Exodus 11

1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; after that he will let you go hence: when he doth let you go, he shall surely thrust you out altogether from here.

Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Je frapperai encore, mais d’une seule plaie, Pharaon et l’Egypte; et après cela il vous laissera aller, il vous forcera même de sortir.

2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold.

Tu diras donc à tout le peuple, que chaque homme demande à son ami, et chaque femme à sa voisine, des vases d’argent et d’or.

3 And the Lord gave the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians; also the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of Pharaoh's servants, and in the eyes of the people.

Et le Seigneur fera trouver grâce à son peuple devant les Egyptiens. Or Moïse fut un homme très considérable en Egypte aux yeux des serviteurs de Pharaon et de tout le peuple.

4 And Moses said, Thus hath said the Lord, About midnight will I go out in the midst of Egypt:

Il dit donc: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Au milieu de la nuit, j’entrerai en Egypte;

5 And there shall die every first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh that is to sit upon his throne, even unto the first-born of the maid-servant that is behind the mill; and every first-born of cattle.

lit tout premier-né mourra dans la terre des Egyptiens, depuis le premier-né de Pharaon, qui est assis sur son trône, jusqu’au premier-né de la servante, qui tourne la meule, et jusqu’au premier-né des bêtes.

6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, the like of which hath never been, and the like of which will not be any more.

Et il y aura un grand cri dans toute la terre d’Egypte, tel qu’auparavant il n’y en a pas eu, et qu’à l’avenir il ne doit pas y en avoir.

7 But against any of the children of Israel not a dog shall move his tongue, neither against man nor beast; in order that ye may know how that the Lord doth distinguish between the Egyptians and Israel.

Mais chez tous les enfants d’Israël, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la bête, pas même un chien ne murmurera, afin que vous sachiez par quel miracle le Seigneur sépare les Egyptiens d’Israël.

8 And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow themselves down unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that followeth thee; and after that I will go out: and he went out from Pharaoh in a burning anger.

Alors ceux-ci tes serviteurs descendront tous vers moi, et se prosterneront devant moi, disant: Sors, toi et tout le peuple qui t’est soumis: après cela nous sortirons

9 And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken unto you; in order that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

Et il sortit d’avec Pharaon extrêmement irrité. Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Pharaon ne vous écoutera pas, afin que beaucoup de signes se fassent dans la terre d’Egypte.

10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; and the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Or Moïse et Aaron firent devant Pharaon tous les prodiges qui sont écrits. Mais le Seigneur endurcit le cœur de Pharaon, et il ne laissa pas aller les enfants d’Israël hors de son pays.
