Ecclesiastes 7
1 A good name is better than precious oil, and the day of death, better than the day of one's birth.
Nasaysayaat ti napintas a nagan ngem ti nangina a pabanglo, ken ti aldaw ti pannakatay ket nasaysayaat ngem ti aldaw ti pannakaiyanak.
2 It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting; inasmuch as that is the end of all men: and let the living lay it to his heart.
Nasaysayaat iti mapan iti balay iti ladladingit ngem iti balay iti ramrambak, ta umay ti panagladangit kadagiti amin a tattao iti pagpatinggaan ti biag, isu a masapul nga ipapuso dagiti sibibiag a tattao daytoy.
3 Better is vexation than laughing; for through the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
Nasaysayaat ti ladingit ngem ti katawa, ta kalpasan ti kinaliday ti rupa ket dumteng ti kinaragsak ti puso.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of joy.
Ti puso ti masirib ket adda iti balay iti ladladingit, ngem adda ti puso dagiti maag iti balay iti ramrambak.
5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than that a man should hear the song of fools.
Nasaysayaat ti dumngeg iti panangtubngar iti masirib ngem ti dumngeg iti kanta dagiti maag.
6 For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool. Also this is vanity.
Ta kasla iti panagrissat dagiti mapupuoran a sisiit iti sirok ti banga, kasta met ti katawa dagiti maag. Maiyarig met laeng daytoy iti alingasaw.
7 For [exercising] oppression maketh a wise man mad; and bribery corrupteth the heart.
Awan duadua a ti panagkusit ket pagbalinenna a maag ti maysa a masirib a tao, ken dadaelen ti pasuksok ti pusona.
8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: better is the patient in spirit than the proud in spirit.
Nasaysayaat ti panagleppas ti maysa a banag ngem ti rugrugi; ken nasaysayaat dagiti tattao a naanus ti espirituda ngem dagiti natangsit ti espirituda.
9 Be not rash in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in bosom of fools.
Saankayo a dagus a makapungtot iti espirituyo, ta agnanaed ti pungtot kadagiti puso dagiti maag.
10 Thou must not say, How was it that the former days were better than these? for it is not out of wisdom that thou askest concerning this.
Saanyo a kunaen, “Apay a nasaysayaat dagiti naglabas nga aldaw ngem kadagitoy? Ta saan a gapu iti kinasirib a dinamagyo daytoy.
11 Wisdom is better than an inheritance, yea, preferable for those that see the sun;
Ti kinasirib ket nasayaat a kas kadagiti napapateg a banbanag a tinawidtayo manipud kadagiti kapuonantayo. Mangipapaay daytoy iti pagimbagan para kadagiti makakita iti init.
12 For under the shadow of wisdom [a man is equally well as] under the shadow of money; but the superior excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to him that possesseth it.
Ta mangipapaay iti salaknib ti kinasirib kas iti kuarta a makaipaay iti salaknib, ngem ti pagimbagan iti pannakaammo ket mangmangted ti kinasirib iti biag iti siasinoman nga addaan iti daytoy.
13 Consider [then] the work of God; for who can make straight what he hath made crooked?
Utobem dagiti aramid ti Dios: Siasino ti makalinteg ti aniaman a banag nga inaramidna a killo?
14 On the day of prosperity be happy, but on the day of adversity look on: also this hath God made in equal measure with the other, to the end that man should not find the least to censure him.
No nasayaat dagiti tiempo, agbiagka a siraragsak iti dayta a kinasayaat, ngem no saan a nasayaat dagiti tiempo, utobem daytoy: impalubos ti Dios nga umadda iti agpada a tiempo. Iti daytoy a rason, awanto ti makaammo ti aniaman a banag a dumteng kalpasanna.
