Esther 4
1 When Mordecai ascertained all that had been done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth [strewed] with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and bitter cry;
ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ଏହିସବୁ ବିଷୟ ଗୋଚର ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଚିରିଲେ ଓ ଅଖା ପିନ୍ଧି ଓ ଭସ୍ମ ଲେପନ କରି ନଗର ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଯାଇ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଓ ବିଳାପ ସ୍ୱରରେ ରୋଦନ କଲେ।
2 And thus he came up to the front of the king's gate; for none dared to enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.
ପୁଣି, ସେ ରାଜଦ୍ୱାରର ସମ୍ମୁଖ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଗଲେ, କାରଣ ଅଖା ପିନ୍ଧି କାହାକୁ ରାଜଦ୍ୱାରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବାର ଅନୁମତି ନ ଥିଲା।
3 And in each and every province, in every place whither the king's decree and his law had reached, there was great mourning for the Jews, with fasting and weeping and wailing; and a sackcloth [strewed] with ashes became the bed of the great.
ଆଉ, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଏହି ରାଜାଜ୍ଞା ଓ ନିୟମପତ୍ର ପହଞ୍ଚିଲା, ସେହି ସକଳ ସ୍ଥାନର ଯିହୁଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମହାଶୋକ ଓ ଉପବାସ ଓ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ ଓ ବିଳାପ ହେଲା, ପୁଣି ଅନେକେ ଅଖା ଓ ଭସ୍ମରେ ଶୟନ କଲେ।
4 Then came the maidens of Esther with her chamberlains and told it her; and the queen was exceedingly terrified; and she sent garments to clothe Mordecai, and to remove his sackcloth from him, but he accepted them not.
ଏଣୁ ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କ ଦାସୀଗଣ ଓ ନପୁଂସକମାନେ ଆସି ଏହି କଥା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ; ତେଣୁ ରାଣୀ ଅତିଶୟ ଶୋକ କଲେ; ପୁଣି, ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟଠାରୁ ଅଖା କାଢ଼ି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପିନ୍ଧାଇବା ପାଇଁ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପଠାଇଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ସେ ତାହା ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a charge for Mordecai to know what this was, and why this was.
ଏଥିରେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କ ସେବାରେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ ହଥକ୍ ନାମକ ରାଜନପୁଂସକକୁ ଏଷ୍ଟର ଡାକି, କʼଣ ହେଲା ଓ କାହିଁକି ତାହା ହେଲା, ଏହା ଜାଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ।
6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate.
ତହିଁରେ ହଥକ୍ ରାଜଦ୍ୱାର ସମ୍ମୁଖସ୍ଥ ନଗରର ଛକବନ୍ଦି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ।
7 And Mordecai told him all that had happened unto him, and of the fixed sum of money which Haman had promised to weigh out into the treasuries of the king for the Jews, to destroy them.
ପୁଣି, ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା ଯାହା ଘଟିଥିଲା ଓ ଯିହୁଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ହାମନ୍ ରାଜଭଣ୍ଡାରରେ ଠିକ୍ ଯେତେ ମୁଦ୍ରା ଦେବାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ।
8 Also the copy of the writing of the law that had been given out in Shushan to destroy them he gave to him, to show it unto Esther, and to tell her [all], and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, and to make supplication unto him, and to present a request before him for her people.
ଆହୁରି ମଧ୍ୟ, “ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିନାଶାର୍ଥେ ଯେଉଁ ଆଜ୍ଞାପତ୍ର ଶୂଶନ୍ରେ ଦତ୍ତ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ତହିଁର ଏକ ପ୍ରତିଲିପି ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖାଇ ଜ୍ଞାତ କରାଇବାକୁ ଦେଲେ; ଆଉ, ଏଷ୍ଟର ଯେପରି ଆପଣା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ନିବେଦନ ଓ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରିବେ,” ଏପରି ଆଦେଶ କରିବାକୁ କହିଲେ।
9 And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.
ତହୁଁ ହଥକ୍ ଆସି ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟର କଥା ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।
10 And Esther said unto Hatach, and gave him a charge unto Mordecai,
ଏଉତ୍ତାରୁ ଏଷ୍ଟର ହଥକ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହି ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା କଲେ, ଯଥା,
11 All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that every one, whether man or woman, who should come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is but one law for him, to put him to death, except the one to whom the king should hold out the golden sceptre, for he will be suffered to live; but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.
“ବିନା ଡାକରାରେ ପୁରୁଷ କି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଯେକେହି ଭିତର ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣକୁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଏ, ତାହାର ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବାର ଏକମାତ୍ର ଆଜ୍ଞା ଅଛି, କେବଳ ଯାହା ପ୍ରତି ରାଜା ସ୍ୱର୍ଣ୍ଣମୟ ରାଜଦଣ୍ଡ ବଢ଼ାନ୍ତି, ସେହି ବଞ୍ଚେ, ଏହା ରାଜାଙ୍କର ସବୁ ଦାସ ଓ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ସବୁ ପ୍ରଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଲୋକ ଜାଣନ୍ତି; ମାତ୍ର ଆଜକୁ ତିରିଶ ଦିନ ହେଲା ମୁଁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଡାକରା ପାଇ ନାହିଁ।”
12 And they told Mordecai the words of Esther.
ସେମାନେ ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କ ଏହି କଥା ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ।
13 Then said Mordecai to bring this answer back to Esther, Imagine not in thy soul to be able to escape in the king's house out of all the Jews.
ତେଣୁ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ପ୍ରତ୍ୟୁତ୍ତର ଦେବାକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ସବୁ ଯିହୁଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେବଳ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ରାଜଗୃହରେ ଥିବାରୁ ଯେ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବ, ଏହା ମନରେ ଭାବ ନାହିଁ।
14 For if thou do indeed maintain silence at this time, enlargement and deliverance will arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house will perish: and who knoweth whether thou hast not for a time like this attained to the royal dignity?
ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସମୟରେ ସର୍ବତୋଭାବେ ନୀରବ ହୋଇ ରୁହ, ତେବେ ଅନ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଯିହୁଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଉପକାର ଓ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହେବ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତୃବଂଶ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ; କିଏ ଜାଣେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏପରି ସମୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ପାଇଅଛ?”
15 Then said Esther to bring this answer back to Mordecai,
ଏଥିରେ ଏଷ୍ଟର ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ପ୍ରତ୍ୟୁତ୍ତର ଦେବାକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,
16 Go, assemble together all the Jews who are now present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, so that ye neither eat nor drink three days, either night or day; also I myself with my maidens will fast in like manner; and then will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law; and if I then perish, I perish.
“ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଇ ଶୂଶନ୍ରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଯିହୁଦୀୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରି ମୋʼ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉପବାସ କର, ପୁଣି ତିନି ଦିନ ଯାଏ ଦିନରେ କିଅବା ରାତ୍ରିରେ କିଛି ଭୋଜନ କର ନାହିଁ ଓ କିଛି ପାନ କର ନାହିଁ; ମଧ୍ୟ ମୁଁ ଓ ମୋହର ଦାସୀଗଣ ତଦ୍ରୂପ ଉପବାସ କରିବୁ; ତହୁଁ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାନୁଯାୟୀ ନୋହିଲେ ହେଁ ମୁଁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବି; ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେଲେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବି।”
17 And Mordecai went about, and did in accordance with all that Esther had charged him.
ତେଣୁ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଖୟ ଚାଲିଯାଇ ଏଷ୍ଟରଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଆଜ୍ଞାନୁସାରେ କର୍ମ କଲେ।
