Deuteronomy 1

1 These are the words which Moses spoke unto all Israel on this side of the Jordan, in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Chazeroth, and Di-zahab.

Mao kini ang mga pulong nga gisulti ni Moises sa tanang Israelita sa unahan sa Jordan didto sa kamingawan, didto sa walog sa Suba sa Jordan duol sa Suf, tungatunga sa Paran, Tofel, Laban, Hazerot, ug sa Di Zahab.

2 It is a journey of eleven days from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadesh-barnea'.

Adunay 11 ka adlaw nga panaw gikan sa Horeb agi sa Bukid sa Seir paingon sa Kades Barnea.

3 And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, according to all that the Lord had commanded him concerning them;

Nahitabo kini sa ika 40 ka tuig, sa ika-11 ka bulan, sa unang adlaw sa bulan, nga misulti si Moises ngadto sa katawhan sa Israel, gisulti niya kanilang tanan ang sugo ni Yahweh mahitungod kanila.

4 After he had smitten Sichon the king of the Emorites, who dwelt in Cheshbon, and 'Og the king of Bashan, who dwelt at 'Ashtaroth in Edre'i.

Nahitabo kini human gibuntog ni Yahweh si Sihon nga hari sa Amorihanon, nga nagpuyo sa Heshbon, ug si Og nga hari sa Basan, nga nagpuyo sa Ashtarot sa Edrei.

5 On this side of the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to explain this law, saying,

Sa tabok sa Jordan, didto sa yuta sa Moab, nagsugod si Moises sa pagsulti niini nga mga balaod, nga nag-ingon,

6 The Lord our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have tarried long enough at this mount;

“Nakigsulti si Yahweh nga atong Dios kanato didto sa Horeb, nga nag-ingon, “Nakapuyo na kamog dugaydugay niining bukira.

7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mountain of the Emorites, and unto all its neighboring places, in the plain, in the mountain, and in the lowlands, and in the southern country, and by the coast of the sea, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto the Lebanon, up to the great river, the river Euphrates.

Pamalik ug padayon kamo sa inyong panaw, ug adto didto sa bukid sa Amorihanon ug sa tanang kapatagan nga dapit duol sa walog sa Suba sa Jordan, didto sa kabungtoran, sa kapatagan, sa Negeb, ug sa baybayon— sa yuta sa Canaanhon, ug sa Lebanon hangtod sa dakong suba sa Eufrates.

8 Behold, I have given up the land before you: go in and take possession of the land which the Lord hath sworn unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it unto them and to their seed after them.

Tan-awa, giandam na nako ang yuta alang kaninyo; lakaw ug panag-iyaha ang yuta nga gisaad ni Yahweh sa inyong katigulangan— kang Abraham, Isaac, ug kang Jacob—aron ihatag kanila ug sa ilang mga kaliwatan nga mosunod kanila.'

9 And I said unto you at that time, as followeth, I am not able alone to bear you:

Nakigsulti ako kaninyo nianang higayona, nga nag-ingon, “Dili ako makahimo sa pagdala kaninyo nga ako lang.

10 The Lord your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

Gipadaghan na kamo ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios, ug tan-awa, sama kamo kadaghan karon sa kabituonan sa kalangitan.

11 May the Lord the God of your fathers make you a thousand times as many more as ye are; and bless you, as he hath spoken unto you.

Hinaot nga si Yahweh, ang Dios sa inyong katigulangan, mopasanay pa gayod kaninyo sa liboan ka pilo sama sa inyong gidaghanon karon, ug magpanalangin kaninyo ingon sa iyang gisaad kaninyo!

12 How can I by myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife!

Apan unsaon man nako pagdala sa inyong dal-unon kung ako lamang sa akong kaugalingon, sa inyong palas-anon ug sa inyong mga panagbingkil?

13 Furnish for yourselves wise and understanding men, and those known among your tribes, and I will place them as chiefs over you.

Pagkuha ug mga tawong maalamon, adunay kahibalo, ug mga maayong tawo nga may dungog gikan sa matag tribo, ug himoon ko silang pangulo nganha kaninyo.'

14 And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good to do.

Mitubag kamo kanako ug miingon, 'Ang mga butang nga imong gisulti maayo alang kanamo nga buhaton.'

15 And I took the chiefs of your tribes, wise and known men, and I set them as heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and as officers for your tribes.

Busa nagkuha ako ug pangulo sa inyong mga tribo, maalamong mga tawo, ug mga tawong maayo ang dungog, ug gihimo silang pangulo diha kaninyo, mga pangulo sa liboan, pangulo sa gatosan, pangulo sa tagkalim-an, pangulo sa tagpulo, ug mga opisyal sa matag tribo.