15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is many a righteous man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is many a wicked man that liveth long in his wickedness.—
Nakitak dagiti adu a banbanag kabayatan dagiti awan kaipapananna nga al-aldawko. Adda dagiti mapukaw a nalinteg a tattao iti laksid dagiti kinalintegda ken adda dagiti nadangkes a tattao nga agbibiag iti atiddug iti laksid kadagiti kinadakesda.
16 Be not righteous over much; neither show thyself over wise: why wouldst thou destroy thyself?
Saanka nga aginsisingpet, a masirib iti bukodmo a panagkita. Apay koma a dadaelem ti bagim?
17 Be not wicked over much, and be no fool: why wouldst thou die before thy time?
Saanka unay nga agbalin a nadangkes wenno maag. Apay koma a matayka sakbay ti naituding a tiempom?
18 It is good that thou shouldst take hold of that, and that also from this thou withdraw not thy hand; for he that feareth God will come forth out of them all.
Nasayaat a salimetmetam koma daytoy a kinasirib, ken saanmo koma nga ikkaten dagiti imam manipud iti kinalinteg. Ta ti tao nga agbutbuteng iti Dios ket maaramidnanto dagiti amin a pagrebbenganna.
19 Wisdom giveth more strength to the wise than ten rulers which were in the city.
Nabilbileg ti kinasirib iti masirib a tao, ngem ti sangapulo a mangiturturay iti siudad.
20 For no man is so righteous upon earth, that he should do always good, and never sin.—
Awan ti nalinteg a tao ditoy rabaw ti daga nga agar-aramid iti nasayaat ken saanen pulos nga agbasbasol.
21 Also take no heed unto all the words that are spoken: lest thou hear thy servant cursing thee.
Saanka a dumngeg kadagiti amin a sasao a maibalbalikas, gapu ta amangan no mangngegmo ti adipenmo a mangilunod kenka.
22 For oftentimes also doth thy own heart know that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.—
Kasta met, ammom iti bagim nga iti bukodmo a puso ket masansan nga inlunodmo dagiti dadduma.
23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.
Napaneknekak amin dagitoy babaen iti kinasirib. Kinunak, “Agbalinak a masirib,” ngem nakarkaro daytoy ngem ti kabaelak.
24 Far is what formerly was so, and what was deep remaineth deep: who can find it out?
Adayo ti kinasirib ken kasta unay ti kinaunegna. Siasino ti makasarak iti daytoy?
25 Then I turned myself about together with my heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and experience, and to know the wickedness of folly, and the foolishness of madness.
Intalyawko ti pusok nga agadal ken agsukimat ken agbiruk iti kinasirib ken kadagiti pannakaipalawag ti kinapudno ken tapno maawatan a ti dakes ket kinakuneng ken ti kinamaag ket kinamauyong.
26 And I find as more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are bonds: he that is deemed good before God will escape from her; but the sinner will be caught by her.
Naduktalak a ti napapait ngem iti patay ket ti siasinoman a babai a ti pusona ket napno kadagiti silo ken iket, ken dagiti imana ket kawar. Makalibas kenkuana ti siasinoman a makaay-ayo iti Dios, ngem maalananto dagiti managbasol.
27 Behold, this have I found, saith Koheleth, [adding] one to the other, to find experience,
“Panunotenyo ti naduktalak,” kinuna ti Manursuro. Naynayunak ti mangdukduktal iti sabali pay tapno makabirukak iti pannakaipalawag iti kinapudno.
28 What my soul constantly sought, but I found it not; one man among a thousand did I find; but a woman among all these did I not find.
Daytoy ti birbirukek pay laeng, ngem saanko a nasarakan daytoy. Nakasakarak iti maysa a nalinteg a lalaki kadagiti rinibo, ngem awan ti nabirukak kadakuada a babai.
29 Lo, this only did I find, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought for many [sinful] devices.
Naduktalak laeng daytoy: a pinarsua ti Dios a nalinteg ti sangkataoan, ngem pimmanawda nga agbirbiruk kadagiti adu a kinarigat.
