Esther 2
1 After these events, when the fury of king Achashverosh was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what had been decreed concerning her.
೧ಇದಾದನಂತರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ವಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಆಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನೂ ನೆನಪುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
2 Thus said the king's young men, his servants, Let there be sought for the king virgins handsome in appearance;
೨ಆಗ ಅವನ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ರಾಜಪರಿವಾರದವರು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸುಂದರಿಯರಾದ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
3 And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the young virgins, handsome in appearance, unto Shushan the capital, into the house of the women, under the custody of Hege the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women; and let them give them their customary anointings;
೩ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕು; ಅವರು ಸುಂದರಿಯರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ಶೂಷನ್ ಕೋಟೆಯ ಅಂತಃಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ಅಂತಃಪುರದ ಪಾಲಕನೂ ರಾಜಕಂಚುಕಿಯೂ ಆದ ಹೇಗೈಯ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಲೇಪನ ದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಲಿ.
4 And let the maiden who may be pleasing in the eyes of the king become queen instead of Vashti: and the speech was pleasing in the eyes of the king, and he did so.
೪ಅರಸನು ಯಾವ ಕನ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುವನೋ ಆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯು ವಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ರಾಣಿಯಾಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಅರಸನು ಅವರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿ ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
5 There was a certain Jew in Shushan the capital, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Yair, the son of Shim'i, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;
೫ಶೂಷನ್ ಕೋಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈ ಎಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಇವನು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ಕುಲದ ಕೀಷನ ಮರಿಮಗನೂ, ಶಿಮ್ಗೀಯ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಯಾಯೀರನ ಮಗನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
6 Who had been carried away into exile from Jerusalem with the exiles who had been exiled with Jeconyah, the king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried into exile.
೬ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದರಾಜನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀನನೊಡನೆ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನು.
7 And he had brought up Hadassah, that is Esther, the daughter of his uncle; for she had neither father nor mother, and the maiden was beautiful in form and handsome in appearance; and when her father and mother were dead, Mordecai had taken her to himself as a daughter.
೭ಇವನು ಎಸ್ತೇರ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಹದೆಸ್ಸಾ ಎಂಬ ತನ್ನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಪ್ಪನ ಅನಾಥಳಾದ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಸತ್ತಂದಿನಿಂದ ಪುತ್ರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಸಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆಕೆಯು ರೂಪವತಿಯೂ ಲಾವಣ್ಯವತಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಳು.
8 And it came to pass, when the king's order and his decree were heard, and when many maidens were brought together unto Shushan the capital, under the custody of Hegai, that Esther also was brought unto the king's house, under the custody of Hegai, the keeper of the women.
೮ಅರಸನ ನಿರ್ಣಯವೂ, ಆಜ್ಞೆಯೂ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ತರುವಾಯ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರು ಅನೇಕಾನೇಕ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಶೂಷನ್ ಕೋಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೈಯ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಾಗ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳೂ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಂತಃಪುರ ಪಾಲಕನಾದ ಹೇಗೈಯ ಪರಾಂಬರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಳು.
9 And the maiden was pleasing in his eyes, and she obtained favor before him; and he made haste to give her her anointings, with her presents, and the seven maidens, who were selected to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maidens with the best things in the house of the women.
೯ಹೇಗೈಯು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿ, ತನ್ನ ದಯೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರಳಾದ ಆಕೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತಕ್ಕ ಲೇಪನದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಭೋಜನವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಆಕೆಗೊಸ್ಕರ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಸೇವಕಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಅರಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆಯ ಸೇವಕಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಅಂತಃಪುರದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರಿಸಿದನು.
10 Esther told nothing of her people or of her descent; for Mordecai had charged her that she should not tell.
೧೦ಎಸ್ತೇರಳು ತಾನು ಇಂಥ ಜನಾಂಗದವಳು, ಇಂಥ ಕುಲದವಳು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯು ಹೀಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನು.
11 And day by day did Mordecai walk before the court of the house of women, to ascertain the well-being of Esther, and what would be done with her.