16 And I commanded your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously, between a man and his brother, and between his stranger.

Gimandoan ko ang inyong mga maghuhukom nianang higayona, nga nag-ingon, 'Paminawa ang mga panaglalis taliwala sa inyong kaigsoonan, ug hukmi nga makataronganon ang usa ka tawo ug ang iyang igsoon, ug ang langyaw nga uban kaniya.

17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; the small as well as the great shall ye hear; ye shall not be afraid of any man; for the judgment belongeth to God: and the cause that is too hard for you shall ye bring unto me, and I will hear it.

Dili kamo magpakita ug pagdapig ni bisan kinsa diha sa usa ka panaglalis; paminawa ninyo nga managsama ang kabos ug ang bantogan. Ayaw kamo kahadlok sa tawo, kay ang paghukom iya sa Dios. Ang panaglalis nga lisod alang kaninyo, dad-a kanako, ug maminaw ako niini.'

18 And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.

Gimandoan ko kamo nianang higayona sa tanang butang nga angay ninyong buhaton.

19 And we departed from Horeb, and we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye have seen, by the way of the mountain of the Emorites, as the Lord our God had commanded us; and we came as far as Kadesh-barnea'.

Mipanaw kita pahilayo gikan sa Horeb ug milatas sa tanang dagko ug makalilisang nga kamingawan nga inyong nakita, sa atong pagpadulong sa kabukiran sa Amorihanon, sama sa gimando ni Yahweh nga atong Dios kanato; ug miabot kita sa Kades Barnea.

20 And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Emorites, which the Lord our God doth give unto us.

Miingon ako kaninyo, 'Miabot kamo sa kabukiran sa Amorihanon, nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga atong Dios kanato.

21 Behold, the Lord thy God hath given up the land before thee: go up and take possession of it, as the Lord the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee; do not fear, and be not discouraged.

Tan-awa, giandam na ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios ang yuta alang kaninyo; tungas ug panag-iyaha, sama sa gisulti ni Yahweh kaninyo, ang Dios sa inyong mga amahan; ayaw kahadlok ni kaluya.'

22 And ye all came near unto me and said, Let us send out men before us, that they may search out for us the land, and bring us word again concerning the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.

Ang matag-usa kaninyo miduol kanako ug miingon, “Magpadala kita ug tawo nga mag-una kanato, aron masusi nila ang yuta alang kanato, ug magdala ug pulong mahitungod sa dalan nga diin kinahanglan kita mosulong ug mahitungod sa mga siyudad nga atong adtoan.

23 And the thing was pleasing in my eyes; and I took of you twelve men, one man for every tribe:

Ang tambag nakapahimuot gayod kanako; mikuha ako ug napulog duha ka mga tawo gikan kaninyo, usa ka tawo gikan sa matag tribo.

24 And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.

Mibiya sila ug mitungas sa kabungtoran, miabot ngadto sa walog sa Escol, ug nagsusi didto.

25 And they took in their hand some of the fruit of the land, and brought it down unto us; and they brought us word again, and said, The land which the Lord our God doth give us is good.

Nagkuha sila ug pipila ka abot sa yuta sa ilang mga kamot ug gidala kini kanato. Nagdala usab sila kanato ug pulong ug miingon, 'Maayo kining yutaa nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga atong Dios alang kanato.'

26 But you would not go up, and ye rebelled against the order of the Lord your God;

Nagdumili kamo sa pagsulong, apan misupak kamo sa kasugoan ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios.

27 And ye murmured in your tents, and said, On account of the hatred of the Lord toward us, hath he brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Emorites, to destroy us.

Nagbagulbol kamo sa inyong mga tolda ug miingon, “Tungod kay gikasilagan kita ni Yahweh gidala kita niya pagawas sa yuta sa Ehipto, aron itugyan ngadto sa kamot sa mga Amorihanon aron laglagon kita.

28 Whither shall we go up? our brethren have made faint our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; and moreover the sons of the 'Anakim have we seen there.

Asa naman kita moadto karon? Gitunaw sa atong kaigsoonan ang atong mga kasingkasing nga nag-ingon, 'Kadtong mga tawhana dagko ug tag-as kay kanato; ang ilang mga siyudad dako ug ang pader misangko sa langit; dugang pa, nakita namo ang mga anak ni Anakim didto.'”

29 And I said unto you, Have no dread, nor be ye afraid of them.

Unya miingon ako kaninyo, “Ayaw kalisang, ni kahadlok kanila.

