ”.
24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses had bidden; and it did not stink, nor was there any worm therein.
൨൪മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർ അത് പിറ്റേ ദിവസത്തേക്ക് സൂക്ഷിച്ച് വച്ചു; അത് നാറിപ്പോയില്ല, കൃമിച്ചതുമില്ല.
25 And Moses said, Eat it today; for a sabbath is this day unto the Lord: today ye will not find it in the field.
൨൫അപ്പോൾ മോശെ പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഇത് ഇന്ന് ഭക്ഷിക്കുവിൻ; ഇന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; ഇന്ന് അത് പാളയത്തിന് പുറത്ത് കാണുകയില്ല.
26 Six days shall ye gather it; but on the seventh day, the sabbath, on it there shall be none.
൨൬ആറ് ദിവസം നിങ്ങൾ അത് പെറുക്കണം; ശബ്ബത്തായ ഏഴാം ദിവസത്തിൽ അത് ഉണ്ടാവുകയില്ല”.
27 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that there went out some of the people to gather; but they found nothing.
൨൭എന്നാൽ ഏഴാം ദിവസം ജനത്തിൽ ചിലർ പെറുക്കുവാൻ പോയപ്പോൾ കണ്ടില്ല.
28 And the Lord said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
൨൮അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോട്: “എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ന്യായപ്രമാണങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിക്കുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എത്ര നാൾ മനസ്സില്ലാതെയിരിക്കും?
29 See, that the Lord hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day bread for two days; remain ye, every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
൨൯നോക്കുവിൻ, യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ശബ്ബത്ത് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ആറാം ദിവസം അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് രണ്ട് ദിവസത്തേക്കുള്ള ആഹാരം തരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അവരവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്ത് ഇരിക്കുവിൻ; ഏഴാം ദിവസം ആരും തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടരുത്” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
൩൦അങ്ങനെ ജനം ഏഴാം ദിവസം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരുന്നു.
31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna, [[Man]]; and it was like coriander-seed, white, and its taste was like wafers made with honey.
൩൧യിസ്രായേല്യർ ആ സാധനത്തിന് ‘മന്നാ’ എന്ന് പേരിട്ടു; അത് കൊത്തമല്ലിയുടെ അരിപോലെയും വെള്ളനിറമുള്ളതും തേൻകൂട്ടിയ ദോശയുടെ രുചിയുള്ളതും ആയിരുന്നു.
32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, One omer-full of it is to be kept for your generations; in order that they may see the bread which I gave you to eat in the wilderness, when I brought you forth out of the land of Egypt.
൩൨പിന്നെ മോശെ: “യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഭക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ തന്ന ആഹാരം നിങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറകൾ കാണേണ്ടതിന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവയ്ക്കുവാൻ അതിൽനിന്ന് ഒരിടങ്ങഴി നിറച്ചെടുക്കണം” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a flask, and put therein an omer-full of manna, and lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for your generations.
൩൩അഹരോനോട് മോശെ: “ഒരു പാത്രം എടുത്ത് അതിൽ ഒരു ഇടങ്ങഴി മന്നാ ഇട്ട് നിങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറകൾക്കുവേണ്ടി സൂക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വച്ചുകൊള്ളുക” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
34 As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did Aaron lay it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
൩൪യഹോവ മോശെയോട് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അഹരോൻ അത് സാക്ഷ്യസന്നിധിയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവച്ചു.
35 And the children of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; the manna they did eat, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
൩൫താമസയോഗ്യമായ ദേശത്ത് എത്തുന്നതുവരെ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ നാല്പത് സംവത്സരം മന്നാ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു. കനാൻദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിൽ എത്തുന്നതുവരെ അവർ മന്നാ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു.
36 But the omer is a tenth part of an ephah.
൩൬ഒരു ഇടങ്ങഴി പറയുടെ പത്തിൽ ഒന്ന് ആകുന്നു.