೧೧ಅವನು ಆಕೆಯ ಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ಅಂತಃಪುರದ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದ ಮುಂದೆ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
12 And when the turn of every maiden was come to go in unto king Achashverosh, at the expiration [of the time] that she had been treated according to the custom of the women, twelve months; for so were the days of their anointings accomplished, six months with the oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odors, and with other ointments of the women;
೧೨ಕನ್ಯೆಯರ ಲೇಪನಕಾಲವು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಗಂಧರಸಪ್ರಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳೂ, ಪರಿಮಳದ್ರವ್ಯ ಕಾಂತಿವರ್ಧಕದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರು ತಿಂಳಗಳೂ ಅಂತು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ತಿಂಗಳು ಕಳೆದವು. ಈ ಕಾಲ ಮುಗಿದನಂತರ ರಾಜನ ಅರಮನೆಯ ನಿಯಮದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ಯೆಯು ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು.
13 And thus came the maiden unto the king; [and] whatsoever she asked for was given her to go with her out of the house of the women as far as the house of the king.
೧೩ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಸರದಿ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದೋ ಆಕೆಯು ಅಂತಃಪುರದಿಂದ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಏನು ಕೇಳಿದರೂ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವುದು.
14 In the evening she went, and in the morning she returned unto the second house of the women, to the custody of Sha'ashgas, the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the concubines: she used not to come again unto the king, except the king desired for her, and she was called by name.
೧೪ಆಕೆಯು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ ಹೋದವಳು ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಸನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರ ಪಾಲಕನಾದ ಶವಷ್ಗಜನೆಂಬ ರಾಜಕಂಚುಕಿಯ ವಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಅಂತಃಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವಳು. ಅರಸನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಿ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿದ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳೂ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಪುನಃ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
15 And when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abichayil, the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her to himself as a daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, said: and Esther obtained grace in the eyes of all those that beheld her.
೧೫ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯ ದತ್ತುಪುತ್ರಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಪ್ಪನಾದ ಅಬೀಹೈಲನ ಮಗಳೂ ಆದ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳ ಸರದಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅಂತಃಪುರ ಪಾಲಕನಾದ ಹೇಗೈ ಎಂಬ ರಾಜಕಂಚುಕಿಯು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಹೊರತು ಆಕೆ ಬೇರೇನೂ ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನೋಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
16 And Esther was taken unto king Achashverosh, unto his royal house, in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
೧೬ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಏಳನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದ ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಾದ ಪುಷ್ಯ ಮಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಜಗೃಹಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು.
17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favor before him more than all the virgins; and he placed the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
೧೭ಅರಸನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದನು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ದಯೆಗೂ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೂ ಪಾತ್ರಳಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ರಾಜ ಮುಕುಟವನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟು, ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ವಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ರಾಣಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
18 And the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, the feast of Esther; and he made a release of taxes to the provinces, and gave presents, according to the ability of the king.
೧೮ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸರದಾರರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿವಾರದವರಿಗೂ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳ ಔತಣ ಎಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ, ರಾಜರ ಘನತೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ದಾನಧರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
19 And when virgins were gathered together the second time, then was Mordecai sitting in the king's gate.
೧೯ಎರಡನೆಯ ಬಾರಿ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯು ಅರಮನೆಯ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
20 [But] Esther had not yet told of her descent nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her; and Esther did [fulfill] the order of Mordecai, equally as when she was under his guardianship.
೨೦ಎಸ್ತೇರಳಾದರೋ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯ ಪರಾಂಬರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗಲೂ ಅವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವವಳಾಗಿ ತಾನು ಇಂಥ ಕುಲದವಳು, ಇಂಥ ಜನಾಂಗದವಳು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 In those days, while Mordecai was sitting in the king's gate, Bigthan and Theresh, two chamberlains of the king, of those who kept the door, became wroth, and sought to lay [their] hand on king Achashverosh.
೨೧ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯು ಅರಮನೆಯ ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರಾದ ಬಿಗೆತಾನ್ ಮತ್ತು ತೆರೆಷ್ ಎಂಬ ಇಬ್ಬರು ರಾಜಕಂಚುಕಿಯರು ಕೋಪವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕೈಯೆತ್ತಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು.
22 And the thing became known to Mordecai, and he told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther said it to the king in the name of Mordecai.
೨೨ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯು ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾದಾಗ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಎಸ್ತೇರ್ ರಾಣಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು.
23 And the thing was inquired into and found true; and they were both of them hanged on a gallows; and it was written in the book of chronicles before the king.
೨೩ಈ ವಿಷಯವು ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅದು ನಿಜವೆಂದು ಸಾಬೀತಾದುದರಿಂದ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಯು ರಾಜನ ದಿನಚರಿಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