30 The Lord your God who goeth before you, he it is who will fight for you; all just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

Si Yahweh nga inyong Dios nag-una kaninyo, makig-away alang kaninyo, sama sa tanang butang nga iyang gibuhat nga inyong nakita samtang didto pa kamo sa Ehipto,

31 And in the wilderness which thou hast seen, where the Lord thy God bore thee, as a man doth bear his son, on all the way that ye have gone, until ye came unto this place.

ug didto usab sa kamingawan, diin nakita ninyo kung giunsa kamo pagdala sa Dios, sama sa usa ka tawo nga nagkugos sa iyang anak, bisan asa kamo miadto hangtod nga miabot kamo niining dapita.'

32 Yet in this thing do ye not believe in the Lord your God,

Apan bisan pa niini nga pulong wala kamo mituo kang Yahweh nga inyong Dios,

33 Who goeth before you on the way to seek out for you a place for your encamping, in fire by night, to cause you to see on the way in which ye are to go, and in a cloud by day.

nga nag-una kaninyo sa pagpangita ug dapit nga inyong kampohan, pinaagi sa kalayo panahon sa gabii ug sa panganod panahon sa adlaw.

34 And the Lord heard the voice of your words; and he was wroth, and swore, saying,

Nadungog ni Yahweh ang tingog sa inyong mga pulong ug nasuko; nanumpa siya ug miingon,

35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I have sworn to give unto your fathers;

'Sa pagkatinuod walay usa niining mga tawhana gikan niining daotan nga kaliwatan nga makakita sa maayong yuta nga akong gisaad nga ihatag sa inyong mga katigulangan,

36 Save Caleb the son of Yephunneh, he shall see it, and to him will I give the land upon which he hath trodden, and to his children; because he hath wholly followed the Lord.

gawas ni Caleb nga anak ni Jefune; makakita siya niini. Ihatag ko kaniya ang yuta nga iyang gitindogan ug sa iyang kabataan, tungod kay siya lamang gayod ang misunod kanako sa hingpit.'

37 also with me was the Lord angry for your sakes, saying, also thou shalt not go in thither.

Nasuko usab si Yahweh kanako tungod kaninyo, nga nag-ingon, “Dili ka usab makaadto didto;

38 Joshua the son of Nun, who standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: him encourage; for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

si Josue nga anak ni Nun, nga nagatindog sa imong atubangan, makasulod siya didto; dasiga siya, kay siya maoy maggiya sa mga Israelita aron mapanag-iya kini.

39 And your little ones, of whom ye said, They will become a prey, and your children who know not this day either good or evil, these shall go in thither; and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

Dugang pa, ang inyong kabataan, nga inyong giingon nga nahimong biktima, nga karon wala makahibalo sa maayo ug daotan—makasulod sila didto. Ihatag ko kanila kini ug mapanag-iya nila kini.

40 But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.

Apan kamo, balik ug panaw kamo didto sa kamingawan paingon sa Pulang Dagat.'

41 And ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the Lord; we indeed will go up and we will fight, according to all that the Lord our God hath commanded us; and ye girded on every man his weapons of war, and ye insisted to go up into the mountain.

Unya mitubag kamo kanako ug miingon, 'Nakasala kami batok kang Yahweh; motungas kami ug makig-away, ug sundon namo ang tanang gisugo ni Yahweh nga among Dios nga buhaton.' Ang matag tawo diha kaninyo magsul-ob sa ilang mga hinagiban sa gubat ug andam na kamo sa pagsulong sa kabungtoran.

42 And the Lord said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, and do not fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

Miingon si Yahweh kanako, 'Ingna sila, “Ayaw pagsulong ug ayaw pagpakig-away, kay dili ako mouban kaninyo, ug mabuntog kamo sa inyong mga kaaway.'

43 And I spoke unto you; but ye would not hear; and ye rebelled against the order of the Lord, and you were presumptuous, and went up into the mountain.

Nakigsulti ako kaninyo niini nga paagi, apan wala kamo naminaw. Gisupak ninyo ang gimando ni Yahweh; magarbohon kamo ug misulong sa kabukiran.

44 And the Emorites, who dwelt in that mountain: came out against you, and they pursued you, as the bees do, and they overthrew you in Seir, as far as Chormah.

Apan ang Amorihanon nga nagpuyo niana nga kabukiran, migula sa pakigbatok kaninyo ug migukod kaninyo sama sa putyukan, ug mibuntog kaninyo didto sa Seir, hangtod sa Hormah.

45 And ye returned and wept before the Lord; but the Lord hearkened not to your voice, nor gave ear unto you.

Mibalik kamo ug mihilak sa atubangan ni Yahweh; apan wala naminaw si Yahweh sa inyong tingog, ni nagtagad kaninyo.

46 And ye tarried in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye tarried there.

Busa nagpabilin kamo sa Kades sa daghang mga adlaw, sa tanang adlaw nagpabilin kamo didto.
