Deuteronomy 8
1 All the commandment which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do; in order that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord hath sworn unto your fathers.
௧“நீங்கள் பிழைத்து, பெருகி, யெகோவா உங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்களித்துக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திலே நுழைந்து, அதைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்வதற்கு நான் இன்று உங்களுக்கு கொடுக்கிற எல்லாக் கட்டளைகளின்படியும் செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பீர்களாக.
2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, in order to afflict thee, to prove thee, to know what is in thy heart, whether thou wouldst keep his commandments, or not.
௨உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தும்படிக்கும், தம்முடைய கட்டளைகளை நீ கைக்கொள்வாயோ கைக்கொள்ளமாட்டாயோ என்று அவர் உன்னைச் சோதித்து, உன் இருதயத்திலுள்ளதை நீ அறியும்படிக்கும், உன்னை இந்த நாற்பது வருடங்களும் வனாந்திரத்திலே நடத்திவந்த எல்லா வழியையும் நினைப்பாயாக.
3 And he afflicted thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and he gave thee manna to eat, which thou knewest not, and which thy fathers had not known; in order that he might make thee know that not by bread alone man doth live, but by every thing that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
௩அவர் உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, உன்னைப் பசியினால் வருத்தி, மனிதன் உணவினால் மாத்திரம் அல்ல, யெகோவாவுடைய வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையினாலும் பிழைப்பான் என்பதை உனக்கு உணர்த்துவதற்கு, நீயும் உன் முற்பிதாக்களும் அறியாமலிருந்த மன்னாவினால் உன்னைப் பராமரித்தார்.
4 Thy garment did not fall worn out from thee, and thy foot did not swell, these forty years.
௪இந்த நாற்பது வருடங்களும் உன்மேல் இருந்த ஆடை பழையதாகிப் போகவும் இல்லை, உன் கால் வீங்கவும் இல்லை.
5 And thou shalt consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so doth the Lord thy God chasten thee.
௫ஒருவன் தன் மகனைச் சிட்சிக்கிறதுபோல உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னைச் சிட்சிக்கிறார் என்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் அறிந்துகொள்வாயாக.
6 And thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
௬ஆகையால், உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய வழிகளில் நடந்து, அவருக்குப் பயப்படும்படி, அவருடைய கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவாய்.
7 For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and mountains;
௭உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னை நல்ல தேசத்திலே நுழையச்செய்கிறார்; அது பள்ளத்தாக்குகளிலும் மலைகளிலுமிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஆறுகளும், ஊற்றுகளும், ஏரிகளுமுள்ள தேசம்;
8 A land of wheat, and barley, and of the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate; a land of the oil-olive, and of honey;
௮அது கோதுமையும், வாற்கோதுமையும், திராட்சைச்செடிகளும், அத்திமரங்களும், மாதுளம்செடிகளுமுள்ள தேசம்; அது ஒலிவமரங்களும், எண்ணெயும், தேனுமுள்ள தேசம்;
9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, wherein thou shalt not lack anything; a land the stones whereof are iron, and out of the mountains of which thou canst hew copper.
௯அது குறையில்லாமல் அப்பம் சாப்பிடத்தக்கதும் ஒன்றும் உனக்குக் குறைவுபடாததுமான தேசம்; அதின் கற்கள் இரும்பாயிருக்கிறதும், செம்பு வெட்டியெடுக்கத்தக்க மலைகள் உள்ளதுமான தேசம்.
10 And when thou hast eaten and art satisfied, then shalt thou bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
௧0ஆகையால், நீ சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியடைந்திருக்கும்போது, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுத்த அந்த நல்ல தேசத்துக்காக அவரை ஸ்தோத்திரிப்பாயாக.
11 Take heed unto thyself that thou forget not the Lord thy God, so as not to keep his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command thee this day;
௧௧“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை மறக்காதபடிக்கும், நான் இன்று உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிற அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும், நியாயங்களையும், கட்டளைகளையும், கைக்கொள்ளாமல் போகாதபடிக்கும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.
12 That when thou hast eaten and art satisfied, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
௧௨நீ சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியாகி, நல்ல வீடுகளைக்கட்டி, அவைகளில் குடியிருக்கும்போதும்,
13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold are multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied:
௧௩உன் ஆடுமாடுகள் மிகுதியாகி, உனக்கு வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் பெருகி, உனக்கு உண்டானவையெல்லாம் பெருகும்போதும்,
14 Thy heart be then not lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, who hath brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery;
௧௪உன் இருதயம் பெருமைகொள்ளாமலும், உன்னை அடிமைத்தன வீடாகிய எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தவரும்,
15 Who hath led thee through the great and terrible wilderness, wherein are snakes, poisonous serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there is no water; who hath brought forth for thee water out of the flinty rock;
௧௫உன்னுடைய பின்நாட்களில் உனக்கு நன்மை செய்வதற்காக, உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, உன்னைச் சோதித்து, கொள்ளிவாய்ச் சர்ப்பங்களும், தேள்களும், தண்ணீரில்லாத வறட்சியுமுள்ள பயங்கரமான பெரிய வனாந்திரத்தின்வழியாக உன்னை அழைத்துவந்தவரும், உனக்காகப் பாறையான கன்மலையிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் புறப்படச்செய்தவரும்,
16 Who hath fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not; in order to afflict thee, and in order to prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
௧௬உன்னுடைய முற்பிதாக்கள் அறியாத மன்னாவினால் வனாந்திரத்திலே உன்னைப் பராமரித்துவந்தவருமான உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நீ மறக்காமலும்,
17 And thou say in thy heart, My power and the strength of my hand have gotten me this wealth.
௧௭என் திறமையும் என் கைப்பெலனும் இந்த ஐசுவரியத்தை எனக்குச் சம்பாதித்தது என்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லிக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருக்க எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து,
18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth; in order that he might fulfill his covenant which he hath sworn unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
௧௮உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நினைப்பாயாக; அவரே உன் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்களித்துக்கொடுத்த தம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கையை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி, இந்நாளில் உனக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிறதுபோல, ஐசுவரியத்தைச் சம்பாதிக்கிறதற்கான பெலனை உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிறவர்.
19 And it shall come to pass, that, if thou shouldst forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and bow thyself down to them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish;
௧௯உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நீ மறந்து, வேறு தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றி அவைகளை வணங்கி, அவைகளைப் பணிந்துகொள்வாயானால், நிச்சயமாக அழிந்துபோவீர்கள் என்று இன்று உங்களுக்குச் சாட்சியாக அறிவிக்கிறேன்.
20 Like the nations which the Lord destroyeth from before you, so shall ye perish; in recompense of that ye would not hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God.
௨0உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய சத்தத்திற்கு நீங்கள் கீழ்ப்படியாமற்போவதினால், யெகோவா உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக அழித்த மக்களைப்போல நீங்களும் அழிவீர்கள்.
